Strive To Be Happy

 I think had that as a topic in one of my blogs. "What if we had a wildfire here in our community, in our city?" I already wrote the answer to such inquiry. However,  how are we to respond quickly to such wildfire? Most of the people here in my community are smart and educated so they know really well what to do unless of course if they are forgetful.

They know what to do. But it's good to read the newspaper what's in store for you just in case. Or call 911 or the Fire Department. I know of someone who is a volunteer at the local Fire Department, she's a volunteer, not paid for the work that is dangerous and hazardous to health and wellbeing. Volunteerism is such a noble work, not only because you are not paid but being a hero is sometimes referred to Superman, Spiderman, Supergirl and other superheroes out there. Fantasy vs reality. I know there's no real superheroes, only in movies and tv shows.Volunteerism is a noble act of people who have enough power to make things right through the power of invincibility and having invisible hands plus  enough money to make a difference.

Volunteerism nowadays are used for loopholes. Is that bad? Actually, volunteerism was introduced long time ago when the wealthy people can't pay their tax right away or for any other reasons that they are so rich and wealthy but they cannot pay their tax. RICH & WEALTHY CAN'T PAY THEIR TAX!!!!!!!

Weird? Unbelievable?! It's hard to believe. Millions of people found it hard to believe that rich people can't pay their taxes that's why loopholes are created.

Heard of loopholes are not allowed for the rich? Loopholes in firefighting? Being a firefighter now is being seen as less valuable? I don't know. You answer that for me. There are firefighters who died from putting off fire. It's a noble work so why not hire more firefighters and pay them for their noble work?

 Thinking about so many rich and wealthy people who cannot pay their taxes and they are notorious tax evaders. I felt so hungry about that story. Better eat and think about those tax evaders while I eat.
I wont lose my appetite thinking about it.

I will eat these saute' of prawns and zucchini with onions

and I will not lose my sleep thinking how and why those rich and wealthy people can't pay their taxes and they always resort to loopholes.

I hope and pray that the Lord God will not get mad at those greedy people because I'm done with

casting my ballot on who should serve and pay their taxes because they have duty and obligation to do what is right.

The Gold Rush

You will never win the lottery if you don't buy the right ticket. TRUE! How to find out if the ticket is a winner?

That's hard to find out even if you are a fortune teller or you have an E.S.P. Do you have Extra Sensory Perception?

Truth is I always win the "Gold Rush." Not the big winning scratch ticket. I bought five tickets for $5 and I won $10. Or I bought 2 tickets and I won $4. There is always something to win in Gold Rush.

Well, I bought a "Mini Dip" for $5 and won $1.00. Darn! I won $50.00 before but that was long time ago. Dear God when will you bless me with the biggest prize of million dollars?

Once again I won the Gold Rush. Only $4.00. It's okay, maybe next time I will win the biggest prize ever.

 

Only $4 + $1.00= $5 prize? That's good enough for now. Thank God! Thank God because some people never win anything so I considered myself fortunate and blessed.

Are You One Of Those Shakers and Spinners?

Shower blessings since yesterday and that's amazing! My plants at the garden outside are happier than ever. I didn't hear the birds chirping today which is the normal noise everyday since springtime. It's okay, it's wet outside, the grass on the yard is greener and the vegetation, the foliage, the trees are lushy greens and they are so good to look at because they are very refreshing and most of all it cools down a bit at the island. More natural water falling from heavens down to the stream of the river, to the ocean. Isn't that what we all wanted and praying for the past months and month of dry, humid  climate?

You know that it's gonna be hot this year because of less water reservoir which already been felt during the month of February 2017. It's weird right? After that snowy winter months, too much ice and snowfall which of course we all felt that when those snow melted it caused so much havoc to low lands and flash flood happened. The rushing melting snow turned into liquid and caused flood down on the stream right immediately living the regions up high and dry and the rapid change of climate paid a high price of global warming.

