Trick Or Treat?

I was thinking in advance about DST or Daylight savings Time (November 6, 2011) because it's getting dark out now at about 7am  when it's supposed to be brighter. But hey it's already close to November and there are lots of happening on that month. However not to forget about Halloween soon which falls at the end of this  month.

Have you got boxes of candies and chocolates yet?

I really have  to stock boxes of candies and chocolates plus potato chips because there are lots of children in this new neigbourhood. Besides it's the most celebrated event of the year for kids when they have to wear beautiful costumes such as prince and princesses, costumes from fantasy land and some goofy creepy costumes for teens and  adults.

I asked my daughter if she would like to join the fun of wearing costume this year so that I can sew a special costume for her. She just frowned. I first thought she didn't hear me so I repeated my question. Then she just shook her head as if not interested. I think she's too old for that thing now. Unless the school have a mandatory costume parade or Halloween party. Ah, whatever! I cannot bother her when she's busy watching Johnny Test and Kid Vs. Kat.

The reason why I asked it's because it's always at the last minute we have to hurry up in buying costume and then we rushed to the store and found nothing that fits her. Or stores get out of stock of the best costumes and what's left are the grungy ones, too small or too big for her size. Or the ugliest costumes. Whew! Who wants that?

Hmp! Why I'm the one having the anxiety? Why I'm always worried about something when others are not? Is there something wrong with me?

I think I am really getting old.

Yeah that's the biggest problem that anyone could ever imagine.

Getting old is crucial.

Growing up is mandatory for all of us.

Changes

The passing of time
The change of weather, temperature, scenery
The changes within the environment, the beautiful foliage, the changing of the colors of the leaves
time after time

Again and again we value almost everything that breathe the same air
We value and rejoice life
We condemned the death of any living creature great or small
We rejoice the living and those whose lives brought happiness to all of us

We value humanity because we are part of the web of life
Like the wind, the air we cannot see but we thank God that we have them because without them
We are not here

I don't know how you can rejoice about a certain death, of a human life and cry so loud when an animal was killed. What's the difference?
But for so many of you whose lives became miserable taking the lives of others is a triumphant way of healing an old wound. I think everything is about a propaganda. It is a shame if you and I will be participating in such jubilation. Right on , it is a trip ulit! They keep on tripping and tipping. I know it is so boring in this world of ours. That a death of a certain individual marks a new beginning of life. For them it's like a GAME. A game of life. That's horrible and terrible!

A reporter once told it's better to kill the prisoners than to keep feeding them? OMG! what a reason hard to believe.

I don't know what to believe.

My kids will continue to watch cartoons instead! You people suck so bad!

DST soon.

In this LIFE called REALITY there is ONE who is doing it and recording every actions you made. But for others there could only be ONE. Others are just blind to know. It's the gut feeling that what matters to them only matters to them alone not for the sake of all individual. So perhaps you know that what you learned from your schooling  they are all accounted as THEORY. Theoretical and once it is put into action becomes critical. There is that serious tone of the loads of those action.

In schools and university in the Philippines most of the time, majority of the Filipino teachers believed in THEORETICAL approach of teaching until the last day of school or perhaps those teachers or your professors also believed in the value of OJT (On the Job Training). Here in Canada OJT is a pre-requisite before graduation in HS (High School). Their HS is equivalent of Second Year in College. Actually! In Philippines only few Filipinos attend university as a working student. Most of the time the parents are burdened with keeping their kids to attain their diploma program no matter how hard their financial life is. They will work hard good enough to have their kids finished their degree no matter how poor they are. Education is the best investment for their children no matter what the situation is. Chinese and Filipinos have the same formula of dealing with their kids providing the right discipline. Unlike other countries in the world wherein they want their children to do it their own way. Which is of course vital process in today's survival. At age 18 most of these kids or teens would rather be independent and do whatever they want to do. Parents and teachers encourage their students to learn vital skills, life skills to better view their life for the future. The opportunity and the lifetime endeavour doesn't end at school. It must have the right route or path to see where they life should be going. A life that is not stagnant but a life that keeps moving, filled with action and colorful memories.

