 There was an advertisement of the new movie WONDER WOMAN 1984 starring Gal Gadot and you can watch its premiere telecast on TV for $30.00. Instead of watching it on theaters or cinemas you can watch it on TV at the safety and comfort of your homes. Yeah, why not!!? 

Hey, it's BOXING DAY today and the lockdown in Ontario begins due to the pandemic and new variant of the virus is in the news which according to the latest NEWS on TV Networks that it originally variant virus from UK. Whatever. It is snowing there now. Sure, people will stayed at their homes and only few of the braves will storm the blizzards. 

It's always a lockdown on icy snowy place especially if the height of the snow is over 6 ft tall. No, I'm not kidding. Even in Alberta or other provinces of Canada when the snow towers above the height of a house that's automatic lockdown.

Just roll out the Pfizer vaccines (95% effective)  and Moderna vaccines (94.5% effective) and eradicate that COVID once and for all. 

So far, mostly health care workers (doctors & nurses, caregivers and hospital workers + long term care patients and vulnerable patients) were vaccinated first. Some country's leaders were given the vaccines, had inoculations and who will be next in line?

When one vial of vaccine/person  is not enough and second vaccine is much needed. 

Patience is a virtue.

 You probably wonder why I'm not posting much of my children's photos on my blogs no matter how many photographs they have. You wont believe that they have so many tens of thousands of photos when they were babies, when they were toddlers, up to the time when they said enough snapping photos of them. Too many photo albums to peruse and hold memories of them. Now  you wonder why they shy away from being photographed. My son reasoned out lately that he can take pictures of him. Yeah, he can with his too many modern gadgets such as cellphone, laptop, digital camera. All my children have digital camera (Canon, Nikon, Sony). My daughter got digital camera, 2 Tablets, 2 Laptop Notebooks (She gave her one Laptop Notebook to me) and my husband was thinking of buying her Switch tech gadget. OMG! I hope not. You know how many of those modern devices/gadgets she already had in the past such as Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Wii, and all those DVD Games which she is keeping in her vault storage. That's what it is with kids nowadays once gadget becomes obsolete because of new latest invention then the old ones were thrown away but not with Tam. How many headsets with mic. were used too during those animated games? Too many, I can't count them anymore and now she wants a new headset or earphones. It's not over yet with unwrapping of gifts. 

Well, just like me how  many digital cameras I had?  When one camera becomes obsolete because it wont connect or not compatible with the computer then end of the camera. Just like software that's worth $150 that was not compatible with new Windows. No wonder why BG is freaking, hellish super duper wealthy eh? No, that's not how we have to accuse him of. We should be thankful for him because technology was at its greater height since Bill Gates founded Microsoft. Everyone, almost everyone becomes highly skilled with computers and that's added bonus to secure employment in the modern management in Canada and in the US.

The latest of the news of today that you can personally fix your own cellphone to eliminate waste dump. Eh?! Do you think that's the solution? The new generation wont put up with the hassle of such fix. The latest flip phone (cellphone) is worth $1,000 + tax. The younger people will work hard and save and buy those flip phones just to be the trend setter, no matter how expensive those flip phones are. Me? I don't like cellphones, we have landlines so telephone's good enough for me. I have 3 Laptop Notebooks! I only use one. Two of the Notebooks are just for my files of photographs and for my blogging purposes. That's what it is for, nothing else. Oh, of course to browse the net for latest NEWS, latest trends, latest fashion, latest scoop, latest what could be the LATEST?

Latest, too many tests. Too many tests and it's over the roof already. That's why I want a drone so that I can have an aerial view of the roof. ha ha! 

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner last night and after that we watched the science fiction movie BREACH starring Bruce Willis.

TODAY is the time to RELAX. 

As If...Whatever!

 When I'm starting to get overtly dramatic suddenly my computer laptop is acting up. Why? Okay, they probably don't like the drama in me. Leave it to Dr. HOUSE and his diagnostic team. LOL. 