Well, you know I could be wrong. Probably it was an "inconvenient truth" and the other half of the world needs the water right immediately for their own good leaving half of the planet dry.

Water reserves. Every country in the world should have to store their own natural water in their habitat, in their own environment. The more people using water means more water on the ground. It's always been a cycle or the presence of the web of life. Unless of course the other half is greedy.

How to find out if the planet is really dense and dry? Fill up a pot of soil with plants and water the soil and plants inside the pot. Weigh the pot with soil and plants without water and weight the same pot with plants with water. Can you feel the difference? The pot with plants and water is heavier. The planet without water is easily been carried by gusty wind, presence of tornadoes is visible,  and the rotation/revolution is much faster. A heavy planet never seems to spin.

The House Needs New Awesome Cooler Paint

We moved out from this house above photo image sometime in November 2016. It was a house that my husband had a contract to paint, do the carpentry, installing of wood floor tiles, ceramic floor tiles on the kitchen floor and ceramic tile walls at the kitchen. He did a lot of work on this house. It was actually built for sale by the owner, however, we like the house (rancher/split level 4 bedroom house with 2 1/2 bathrooms). We stayed there for a year until the owner wants it sold. I think the owner made good profit from the sale. It was a good, clean and tidy house and it's fairly new, plus the big yard is great for would be gardeners and if you have lots of children who love to play outdoors. The family who bought that house above has lots of dogs to care for that's why they bought it.

We moved in  to this house in November of 2016 and my husband finished the pressure washing of this house yesterday. I don't know when he will start the painting. I wish that he'll paint the exterior walls with new cooler paint, not that boring brown color. I would like a mint color exterior wall paint or a  sky blue color just not that brown. I don't like brown color it reminds me of _______!

Well, who am I to disagree with the house-owner. By the way, my husband was surprised that the house we left a year ago was sold again. Hmm, I wonder why. I think when the price of houses are going up some people would like to invest on another house and then make profit from their previous property, that's what I think is sensible.

More houses being built in our community but what are affordable? Nothing's affordable anymore in our time. With all the sad, unfortunate wildfire news happening in the interior B.C. who would like to take chances?

What Is Your Power?

I would like to continue my blogging here at THE CONSCIOUS MIND but I don't think it has enough space. Also, the title is bugging most people thinking they are always taking a test.

This blog is not that mind boggling as you think it is. It's a conscious mind. Speaking my mind not yours. It's not your mind so don't know why some are bothered. I could only think that they can relate to my thoughts and that's where the issue is.

Thinking alike or having in common with other people in the way we think is creepy?

Let say the topic of discussion is politics? When you know that speaking our minds with the way politics are being represented in our time is a taboo especially if you are not a politician. So, lobbies get ready with your job. Your job is lobbying and you must represent the people in your community so that you'll take the blame first. Do your job properly, efficiently and bravely because you are paid for such kind of job protecting the people you represent.

Where in the world that you are suppressed of what you think because of fear that it can boomerang or hurt you in the end. That being chatty, being a reporter or newscaster has no power or jurisdiction upon what's happening now.

Take cover, duck, hold remedy? Is there an earthquake? There might be no earthquake but that's how we get ready in times of economic downturns.

SEARS company is bleeding for cash. Did you hear about the news on TV and read it on the internet? Sears not the only want bleeding for cash. Everyone of us would like the exchange in cash rather than debit or credit cards being used rampantly.

Open-air market helps produce cash. A place where people (buyers and sellers) haggle. I love haggling or using the bargaining power, who is the smartest in this kind of power struggle.

Cash is like an oil or oil is the cash that makes trade easy to handle. Can't handle cash then use another trading power called barter.

Or are we to DUCK, COVER, HOLD?

It Comes With The Age

When you're over 50, you don't care about the clothing you wear unless you try to impress somebody else. When you are already married you don't impress your husband,  you try to impress yourself.

True or not? Maybe true to myself! I can only try to impress myself that's for sure. Over 50 is not a young age anymore. Old is the true sense of being fifty and over.

