THE PROJECT I WAS BUSY THIS WEEKEND
I've been busy once again with my Christmas Project: Sewing & Baking. I was thinking about this earlier since November however could'nt start to begin with earlier because I have other plans to get busy about.
Baking project: The making of empanada is really a very laborious job and my husband knew about it as he is the witness to what I was doing, rolling the pin to flatten the dough. Keeping measurements of the circle or round wrappers where big spoonful of stuffing will be wrapped one by one. Pre-baked dozens of empanada and cool them down so that I can store in the freezer. Did you know that the cooking of "stuffing" for the empanada takes time and energy too.
Next Baking Project would be next week when I have more time. Cookies & Muffins. I like to bake pies too. That could wait in the next days to come.
The Sewing Project: I had sewn a pair of lace blouse, two checkered tote bags and the rest of the fabric or textile will be allocated for the next project.What am I doing with those totes? For Christmas gifts of course.
My God! My back hurts already! Have to stop for now and continue my project next day off.
So much so those 2 days off not enough. Now you wonder why the Prime Minister of Finland was in favor of 4 DAYS WORK for 6 HOURS/DAY and 3 DAYS OFF. Know why?
Hectic schedule for a Mother who works outside the home and come back home to do the cooking and cleaning of the kitchen, also include the marketing. If they have young baby or children additional work for them. The two days off : Saturday & Sunday are for housework most of the time and truly no time for relaxation. With one spare extra day off that can give every parent, every Mother or Father to relax and rest from stressful over pressured job. This is just my opinion. Your opinion is yours and I respect every opinion others can contribute. For those who want extra work... then that will be considered overtime or some people thrive on having a part time job in another company so that they wont feel the boredom and routine work in just one company.

CHRISTMAS FAST APPROACHING?
TODAY is more like housework as usual. Lots of chores to do aside from cooking meals for the family. I started my laundry of clothes and towels this morning. Then followed by another laundry of drapery. Next, cleaned the stove and the vent/filter. Finished cleaning the sliding glass doors with windex and to hang the drapery once it's washed, cleaned and dried.
I already hanged Christmas decors on our Christmas tree. It is unusual Christmas tree actually, mostly with red ornamental decors and small stuffed toys (animals) plus some sparkly snowflakes. Our Christmas tree topper is an Angel with pretty red gown.
I don't know where to hang the Christmas stockings cuz we don't have fireplace in this house where we currently live since 2021. Maybe I will hang the stockings on the windows or by the sliding doors at the kitchen.
Holidays in December is sure to be the most stressful event of the year. Anxiety always set in like you cannot deny it when somebody asked you if you are ready with Christmas or what will you do on that one day to commemorate the birth of Jesus. That's right! Nobody even knows that December 25 is actually THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST. It is BABY JESUS BIRTHDAY, For God Sake!!
It's more like people everywhere buys special gifts for their loved ones when it is not their birthday. LOL.I know, we are Catholics, we are Christians and to celebrate Christmas with festivity of colorful lights inside and outside the house, with lavish delightful and delicious foods on the table, cookies and cakes and all the mouth watering desserts and salads. OMG! People asking if you'll have turkey, ham or roast beef. We usually have turkey. Roast beef is expensive. Usually our meals is combination of Canadian, Filipino, Spanish and Chinese Cuisines. I don't know for sure if that "theme" will change on the 25th of December. Still too early to tell.
Many days to think about shopping here and there for that one very special day that happens only once a year. Wouldn't it be nice if just a simple meal, simple celebration of a family that prays and stay together for unity without the stress, without hypocrisy and without controversial issue... that should matter?

Cheery people in great celebration in honor of the "Baby Jesus" from a lowly manger in Holy Bethlehem right beside with His Virgin Mother & Saint Joseph acting as the "guardian" for the Holy Infant.
That's what it is with December... early shopping, very early decorating every home with Christmas decor, ready with Christmas trees adorned with toppers, wreaths, bows and ribbons, and ornamental made of plastic, crystal, wood and ceramic balls and stars including sparkling twinkling Christmas lights.
There is no other Holidays welcomed with such elaborate festivity and pompous lavish entertainment and spending money for such very special occasion just that family, every family in every home want to create an atmosphere of Christian unity, peace and happiness.