So, today is the 4th day of the HOUSE, M.D. Medical series on TV. It's a marathon.  My daughter likes it too because it's weird and funny, I mean some fascinating, incredible stories, very intriguing that some stories are mysterious in nature and so unbelievable that I almost forget about the cancelled FEAR THE WALKING DEAD series. How dare you guys at AMC. 

My daughter is autistic and so am I.  I AM.

Yup, we are just like Dr. Murphy the savant autistic. We are not that friendly and we wont connect just like normal people do because we love the paranormal and supernatural. My boys wont connect with the normal because they can only connect with the geek squad. They don't do drugs or don't smoke so they are clean and don't like wasting time with coquettes. Oopss, sorry!

Okay, I know it's the Holidays and we have to celebrate CHRISTMAS, the birth of JESUS Christ. Then we have to celebrate Holy Week next year. I don't know who are the creep of creeps.

Got nothing to show off this time. I can't show off the house because we are renting it for $ -,---.--! Ha ha! Where's the swimming pool? In Philippines if you rent a house to that amount there's a free swimming pool. It's cold at this time but it is hot at summer time.

Good thing about here in Canada is most of the people here are taxpayers and their taxes are working for the good of the Government. Look at those vaccines!! Those millions of vaccines are very costly! The population of Canada is 37, 742, 154 (estimated pop.) and if one vial costs about $25 (+) that's an amazing $943, 553, 850. If there's no pandemic that could be the budget for the economy or economic recovery but would end up as payment for the vaccines. (Those vaccines are already PAID as soon as it was ordered months ago). The health of the people is the wealth of the nation, so The PM Justin Trudeau is doing the right thing for Canadians.  Besides, Canada is the country in the world where they can control the weather. How they control the weather and climate? Is it mind boggling? Powered by modern technology and rockets? Could be, maybe.

Drones? Do you like drones? Hmm, all of a sudden there is that sudden urge that I want to have drone for a gift this Christmas. Ah ahahhahaha!

Winter Solstice

 WINTER SOLSTICE. The shortest day of the year is today, December 21, 2020 and it's Monday. 4C outside temperature and 22 C inside. Thank God for the fireplace burning to give us heat inside the house. 

We run out of blueberry bagels (Tim Horton's) my daughter has to eat that blueberry-zucchini cake I baked two nights ago, still fresh though. Just like her, I don't like big breakfast. My husband had two pouched eggs on toasted bread and hot brewed coffee. My two boys don't like having breakfast at all.

Husband has to buy few bags of bagels and drove right away to the nearest Tim Horton's branch.

 

I'm happy that we're all complete as a family these Holidays. My eldest son arrived last night from the mainland to celebrate Christmas with us. He showed his arms, smiled and said that he's growing his muscles now. lol. I told him to have his supper first but he kept on analyzing some of his Pokemon cards (collection since childhood) because he found out that they are worth thousands of dollars. I hope so. 

My daughter and I watched the two day marathon of HOUSE (M.D. - Medical Series). There are about 170 episodes of House series (Year 2004 to 2012) and I was only able to watch about a dozen episodes so far. It's by far the most intriguing medical series ever and they have the most talented actors and actresses in the series that's why I'm a fan of such television drama with touch of dark comedy. My daughter likes Dr. House's facial expression when he is being sarcastic and funny to the extent of being weird. I think Dr. Gregory House (portrayed by actor Hugh Laurie) is savant autistic just like Dr. Shaun Murphy (portrayed  by actor Freddie Highmore). Looks like THE GOOD DOCTOR was cancelled abruptly after 4 episodes this season. I wonder why.

 A marathon of Tom Cruise  movies also on one TV Channel.

So, today is the shortest day of the year and the longest night, still dark outside at 8:35 AM.

Bad News + Good News (- +)

 I woke up at a very early morning today at about 4:30 AM, brewed my first cup of Van Houtte coffee with milk and a piece of zucchini-blueberry cake without icing, that's my Sunday breakfast. Then watched the morning news on CBC News Network. The latest news? Netherlands and Scotland ban on UK flights due to the new strain of Coronavirus. Whew! Yeah, something new this time...as new strength of virus. Same Covid virus but the strength or strain of such virus is stronger.