I wear clothes that are clean, smelling fresh febreze and clothes comfortable for my body. I am not being fashionable anymore, what's the point? I repeat:  I want clean sanitized clothes, comfortable clothes and clothes that fit the occasion.

I wear the same kind of clothes but some of them are not old fashioned yet. I wear dress, tops or blouses and skirts or pair of pants according to the dictates of my own mind. I don't wear clothing just because I listen to the opinion of others.

I was invited to a wedding. I told my husband that I have no new clothes to wear. He said he will give me $100 to purchase a new dress for me. At my age? I have problem with the way how clothing are designed and sewn nowadays and sold in department stores they are not my kind of dress, that sometimes I end up sewing a dress for myself if I have the right chance and right time.

Anyway, I was busy with something else and no time to sew a new dress for the wedding. Besides, at my age, who cares about what I will wear for that occasion. So instead, include that money for the gift intended for the bride and groom. Wouldn't be that nice and proper?

I wore my slightly used clothes for the wedding and the newlywed couple received $500 worth of gift. I think that's great. Newlyweds in this generation need more than help and support to start a new life. Giving material gifts in the form of appliances, silverwares or dinnerware set, linens and comforters and maybe microwaves are no longer the fad in gift-giving because the receiver sometimes receive the same kind of  toasters when they probably have toaster at home or to receive dinnerware set when they don't really need them because they can get by with corning wares;  most of all new couples would rather have cash so that they can  buy what ever they need. Cash gifts or gift cheques are better gifts to start a newlywed married life because it puts them in a straight direction of managing their own lives without parents support (?) and what  have you got in your own mind?

Now if you are surprised about what those invited guests are wearing at your wedding... you'll know that they are not there to be overdressed or to call attention away from the spotlight of the bride and groom.

From Alterations To Alter-Ego

I had just returned to my sewing project and alterations. I have too many clothes in my closet and boxes but some of these clothes don't fit my body anymore. I was size 2 to 4 when it comes to petite sizing (measurement) my original body measurement for clothing when I was single. Then when I got married and have three children my body measurement dramatically changed and it comes with the age too. Sad to say, I'm wearing pair of pants size 10, and size M for medium or L for large size blouses or dress. Yuck! OMG! I'm too fat for my age. Aren't we all getting fat? At least just fat not obese!

Losing weight is crucial. How can I lose weight when I'm the cook at home. I have to taste the food that I cook. Every cook should taste the food that they cook otherwise you wont know how salty, bitter, sweet or bland the food.

Thank goodness that I know about sewing and alterations is one of my skills. I remember at one time when I asked a seamstress to do the alteration of my dress way back 1995 and I was shocked of how much she billed me for just less than 20 minutes of her task. I paid her $15 for less than 20 minutes work for just an alteration of a dress. I could do it for less than 10 minutes with my sewing machine. Why I didn't do it? That time was when my sewing machine had a problem and I can't sew or have proper alteration on an expensive dress. There 'ya go, the dress is costly and professional seamstress knew the value of such fabric and she works in a shop and she is renting the shop in a department store. And how many people or clients for such alteration shop? Maybe only chosen few. People in Canada will always throw their old clothes or slightly used dress, tops, pants, and gowns in the thrift shop rather than have their clothes altered or repaired and buy news ones. That's why thrift shops in every city in Canada are all over the place. Salvation Army, Hospital Thrift Shop, Value Village and privately owned second-hand stores are too many now which cater to their customers of second-hand clothing. There are more clients and customers for the thrift shops than in local retail outlets. Hard to believe but it's true.

It's the same with wristwatch. When an expensive wristwatch goes haywire and for professional technician had it fixed then the bill could be very expensive. Better buy a new wristwatch, cheap ones okay and don't use the haywired wristwatch. Who cares about what kind of wristwatch you are wearing nowadays. I want a watch that works and give me the right time and a watch that never fail to do the right task.