Now what?

Seek employment or be independent,  work and study at a different pace and time in their own way of coping up with adult situation. A situation wherein I would like my children to think which is and what is better for them in the long run. They are my kids and whatever opinion they have I have to respect. After all life in my own home is the HOME of a caring Mom a Mother who I don't know if they know the true meaning of it. I should have my Mother or Grandmother to give them the sermon everyday. would that help? Because aunts and uncles don't know how to teach kids nowadays.

We are in a different world and I don't like to be in a communistic society. Would you like to be a communist?

It will all come to a certain nostalgia effect when an Eco professor  once said that Marcos is the communist and a "bolshevik" whatever she meant by that word is really not clear because actually she is not Russian. With her eyes widened and words so loud to the listening ears we don't know if she is crazy or not but she told us, advised us to go on the demonstration outside. JOIN them! Join the group of demonstrators who are against Marcos and his cronies. WTH! That old prof. we had who doesn't know what is doing moreover the many accusations she used to tell us about Pres. Marcos. Ah, too many stories so little time. I wonder if she is still alive. I hope so. I wish she is still alive so that she'll know and compare how her niece and nephew run the government in the Philippines. We need those "examples" to find out who are really communist. Who are socialist and more over who are the true enemy of the Philippines. Well folks that's truly a lesson of POLITICS and ECONOMICS.

Story Writing and All Those Troubles That Blur My Vision

One hovering difficulties is when you are to publish a book and all of a sudden the television network shows got hold of the main plot and have them all at once in one night show on TV. So what happened now? What is the most devastating that can happen to a writer is when the idea of that writer was stolen. It is hurtful!? Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you think? You think that's funny? It's like you are stealing somebody else's job or work.

My novelettes are already done or finished before all these wild tales and shows on TV are aired so I don't know who leaked them? It must be soooooooooo HOT that they are very much interested with the "plot." They should BUY IT instead. Imagine they are very popular and if they are rich why not they buy it? Or are they poor pretending to be rich?

I don't know what to conclude.

So we'll have my novelette or story in my Net Novela Blogspot for everyone to READ for FREE until they can find that they are really making a good deal. Like it is a STEAL ! Let these people READ FREE! Until their conscience bothers them. Would that be helpful?

Another blogger-writer who once said that he received an email from an agent and he was asked if he could sell his article for $5.00. How many pages in his article? What kind of article? What kind of story in his article that is worth five bucks? Is that good or an insult? Then I looked at his website and it say's HE QUIT!

While me? I WONT QUIT. Writing is my destiny. If I stop writing that means I'm dead.

Then looking at a book written by a popular bestseller hardbound cover and his book is worth $34.99/book with 500 pages. Not bad eh? If he can sell 1,000 of that book then he earned $34,990. However from that amount $34, 990 you have to deduct the amount of capital he used to produce those books. The ink, the paper, the author's editor, copy writer, the publisher and the rest of the people who helped him finished the book (finished product) I wonder how much he gained from it. Is there a profit? How much tax he needs to pay? Would it be better if the book is published in an E-Reader or iPad? That I don't know that's why I am asking.

What is the safest route and which way I could earn a living?

Writing A Novel. How concern are you?