Whatever! I hate bad news!

Only 1 d. Celsius  temperature outside and 23 d. Celsius inside our home.

Anyway,  there is good news here. All the fallen leaves from my bougainvillea plant has been replaced by new sprout of younger lime colored leaves.

Early spring time for my bougainvillea. Wow!

It starting to bloom flowers too.

Right at the baseline, more fresh shoots started branching out from the main trunk.

Food. Etc.

 It was lovely day for couple of days and then storm and gusty winds happened within next day and today is just pleasant as it would be? I don't know. I don't like to look at the sky and make predictions. Let it be ...you know.

So, It told you that I went shopping at WALMART. My own purpose was actually to check on Ree's new fashionable clothing that was mentioned on her blog, however her clothing line was not available in that branch. Anyway, maybe those trendy colorful tops would be available next month (next year 2021). 

And I told myself that I will keep those bags of samosas and lumpiang shanghai  (springrolls)in the freezer  that I made intended for Christmas snacks, however early cravings my dear tummy, ha ha. 

Why we have to eat? 3x a day not enough and we have to eat snacks too? We have to eat healthy food so that we'll be strong and healthy. You don't have to be a weakling. How to diet in the time of the pandemic is bad.

Fried the already fillet tilapia (fish) and it was so good. Husband said he will buy another package of such delicious fish. I didn't tell my kids that the fish is not salmon because I know they wont eat it.

Let's have wraps. Chicken fajitas with all the dressing for the great wraps.

Commercializing the food? Why not? It's a blog and blogging is just merely showing off or advertising? Actually "both." It's part of the story. At least it's not all food in my blogs.

Something creepy? Something paranormal out there? Hey, it's already the 19th of December 2020 and 6 days to Christmas and only 5 days for Christmas Eve. Are you excited too?

It Is What It Is

 One of my weird obsession is watching the sky for the weather forecast, sometimes watching the Weather Channel on TV is much better because they feature the whole, complete weekly forecast. 

Long time ago, weather is very unpredictable...not anymore in our generation because of modern science and modern technology life is better and predictability sets the trend.

Nobody will be called "witch" nowadays when even the strongest typhoon, heavy storms and hurricanes can be traced withing far distance of a landfall or before it hits the earth's surface.

Daytime & nigh time temperatures are also recorded by meteorologists and then broadcast on TV Weather Channel.

Even what happened in the sky at night, the meteor showers and maybe all the alignment of stars and how many days of sunshine and how many days of low precipitations leading to downpour. Meteorologists also can measure the height of the ceiling of the sky and clouds through the weather balloon experiments. 

It's gonna be a lovely day today. Keep your fingers crossed.

Husband went shopping for gifts to wrap and I went shopping two days ago with him at Walmart. We went too early to have that convenience of shopping and of course we followed all the required protocols. The last time I went out shopping was last March 2020 because just like you, fear is one of the factors that keep you away from all the troubles of the pandemic. I wore mask of course, using the KN95 mask ($5 each), not the surgical mask (is much cheaper).  Though KN95 mask is unflattering mask makes you looked like a duck. LOL. You can breathe better with this face mask than the surgical mask. We brought our own hand sanitizer. 

I noticed that my husband is so used to wearing mask. Well, simply because he is a contractor and he wears mask N95 whenever he spray paint using that industrial paint spray and when he's doing pressure washing, carpentry and renovation project. While, I had problem wearing it for over 30 minutes. 35 minutes and I ran immediately out of the department store and breathe the cold winter air. Now I know why some people are complaining that they have problem breathing. It's true that you will grasp for air for the long duration of wearing a face mask. I think if you wear face mask for over an hour you will have a hard time breathing. There will be difficulty and you might end up sick.

I was able to buy what I want and that's it, no more extra browsing. Paid all the items and off we go straight home. 

Gift wrappers are ready even before last week. 

Then the wrapping of gifts begin... 