OCTOBER 2025 CALENDAR OF EVENTS
OCTOBER...October the most wonderful month of the Calendar Year. This tenth month of the year the foliage can be very vibrant and colorful that the forest looked more like fantasy land. Sweetest days when the breeze tends to be cooler and then colder from early morning, from sunrise to sunset. You'll wake up early and still dark outside from 4 pm to 9 pm. That's why the promise of DST Ends will be in effect sometime this month. However, they changed it to Nov. 2, 2025
There will be hurricanes and storms but don't know when. Usually October is the month frequently visited by low precipitation. There will be days with foggy atmosphere. That is not my prediction (you think I have sixth sense? LOL) but because it was observed through many years through research and history from the past.
OCTOBER is the month of gratitude that's why THANKSGIVING DAY is in the month of October to be celebrated for the bounty-ful harvest. Yes, it has its beginning with the farmers who just had accomplished and achieved great blessings from their farms. However, nowadays not only farmers are celebrating the day of Thanksgiving but also the whole country of Canada. Based from History, the Thanksgiving had to do with the Native Indians (Indigenous People of Canada) as they merged in with the White foreigners who invaded their own country. Uhm, is that the true story? The Puritans had also had their way in and religion is a part of the conquest. Remember that the Mayflower's conquest is also part of HISTORY. Well, you can read other story from the textbook of your choice maybe there is a better story., more dramatic and explosive.
I am not Jewish its just that Jewish Holidays are part of the normal Calendar events. And NO, my kids are not Jews so do not harass them!! Although they> the > JEWS do not celebrate Christmas... isn't that a mystery? I was baptized Roman Catholic and so as my children. The Roman Catholic has too many Holidays and celebrations of feast in honor of the multitudes of Saints. Only the Catholics believe in the LORD OUR GOD, the Creator of Heaven & Earth, the believer of JESUS CHRIST and all the Saints and Angels.

SEPTEMBER the 9th month of the Calendar 2025. September is the month of Fall. It is the special month where Canadian forest changes dramatically from green to yellow, orange to red. It's more like magical season of change. Your mood changes with the sudden drop of temperature and sudden change of the atmosphere and setting within the horizon. The bears will fatten themselves and so as the many wild animals in the forest to prepare themselves for the long hibernation. Then the caribou hunters would prepare themselves for the hunting season. The salmons would eventually swim from the ocean through the rivers to spawn. Children will go back to Elementary School and into High School & University to study, gain more knowledge and experience. Awesome moments of the web of life will take place. Isn't that so amazing?

Yes we owed them some gratitude, to thank them for the kind of education they share, partake and teach us to be morally and ethically upright.
Our parents FATHER & MOTHER our first teachers at home taught us basic education, religion, faith in God, they taught us character education. They taught us about family, respect and loyalty for our elders and they taught us gratitude, courtesy and honesty.
The HOLY BIBLE taught us about religion, faith and love for GOD the Giver of Life and Love.
The Teachers are Educators who teach and guide their students to be knowledgeable in all subjects: Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Physics, Social Studies, History, Economics, Politics, Environment, Nature, Language, Humanities, Arts, Health and Wellness, Medicine, Life Skills, Biology, Military Training, Philosophy, Botany, Geology, Topology, Anthropology, Etymology, and other field of study.
PARISH PRIESTS, REVERENDS, CATHECHISTS and all Faithful Religious Teachers who teach faithful followers of religion, about GOD & JESUS CHRIST... somewhat they are few of them who are VISIONARY.

Northern lights or the aurora visible most of the time at the North Pole. However Aurora frequently appears in Edmonton sky for several years now.

SPRING EQUINOX
GOOD MORNING ALL. It's the first day of SPRING! Yey! After the stormy wind yesterday and hopefully today the storm's gone and out.
At this time of the year I was ready for gardening, cultivating the soil for planting bulbs of dahlias and sunflower seeds. Well that wont happen this year. I will just admire your beautiful gardens and appreciate nature as it is under the bright sunny sun. Besides I'm allergic to pollen so better not inhale what's out there.
Only 4 Celsius outside and 20 C inside our home. After morning blogging, housework is the next best thing to do: laundry,vacuum carpet and floors, clean glass windows with windex, and cooking. I bought 2 pkg of wonton wrapper. OMG! You know how much its cost? $7.99. I remember 2 pkg only worth $4 before. For the stuffng: ground pork, shrimps, egg, onions, cilantro, carrots, celery, ginger, salt and ground black pepper.
My kids love wonton soup so it's worth the cost.
Boullabaise would have been the best soup ever but can't afford that anymore. Seafoods are so very expensive! Just the saffron= one teaspoon is worth $15.
In the news, lobsters, crabs and seafood from Canada are imposed with 25% tariff from China. Whoah! Canada should just sell seafoods locally and adjust the price here. It's the exportation that make the seafood very costly locally. Would you believe that a medium size crab is worth $25/each. Too much! But who knows maybe the Chinese are willing to buy crabs and other seafoods priced double because of the 25% tariff. I know the Chinese they love seafoods: oysters, lobsters, prawns and shrimps, clams, and salmons. Their oyster sauce lee kum khee? Fresh oysters from Canada are the best!
It's more like inflation is making us sick. That's the reason why too many people are sick because of the high cost of living. HYPERTENSIONS! Your blood pressure goes up every time there is bad news.