Are You Driven? May the Force Be With You!

How we can ask the young people here in Canada to find work within their community and within Canada?

HOW? This is always the nagging question by old people in Canada and other countries. Do you really know the answer to such inquiry?

There are too many reasons why young people do not work here in Canada and why these young people or newly graduates never find the work they want.

EDUCATION is very important. College graduates or University graduates have the edge over undergraduates we all know that but first and foremost the question is
IS THERE A DEMAND FOR SUCH JOB? What are the available work? Where in Canada you are working or looking for employment? Would you like to work not according to the diploma or certification you received in College? Will you be willing to work as a cook/dishwasher when you have a College diploma and you are a Medical Practitioner in the Philippines? You were a surgeon in the Philippines and the available work is a cab driver, would you be willing to work as a taxi driver?
Or you are a graphics artist and will you be willing to work as a waitress or waiter?

Canada is like the Middle East. Children are spoiled and their children are treated royalty. Employers would like to hire people from other race, mostly from Third World Countries. If they can't hire low income workers then they allow seniors aged 50 years of age to 80 years of age in department stores. So what happened with the younger generation? It's not that they are not smart but they are smart and they are protected by the Canadian Government. Slave labor (or having young kids work in sweat shop and other insulting jobs for kids) is allowed in other countries but not in Canada.

I think in a well developed countries the young generations (mostly those children born with true Canadians parents are given priorities) but those who were immigrants and or just migrated from other countries will have a hard time understanding the trend.

Well, I wish my children are working or they are graduates of prestigious University,  but you know there are children who are ambitious and my children are not that ambitious especially when they can get what they want. I mean, being ambitious is when you have nothing and you came from a poor family and there's not enough food and not enough clothes and you don't live in a beautiful house, you have too many siblings and you all are living under one roof with just one bathroom then that's where the TIME when you have to think that to get away from such mess you have to be ambitious and study hard, work hard and get out from the mess. I know, that's always the theme for a simple movie. But it's the truth about life in Philippines and other countries.

How can you ask your children to educate themselves, work hard or find employment  after they graduated but when they are living in a house complete with all the modern technology and tech gadgets who would like to leave the house? How they can move out of the house when their mother cooked special meals, cleaned their mess, make everything available for them? Children no matter how old they are will always stay with their parents because of the availability of resources. Children wont leave a safe, secured house and when their parents treat them as their own children not slaves. When parents showed so much love , care and security for their children they tend to stay with their parents.

Higher ambition, higher skills and higher education tend to move children away from the care of their parents. These ambitious people tend to move away from home and tend to look for higher and greater, greener pasture away from their home and away from their parents. The usual driven force to get away from the mess.

There's nothing wrong with ambition and being ambitious but when obviously overt very ambitious people gets in the way then it's another NAZI STORY in the way or DARTH VADER's rule to power emerges.

Your Life Is Not My Life

Oh my God! It's already July and it's the year 2017. What are the events and important happenings this month? What are the future predictions? Do I have to tell you?

Just accept what will happen and be ready. Most of all be reminded of the many birthdays we have to celebrate this month. Aside from the many secrets in the celebration of  Canada Day and the secrets for the celebration of the 4th of July and what is the secret of  E.T.? LOL.

It's good to have secrets eh? For those who do not like secrets, for those who don't believe the grandfalloon and cat's cradle then it's time to watch the movie LIFE, it's a science-fiction movie  and available for rent  at Telus Optik for viewing.

My mind is filled with so many important ideas instead of helping you it might confuse you and I'll become Confucius and life for all of us will become uneasy to take and life on Earth wont be the same. The Earth is just too small for all of us to hold grudges. It's easy to forgive and forget after all those who have sinned against us already paid for their sins. For the thieves, those who tried to hack and steal my ideas and my blogs sorry to tell you that you wont win. He he he!

Those who sinned against the Father should and must pay for their sins. For those people who are not photogenic in their photos it's not my fault. I don't own a magic wand.