I don't have enough box that I have wrapped two items in one box. Some small items are then placed in the Christmas stockings.

Not enough? I think some people will just receive cards. lol.
Sorry, but if only the pandemic scare is not the culprit to our shopping and to our celebration of the Yuletide season then life much better to bear with. 

I wish this pandemic will soon be over and everything will turn to normal once again and we have to stop alienating ourselves.

Perhaps, the ordered vaccines  from MODERNA will also arrive before end of the month.

Nucleus = The New Clues

 Only 16 days to Christmas! OMG!! Am I ready for this year's Christmas? Do I have to cook gourmet cuisines, specialty foods? I always cook gourmet food whether it's Christmas, New Year, birthdays, or even on ordinary days. Actually I'm running out of idea when it comes to cooking the best food. I would like to try different cuisines, foreign dishes, spicier, hotter, delicious foods. However, do you think my family would like those foreign foods? I don't think so. I think the simpler the better. 

First of all, with the recent precautionary guidelines of  "no gatherings allowed during the Holidays." Whoah! So that sends the trend of following such protocol of celebrating the holidays only with the family and no other guests, no visitors and extended families and clans are off limits no matter how close you are with them. Just the parents and children holiday celebration only. NUCLEUS. Exclusively for  FAMILY ONLY Celebration this Christmas & the New Year.

How's that to you? Are you that brave enough to disobey the Health Protocol from those who lead the guidelines just to keep you safe and dry? I mean those who keep you safe and clam? Oopss, Calm before the storm.  LOL. J/K 

OMG, slipped of the hands. Yeah from "slip." It should be sleight. WTH. It's okay. It doesn't matter you are deaf, blind and you cannot read. Not being racist. Just that who the hell are teaching the kids now? Who taught the doctors and nurses before they become who they are? Are they remorseful? Do they have remorse? What life and death means to them? What god complex they have to decide for all the living? Who taught the politicians before they were on top of their dreams? Do they have god complex syndrome too? Are they atheists? Who put them on high pedestals? Maybe next elections we should have billionaires leading the country to use their billions of dollars  on "how the works of the good government should run for the people." It is for the people, by the people, of the people. If the people beg for the needs they should deserve should you not work for them because after all you are one of the people and you are paid for every minute you are working and people are paying your wages? What if the people stop paying the politicians? What if the people stop paying doctors and nurses? Should be EVEN right? Do you like FLOOD? Let's get EVEN.

Our  2020 Christmas tree is already standing right there at the living room, adorn with simple, pretty Christmas ornaments. Simplicity is beauty. I am not that extravagant when it comes to decorations. Christmas tree topper? I have angels for the tree top but it looks nicer without anything on top anymore. Let's get EVEN.

It's not that everything is even. Oddity here we come? Only God knows... or we can call it EVEn. Hmm, is there a pie ratio of even?

 

I have just finished cooking a delicious food. This Filipino dish is actually a mixed of menudo-curry.

Ingredients: Ground beef, diced potatoes, diced carrots, green peas, chopped celery, chopped onions and garlic, salt and ground pepper, bay leaf, curry powder, soy sauce, beef broth, chili powder.

Menudo-curry for stuffing in the making of samosas? Yeah, why not! This time, I wrapped the stuffing using the eggroll wrappers and the sizes much bigger than previous ones. I'm keeping them now in the freezer for Christmas Eve dinner.

Psychology

 Sweet for my sweet tutankhamun? Not a lovely day and it's okay, because it doesn't matter. There's always something to newscast about at 24/7 news bureau. I hope it's not a bureaucratic news network. Take it like a grain of salt, rather take IT on both sides. It should be a circle without sides. 

I watched this old movie about old guys experimenting on ESP. The subjects on their experiment are one female beauty, she's blonde and blue eyes, pretty and sexy & one male, good looking guy, smart and very attentive. Every time the male guessed the sequence correctly he was  HIT. He gets the hit and it hurt him so bad. So many times he guessed the cards right he was being punished while the female always made a mistake and cannot guess anything correctly was given the reward. How stupid is that experiment? Good it's only a movie of fiction. What's the point of such biased experiment? Wasting money? The stupidity of waste? 