NEVER ENDING STORY
TARIFF - taxes imposed on imported goods.
Tariffs are actually been around since 1789 in the United States of America and it is not just happening as if it is such a morbid event. It was under US Pres. George Washington when the proverbial tariff (15%) was known to have evolved. Then former US Pres. William McKinley had enforced tariff just the same. However, he was assassinated for such. Former US Pres. Herbert Hoover also enforced tariff for 20% on imported goods.
US Pres. Trump imposed tariff in 2018-2019. Then this year 2025. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premiers of Canada will have to seek tariff conference, face to face with those who care about how huge 25% tariff will cause the lives of Canadians and American consumers. The meeting conference would change or not the implementation or whatever deals they have to make its always be on US Pres. Trump's decision. Is there a sway vote or what?
Let me remind you of what had happened in the past:
1929 the GREAT DEPRESSION caused stock market to collapse. It crashed! The whole world in chaos. Humans are humans... they are not perfect. You know what they will do?
WORLD WAR I & II followed
WORLD WAR II had created millions of jobs for the US. At the expense of millions of lives loss. Though it's not America who started the war. Just that the NAZI's domination had its expansion all over Europe then to Japan then to Philippines. But it must STOP there. PHILIPPINES & its FILIPINOS had their courage & bravery tested so many times and the Americans knew about this that's why most of the members of the Armed Forces in the USA are Filipinos.
GOD FEARING HUMANS the AMERICANS, educated, religious and yet decided to drop the atomic bombs in JAPAN. Truman, Truman the man the president of the United States of America took the fault instead of Oppenheimer...instead of Einstein. Japanese bowed down one by one including their own King and Imperial Army who had done and committed most of the atrocities of war... the war criminals. WORLD WAR II.
TARIFF support the Government works and expansion. The discharge of debts for millions of Americans. The tariff helped and support manufacturers and its workers.The GOLDEN ERA of WWII had the American lands for agricultural purposes. Machinery abound and harvest of crops much easier and in abundance. The US had become powerful in its nation building and had become highly industrial country in the world. Their expansion of world domination had their goods and services flowed freely like milk and honey.
Americans are fearless, strong and free. They are the braves. BUT it's the opposite now...because CANADIANS ARE BECOMING THE BRAVES. Now that the new US Trump Threat of 25% Tariff had causing global initiative to patronize their own goods and services. The US is now currently at 350 MILLION population they can only just maybe have their own goods and services to themselves. Maybe that's the message. But sometimes, when the message is somewhat wrong this time in our generation.
MAYBE US INTELLIGENCE is all over Canada and they can perceive something is fishy within its population. Hmm... lol. They thought they can fool the Americans!!! LOL. THEY KNOW more than you know. BUT YOU KNOW AMERICANS ARE NOT THE ONLY SMARTEST IN THE WORLD. Think about EINSTEIN, he was born in Germany!! He is German. You think he is American?
That's the reason why TARIFFS will be imposed to punish the Canadians!! If until now you don't know why... you are in denial. TRUMP punishing Canadians for Trump's atrocities? Something is wrong! It doesn't makes sense. The people of America should punish a convicted criminal that's the RULE OF LAW.
Unfortunately, I'm here in Canada so... those Government officials wont admit to some mistakes they committed and that's why the pressures had PM and her Finance Minister resigned. Actually they know their mistakes and they have solution to those mistakes according to Ms. Karina Gould. What happened to Karina Gould?
CANADA has 40 MILLION Population and if that's not enough for them to use, utilize and patronize their own resources and if those surplus are over the limit then have a global expansion without Americans to help in the shipping and distribution of those products. Maybe Canadians relied too much on Americans because they are neighbors. And AMERICANS relied on Russia & China too for the rare Earth, for the goods being distributed around the world to its shipping because they have large cargo ships.
BUT IS THAT A PROBLEM? Think about it. Not all country has a resources or sources similar to each other. There are critical minerals that other countries are so envious about. There are countries with abundance in oil and gas but they don't have source of water.
TARIFF IS GOOD ONLY IF ITS FAIR. 25% TARIFF IS JUST TOO MUCH. UNFAIR, UNJUST & Criminal. Trades nowadays are in millions to billions of dollars. Business wont have profit for it will just pay for the tariff. What is business without profit? You think that's charity? Think about this...even charity profited from too many free donations.
And it's a never ending story. I could go on and on and the pages of this blog would be up to limitless and you'll get tired from reading.