Thinking about what I read a while ago from Mr. Joe K. about authors of book joined their hands together creating a novel. Like 150 of them writing and re-writing and then editing the whole novel? Whew! That is so bizarre and hellish I think. And the pain of having a clash with those people who have negative impact on the editing like cutting certain vital information from that novel in a book is crucial. What if the "cut work" is the one that makes the novel so inspiringly brilliant? What if that part of the book that they cut off or deleted is the one that readers would like to read? With 150 writers joining to make the novel worthy of an appeal the original author made only how much? 8 CENTS!?????? That is totally, totally hilarious and most of all absurd and cruel... you can scream bloody hell! I mean what's the use of writing a book when you are only to receive that tiny amount of money. What happened to the amount of time, energy, paper, ink, and your entire mind-thinking of writing a piece of novel. Writing a novel is not that easy. It is stressful to the point that it needs a lot of brain, multi-tasking, thinking like as if you are in that situation, vivid imagination, research, sharp memory, focus, lots of stimulus. Stimulus and response, reaction, counter reaction. It needs a lot of psychological factors, emotions, argumentative, obstructions if there is a need and solution for every situation. Writing stories never comes easy it needs concentration, old world tricks but not being a prankster or fraudster , a  new kind of approach to tackle every opportunity. What more if the story or novel has too many characters then it would be like thinking for 22 people and that's very difficult. Imagine a person with 22 different heads thinking differently in a different situation. So that's mind boggling. Confusing? More than that. That's why most writers are known to have dual or multiple personality.

For some people to degrade writers or reject their work is like a slap on the critic's face too. They should try to write and let them find out for themselves on the many difficulties.

Dreamy Cloud Formation

As I opened the door at the kitchen here is what stunned my senses. I couldn't help laughed. Then the over-bearing power of the sun and its radiant rays almost blinded my vision that I took cover behind the glass door.

I'm not afraid of sunlight. It's just that it is so bright out there.

I felt like am such a blind and couldn't find my way.

Here is the view behind the glass door, behind the blinds. The sun at its height mightily showed how powerful it could be. Thinking its power would damage my digital camera I checked the result of the photographs. It was okay. Nothing to worry about.

More shots and more scenes to aim at.

Today's cloud formation is absolutely captivating! I can't describe it at first then just a wink from outer space now that's absolutely fabulous. What that blue streak below the fence is ...I don't have a clue. What could be that "thing?"

Gratitude

I don't really know where to put the maple twig. I was thinking I'll have to dry it within or beneath inside the yellow pages book. The same way I had artfully dried some other kind of leaves (oak, aspen, pine, birch, willow, and other simple leaves like maple, pinnate, etc.)

Then I displayed it on the cabinet hanging it to the handle. Would that be perfect for your eyes?

While I was angling it to the camera's lens it never occurred to me at first what would it bring on the other side. On another perspective and what it could be its message.

Hopefully it's a good one and righteous.

We all need to carry a cross I think.

I don't think God can carry all the burden.

It's not all the cabinet who would carry it.

All of us.

What to do next is didn't wait for my hubby to assemble the computer desk. I got a knife and opened the box so that I can start the assembling of this desk. There is an instruction that I can follow and can do it step by step. All screws are numbered and with corresponding letters that correspond to the materials that can be attached by screwing the tubular metal stand with small and big  metal screws for the wooden desk. It's a nice piece of wood. Smooth and varnished. Well polished for perfection. I was halfway of this task when husband arrived and helped me. It's really good when somebody helps to make the work a little easier. Somebody you don't need to pay.

That's right with your own family. It's the family that helps one another without any payment. Just a little piece of gratitude. A simple thank you is enough.

So now my small yet simple and affordable kind of desk is perfect for my computer work. What next is the computer desk  ^ for my daughter. We have to assemble that also. We are using boxes for desk lately and it's time to cheer up with new gifts from Lorne. That too, gift-giving is early and we are thankful.

I am also thankful for the food that we have for dinner. Of course it's turkey the main gourmet food. But I'm just happy with those delicious stuffing inside the turkey and gravy. Plus dessert: creamy mango vanilla cake and fruit salad. This time we decided a simple feast is better than a bigger one as long as we are all together, healthy and happy.

So, here's wishing everyone a HAPPY BLESSED THANKSGIVING DAY!

Cheers! ?

Maple And Its Splendour

I asked L about why our maple tree leaves hasn't changed its colors yet unlike the other trees along the streets of the town where  we lived. "Don't you like it?" he told me that their trees will go bald before winter and our tree will have its leaves color green maybe longer than it would take the changing of weather. Well, that's good if that's the case. I kind of wonder that their variety of maple trees are different. There are at least 6 kind of maple varieties such as: Sugar maple, Silver maple, Japanese maple, Norway maple tree, Red maple tree, Paperback maple tree. Each tree has different shape and size of leaves. The similarities they all turned colors from green to yellow, orange, then red. Once they turned its leaves to red then they fall on the ground.