The experiment: That blonde, blue eyes, sexy, attractive woman can get away with anything but a handsome, smart or intelligent man cannot because the experimenters are men. That's totally B.S.

P.S. Not all blonde women are your Marilyn Monroe, Kim Basinger or  Sharon Stone. Elizabeth Taylor is actually blonde but she dyed her hair black. Why?

Hundreds of leaves had fallen from the bougainvillea and it's good to know that the fresh new leaves start to grow again.

It took 3 months to have that one single branch (graft) to turn around in its new phase of life after the cut. Grow up roots. Grow up some more...you are too slow.

At the baseline, more sprouting fresh new leaves are evidently seen. More falling yellow leaves but with new leaves to replace them one by one is a refreshing sign of a wonderful life for this bougainvillea.

Sweet For My Sweet Tooth

 It was foggy yesterday and feels like sleepy hollow (hallow) the sky cleared up only in the afternoon but the AI pet sabre hummingbird continued to watch over us and its feeder hanging from the roof's gutter. Funny how it is that particular hummingbird sits still unmoved on top of the lilacs then chase one hummingbird after another when the other hummingbirds touch the feeder. For that sabre hummingbird, the feeder belongs to itself only. Nobody owns that feeder but that lonesome hummingbird. lol. That's why my husband and I watched this special kind of bird every day for our own entertainment and keep its sweet water fresh all day, everyday.

 

We love sweet stuff too.

Orange layered cake is fabulous. Husband bought it from Quality Foods.

Cheesecake? How many times we bought cheesecake for desserts? So many times. It is inexpensive to buy the whole cheesecake than make it or bake it from scratch.

Assorted cheesecake for those who love chocolate cheesecake then have it while for those who love the non chocolatey part then they can have it too. I love the marble fruit flavor cheesecake. Yum!

Then suddenly, we ran out of cheesecake, have to bake cassava cake. I'm not lazy. I can bake too. Cassava cake is one of the most delicious cake in the Philippines and the main ingredient is of course the shredded cassava root. 

The plain  cassava cake is already tasty and delicious, however you can try a different flavour by adding and mixing blueberries and grated cheddar cheese.

Smooth, yummy cake.
 

When baked goodies are gone, then time to have sweet, succulent delicious grapes. Fresh fruits  are great alternative for dessert. It's a healthy choice.

December 2020

 The twelfth month of the year, the last month of the year 2020.

DECEMBER 2020. The most awaited month of the year and the most celebrated holidays are within this month of December.

Fortunately we can celebrate this very special holidays with our family, with our very close circuit or members of our family. However, extended families or outside of every family such as relatives and friends should not mingle or gather during this time of the pandemic as what is being circulated in the news that gatherings up to more than 5 to more than 10 people should not gather in one small tight places to control the spread of the virus. How true is that? 

Just celebrate Christmas and the New Year with your family that's it. You want to see your extended families and friends use the comfort of your modern gadget and use the "Face Time Apps."

It's just a precaution. Oh, there are vaccines available now such as from Pfizer & Moderna. That's true, but are they approved already? Who get the vaccines first? Who will get the first injection? According to the news, the distribution would be on 31st December. However, the approval will be at the hands of the FDA (Food & Drug Administration). If you don't have vaccines yet, better stay cozy at your homes and stop travelling from one province to another or one country to another. You could be asymptomatic, you could be working in hospitals and clinic, you are asymptomatic but are you safe? See, nobody knows. KEEP CALM. STAY SAFE! It's on and on non-stop precautionary measures as in repetition already but what can we do?

Anyway, let me greet those people who will celebrate their birthdays this month, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Those people who will celebrate festivals which are "controlled" of course, people who still have the strength to do what they've been doing despite of the pandemic, those who continue to support the helpless, the needy, the oppressed, the sick and the depressed GOD BLESS YOU & your works.