He Could Be Unwell
BRACE YOURSELF it will get costlier every waking days, every waking hours and Tariff hasn't been implemented as it was hold or paused for 30 days (29 days today and counting). You'll be hearing to some people's swearing, screaming and God knows when will the pressure and tension ends.
Thirty days, 29 days waiting period. What now? Do we have to wait without any plans, agenda or purpose to augment what's coming as if its the Apocalypse 2025?
I know too many Canadians are worried. Who wont? Every breathing human beings should worry not only Canadians, not only Americans but the whole world. Tariff is like an outbreak. It's not golden.
GOLDEN RULE: Do unto others as you wont others do unto you.
We don't like the repeat of the Holocaust, the World War II caused by the Great Depression. We don't like another Hitler and NAZI regime. We don't like the Fascist Movement.
Since Year 2020 with the havoc, chaotic COVID-19 the outbreak, the infamous pandemic that caused the economic situation globally plunged to abnormal abysmal zone that wicked level of the unknown virus that cringed, frightened almost the whole world, the whole population of Earth's population and now this... TARIFF THREAT that is questionable as violation of the World Trade Agreement. Anyway, as what the POTUS said, he was misunderstood. MISUNDERSTOOD, huh? Just like the song.

FEBRUARY 2025 - CALENDAR OF EVENTS
FEBRUARY 2025 CALENDAR OF EVENTS. Second month for the Year 2025. It's almost Spring but not quite because every time you think that Springtime is here, then winter cold sets in and who are happy with it? I know our city hasn't receive the most awaited snowfall and snow that wont melt for at least 2-3 days. But you know what, snow should or must stay on top of the mountains where winter fest is held and where kids learn to play and ski. Snowboarding is fun too as much as the toboganing down the slopes of famous Mount Washington.
Can you ski, mogul or do sommersault downhill the snowy capped mountain? Do you know how to skidoo or use sledge? What about slalom? Cross ski and so much more.
What's the most interesting winter sports you know? Well I think if you know how to ski, snowboarding, cross country, snowy mountain hike or just ride the cable or ski-lift...therefore you love winter more than anybody else.
For sure, FEBRUARY would be just amazing as it is.

REMEMBER THE CALIFORNIA GOLD RUSH
California was the site of the famous GOLD RUSH and since then becomes the richest, wealthiest well endowed State of USA. California belong to Spain as one of their global conquest, just like the Philippines, the Spaniards had built so many Spanish schools, university, cathedrals and churches including missionary and convents for the nuns. It has the largest orchards for all kinds of fruits: oranges, apples, cherries, pears, berries including sprawling grape vineyards for winery. All kinds of minerals are mined in California. Gas and oil were also extracted in their land. There are fishing villages and smelter plants but most of all California is the home for the film industry. It is the site of the famous landmark HOLLYWOOD & Universal Studio including Disneyland and other fabulous theme parks, museums, art gallery re: Getty. It is the home of famous Hollywood greats, movie and showbiz personalities and also the home of the richest, wealthiest affluent families. California is the home of Google, Facebook, Microsoft companies. It is the center for software industry and home of the famous hockey teams, baseball team and basketball team.
Are you California dreaming? C'mon still watching non-stop about VICTORIOUS?
At present time, California is devastated by wicked wildfires that are almost uncontrollable according to the news. The Canadians had helped put off the fires by sending hundreds of Canadian firefighters and super scooper water bomber plane. It's almost 3 weeks!! If there's no intervention such as a storm for at least 2 days the wildfires wont stop due to its unruly hurricane winds. However, how long and heavy a storm could mean mudslide and floods that you must pray for just fair showers that would cut off and stop wildfires once and for all.
Good to know that US Pres. Trump and his wife traveled to California to see and check for themselves the result and damage of those wildfires in Pacific Palisades, the ruins and what's left of the remains decimated by fires had him in disbelief as it looks like WWII. Pres. Trump and Gov. Newsom agreed to help California from its worrisome condition.

WHY TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING ANXIETY?
There is no war in our country but the NEWS can make you feel the angst, the anxiety, and worrying day by day by the bad news can be troublesome. It can make you sick. Who are winning if you get sick?
I was told... "You can't win Verna!" (The devils, those demonic ugly creatures always come back to haunt and mocked me almost everyday).
Dude, I WAS BORN A WINNER. I DIED BEFORE. I WAS ABLE TO COME BACK.
The looming war trades between CANADA & USA will soon to affect each and everyone of us here in Canada and most especially in the USA.
California is still being ravaged and damaged by wildfires. The US President informed the public that the US don't need Canadian wood or lumber, milk, gas and oil, cars, they have everything. What is the logistic or the true population of United States of America? In the 70's all countries in the world had scarcity of resources from gas to oil and other natural resources. There are only few countries with those "reserves for the future."
15th to 18th Century BC CANADA had all the reserves every country needs for the 21st Century.
USA can use all its resources and they would easily become stagnant and empty that they might conquer and invade other countries for sure. I HOPE NOT.