While tending to the yard the other day, digging the soil for aeration of some kind I noticed maple leaves on the ground and on the grass so I picked them up. They are awesomely beautiful. I thought to myself that they are really good subject for my photography.

Not contented, I decide to take some test shots on our maple tree outside. I cannot find a better view or angle and then I heard an echo. A voice that's loud yelling, " Come on!!!!"

What the heck! Is somebody watching what am doing outside? It was only past 7 pm and clouds covering the horizon, the sun's not peeking out  yet. There is blue sky but not as blue when the sky is out there. Too much cloud I think. So while I angling my digital camera the shots are not into my supposed "picture in mind" setting or position so I touched the branch while the morning dew on its leaves and branches started dripping on my face and hands.

You know what I did?

I  picked one small twig from the branch of the tree and took it home.

Easier than done. Presto! Now I can have a better eye-view of the twig for perfection. I can have too many angles of shots with much gusto. Besides I know that there are some "peeping toms" watching what I'm doing. So there...that's my maple tree leaves and I don't know what those "butterfly kind of thing hanging from its twig." Do you know? Are they "seeds?" Are they baby leaves about to spring out?

They are like hanging keys. They remind me of narra tree with its textured seeds but their seeds are semi-circular in shape.

More shots. This time with apples. Maples, apples! And ----with a mouse! Wow!

What with apples doing there? A reminder that apples sound like maples. That apples like maples have different varieties to choose from: Baldwin, Cortland, Golden delicious, Jonathan, McIntosh, Northern Spy, Red delicious, Rhode island greening, Rome beauty, Yellow newton, York imperial, Winesap, Fuji, Gala. 14 popular and known apple varieties and due to high technology there are so many varieties coming out of ying-yang. You wont believe that maple trees will soon have too many off springs from its 6 known varieties or species.

Just like the species of human beings being subjected to experiments long time ago and now yield the strongest the most highly intelligent human form of this century.

No wonder why Canadians worship their maple flag.

It's Gorgeous!

I have a very disturbing nightmare last night. It is not about zombies. It is not about scaredy cats, vultures and many creepy crawlies it's about something that puzzled me since the time I came here in Canada. The first time that I landed on the ground of Canada. Very disturbing! That's why it will be a SECRET, so secretly confidential that I want to forget about it.

If We Only Know What They Are Talking About

Do you have bionic ears? Can you hear a whisper? How sharp is your sense of hearing? Can you hear and listen to a sound within a distance of  20 feet away from you? Can you hear the beating of your heart? Can you hear an ultra sound? Can you hear the voices coming from your neighbor's? Can you hear the noise from another class in another room?

If you have a difficulties...you are not alone. Millions of us here on planet Earth have a hard time hearing within a distance of 5 feet even if you are already shouting. This is because there are too many sounds already in the background that hinders your hearing and attention. For instance when the radio or stereo is on, or your television's volume is loud. Or people whose work are in the carpentry business, sawmill, forestry, workers using loud machines has affected their hearing and some of them probably have their eardrum blasted due to high frequency of sound. Musicians who are into metal rock, the banging of drums, electric guitar, loud speakers can make the band deaf including the many of their fans. Also when the climate changed, and esp. on winter time when there is that so called "sound barrier" and it's best to communicate through written words. Unless of course you want a "radio" to listen to. Do you still listen to a radio?

Now what? What is that you're saying again? So the lady in waiting lend her ears for the next in line to hear the message.

Hey wait! Don't you think it's best to WRITE or POST IT?

Know what? I have no time for this nonsense!!! I just want to lend you a hand. You can have this pewter with magic potion. This will help you achieve the next leg of the race.

Okay? Gtg now. See 'ya.
