Not So Fun Halloween

We are not really into Halloween this year simply because my kids are all grown up already. They don't go out house to house for trick and treats since Year 2012. We had some boxes of treats such as chocolates, candies and chips just in case when kids knock at the door at Hallow's Eve.

Well only... if

Before have to decorate Halloween ornaments and decor as spooky as it could be at the front door and at the lawn. Kids have to wear costumes, remember that I bought the Princess Lea's costume from Star Wars and my two sons wore "Knight-in-shining armours" complete with shields and swords. Every year they wear  different costumes because schools also have Halloween parties where teachers and school staff also wear costumes for their fun day celebrating Halloween. Nothing's wrong with that.

It was recently that people in the Philippines also celebrate Halloween by wearing costumes and do the trick or treat school to schools or house to house. Wow!

You know that Halloween costumes are very costly here in Canada? The cheapest costume is worth $20 and if you will sew costumes just the textiles and accessories would result to $50 - $100 worth costume then to include make-up for the complete set up or make over  then what is left for you to give for treats?

Maybe it's better to spend your money for Christmas time. Have the best meal for your family. Roast a huge turkey or roast a whole pig for lechon. Buy gifts for your kids.

I know there is so much fun in scaring or frightening your friends. Just watch scary movies at the convenience of your home. Watch vampires and draculas. Watch Jason and Michael Myers or Jeffrey Dahmer's movies, maybe that would change your attitude,  wont get out at night and knock at stranger's doors.

Whatever. Do you have dental insurance? You know how many times those politicians talked about homelessness, health and dental care...over and over again? EXPENSIVE DENTAL CARE! If they cannot afford dental care or have brand new dentures then you should be aware of this.

Caution: Avoid gummy bears, hard candies and hard chocolates. Take care of your gums, mouth and teeth.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TAKE CARE & BE SAFE!

Survival Of Plants

Sometime in July 2022, this is what my banana tree looked like. Very healthy right?

The banana leaves are vibrant greener, wider and lively to see and touch.

Then now, this is what the banana tree looks like above photo. I have to trim and cut those withered banana leaves. The leaves had turned yellow and brown. I have no option but to get rid of those dry leaves from its trunk. I think I overwatered the tree or maybe it was shocked its roots and the whole tree because of the weather temperature. ?

I'm glad that my bougainvillea still alive up to now despite of the weather we have in Canada. The leaves of bougainvillea are falling one by one but that's natural occurrence during Autumn.

I can only pray that my banana plant/tree survives year 2022.

Mistakes Can Happen Any Moment: Caution

Weird or what some people tried or keep on insisting something way out of proportion. They tried so hard that you want to scream at them to better get the hell out of the way or else... Too much sales talk and too much wasting.

That if somebody wants to stay away let it be. You don't have to be a pushover.

Because of those pushy-willows that can inflame or otherwise causing inflammatory effect of somebody's well being better have mussels soup with lots of ginger. Ginger, the magic ingredient for inflamation. Ancient medicine but highly effective.

MUSSELS SOUP. Ingredients: New Zealand mussels, sliced onions, ginger, salt, pepper, sliced bokchoy, celery and carrots. Yummy, yummy good.

We had exotic wraps of seafood days ago and suddenly hubby craved for fajita wraps with chicken slices, slices of beef, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers & tomatoes, spices. Dressing of guacamole and sour cream.

Then for dessert we have peach pie (9 inches diameter pie). Peaches are our favorite fruit for pies!

Get ready with the cool whip cream...

Only to be dismayed that the peach pie (labeled as peach pie in the box) turned out to be apple pie!

What the heck!! Huge different. However, you'll know only once you tasted and have a bite of the pie that it was an apple not a peach. FGS!

Husband would like to return the apple pie  in the store because he likes the peach pie better.

How could they'd be wrong?

UPDATE: Hubby didn't return the apple pie. No one eats the apple pie. Can the puppy eats the pie? I don't have a clue.

10 - 01 - 2022

Believe it or not it's already October 2022. The 10th month on the Calendar year of 2022.

2022-10-01 and I hope this is the best wonderful month of the year.  Birthdays, Anniversaries, Thanksgiving day and Halloween, festivals are celebrated every year.

I wish all the beautiful people who will celebrate their birthdays and couples who will celebrate their wedding anniversaries make their memories more unforgettable, happier and what else could I ever wished for but making things last forever.

Thanksgiving day is celebrated in Canada earlier as you probably know. October 10, 2022 (Monday) which is by the way Columbus Day in the U.S.

October 5, 2022 - Anniversaries

October 5, 2022 - Yom Kippur

October 10, 2022 - Thanksgiving Day

October 10, 2022 - Columbus Day

October 31, 2022 - Halloween

Yesterday was the celebration of TRUTH & RECONCILIATION: Every Child Matters. It was the Indigenous of Canada's way of ? remembrance of their past, culture and heritage the way they make us feel humble, in humility with who we are as a Nation United as ONE. CANADIANS! The Indigenous of Canada are the First Nations of Canada. The rest of us are immigrants. Respect and honor their presence, their ownership of the land.

Anyway, in the Philippines same thing...it's the Filipinos the land owners of the Philippines, its archipelago and thus, lead to the revolution and overthrown of the Spaniards out from its land, from the tyrants and war is the only solution. It was bloody and millions of lives lost. Many heroes died too in the process but Independence was achieved through the help of the Americans. Then the Americans took over to rule first to give the Philippines and its native Filipinos the chance to educate themselves of the new form of government borrowed thr. the Americans. It is in the American form of government!! The universal language has changed from Spanish to English. How difficult that would be for Filipinos?

It was not easy but it was achieved. The government was established step by step, copied the system and form of government just like the Americans had it and until now the government is "Americanized" or rather westernized and nobody's complaining about it. It's religious freedom that is still overwhelming "Spanish." Every Filipinos name and surname still bear the Spanish names. The Spanish blood you are born with, of courage and bravery and being conquistadors. We conquer! Five hundred rule of Spaniards in Philippines is simply stunning, incredible and history unforgettable. With all the Spanish culture, heritage, way of life, the kind of food (the delicious, spicy foods you eat everyday is simply Spanish!) , the language, the gracious, romantic ways, the million faces that bear and reflect of Spanish influence still alive and lingers. 500 YEARS of Spanish rule and domination cannot be wiped out or erased.

You wished! Adios for now.🙌🙌🙆🙏💓😄🙀
