Today, I'm busy once again in preparation for our New Year's Eve Dinner. As usual, it would be very simple, modest, and just exclusively for the family. 

Wishing each and every family the wisdom, the hope, and good blessings from the Lord God Almighty the Creator of heaven and earth. GOOD LUCK to all of us and may the NEW YEAR 2022 brings our families with enough courage, enough patience, good health, happiness, resilience and prosperity.

Our Family's Christmas Tree 2021

 

Our year 2021 Christmas tree. Husband always chooses the Douglas fir tree for our Christmas tree. Most of the tree ornaments were from previous years. However, this time I added to hang some of the small nutcrackers on those branches of the tree. 

I'm gonna be very busy in the next hours to come. As usual have to cook delicious gourmet foods and husband has to roast the young turkey for Christmas Eve dinner. It would be just a simple, modest celebration, nothing fancy.

Whether You Like It Or Not

 Yey! It starts to snow once again... *

Our streets will be slippery and who care would be out there plowing snow? The snow on the streets and ground just few centimeters high only but snow white covered ground is just a beautiful site to see. I don't know how thick or thin the sleet of snow in other parts of the city. 

For me, I love the color white snow on the ground, snow on the mountains, on top of the trees and on top of the roofs of houses and more over the snow on branches of trees. There is something enchanting and magical about snow, snow flakes and the icicles. 

Snowflakes and its millions of wonderful intricate patterns are absolutely lovely and to every artist's observation each pattern is unique and unequal. Each pattern is uniquely delicate and creatively formed into unexplained formation of what its enchanted life could be. 

Snowflakes are made of crystallized freezing cold water. I wonder what other chemicals in it to form such magnetism, prism and structure of magnanimous proportion. It was awe inspiring to have touch a snowflake or billions of snowflakes in just a drop. However, you can only see each beautiful, radiant unique pattern of snowflake through electron microscope. Other than that better just celebrate the holidays with fun in the snow than lament over the pandemic and do nothing.

If you are that strong against any obstacles, you can defeat covid and its variants.

Keep your mind and  body stronger than covid virus, delta and omicron. Eat healthy foods. You don't have to diet.

Keep yourself stronger. Stay safe. Wear face masks outside your comfort zones.

If You're Not A Cook

 Some people might laugh at $1,500 monthly budget for food and cleaning supply for a family and for God sake people, it's better that way than having to queue up at the Food Bank. I know so many millions of people rely on Food Banks especially during the pandemic and certain calamities and disaster. You cannot blame those people. You can only pray that it wont happen to you.

I know some of you are wealthy, so rich and stuck up that you can afford to dine in at fancy restaurants and order $30/meal each for five members of your family, total of  $150/dinner only! Can you just imagine if you spend $150 (without dessert and beverage) every dinner at your favorite gourmet restaurant every Sunday night for one month  that would cost $600 + tip +tax. ($800 including desserts and beverages). Dining at gourmet restaurants is more than a privilege and luxury nowadays.

But some people have no problem with money$$$$$. They have huge problem with cooking food. Or they don't have time to prepare and cook. For two members or just a couple, going out for dinner is more of a saving by dining at restaurants. However, if you have 3 kids or extra kids maybe you wont save any.

The point of having to dine at restaurants and fast-food, no need to clean dishes, cutlery, pots & pans. No need to clean the kitchen. There's no need to use electricity or gas for cooking. No need to use hot water for cooking and cleaning dishes.

Hmmm, wonder how much we can save from having to dine in at restaurants? We really haven't try that option.

The option at my place is: My family has to stay at home and just savour the flavor of my home-cooked meals. Whether they like it or not.

 The whole day was the latest news of price hikes for agricultural products! Lo and behold we knew that it's gonna happen one way or another after those unforgiving calamities of floods and wildfires. Good that there's no snowstorm of the century. 

The "supply chain" and the distribution of goods and services during the devastating calamities had it way too far that the struggling business people will have to do such drastic measures of price hike for their farm goods. Next year!

You can just understand them. Uncertainty that is...

If our grocery bills amounting to over $1,200/month on regular basis, next year would be or probably $1,500/month because of the price hike.

Of course that includes the food (meat/fish/poultry, canned goods, pasta, noodles, bread), softdrinks, juice, cleaning supply, bathroom tissue, paper towels, bath soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, coffee, sugar, milk, vegetables, sack of rice and bags of potatoes. Our coffee consumption would probably less next year. Husband spent $200 worth of Coffee (pods) per month for our Keurig machine. He was thinking of using electric coffee pot instead, much cheaper.

To minimize expenditures, better browse local supermarket flyers, use discount coupons or shop only when products are on "sale."

Being thrifty without being stingy or learn to diet.

Let It Snow...Let it snow ******

 Christmas without snow in Canada is not really CHRISTMAS!

Hanukkah! Last day of Hanukkah for those Israelites or Jews celebrating their Jewish faith.

Of course truth be told that the Canadian meteorologist didn't fail us this time. It snowed last night until daytime at Vancouver island. Wow! Joyous! Thanks be to God!!

Not good for those who will drive to go to their work and students who will go to schools and University.

Unhappy for those who will plow the snow but hey, aren't you paid for such hard work? Be happy that you have extra job. Every pennies count. Every nickel, every dime counts. 

Besides we need the wonderful white snow to cover the ground especially at this time of the year. Snow brought miracles to our water system. They cleaned and sanitized the grounds. It's a cleansing agent that purifies the water and the land area in your place of territory.

So stop the crap and don't be grumpy.

Note: Winter Solstice on December 21. So far we are advance.

What needs to buy or shop next for the next trip to the supermarket? Where? What supermarket and where's that supermarket is located?

What to have for dessert or snack? 

Darn it! Who cares? Who cares what we eat everyday? How are we to cook food and how we should post it here? Who cares about what we eat and what we do everyday?

Do we really have to post that we are not lazy? that we work so hard at home? That every mother works at home. MOTHERS, every mother cooks at home. Mothers cook and clean the house and look after their own children especially if they don't have housemaids or helpers, grandparents  or nanny.

You are born lucky to have the help of your grandparents living in your own house and your parents do not need a babysitter. Your childhood mind has better chance of keeping up the old good memories and forever be in your minds and hearts. Forever memories. Grand cherished memories, wont fade away.

However, when parents, both of them are working so hard to keep the family afloat and have all the basic needs available, nothing to worry, really that's what a fully harmonious financially well endowed family with no problems and no conflict to get worried about. Is there a perfect family like that? Really? The truth is no home is perfect, no family is perfect. I wonder why. You are living a great lie if you will tell me that your home and family is perfect.

So, stop the crap and be honest with yourself. 

Oh, by the way... it's already December and department stores and shopping centers are getting crowded because holidays are fast approaching. Some affluent and wealthy families already are shopping for gifts. Next thing you know... what's left out there are remnants.

For those who would like to give gifts please stop giving me chocolates with peanuts, almonds, cashews, and everything NUTS! is prohibited! STOP GIVING ME perfumes or fragrance that I don't like nor my skin doesn't like it especially those perfumes, colognes, lotion that were tested through plants. Or fragrances that smell urine. Yuck! Don't you have sense of smell?

I'm a human being for God sake! If those fragrances were tested and experimented on plants, which ones? Sumac, poison ivy? What the hell! Please stop giving me cosmetic. How many times have to suggest that to the givers. Maybe they doing it on purpose. Do not give gifts that you don't like. It's like some people give gifts that they don't like and thus, give it to  some people they don't like. Strange right?

There are many valuable gifts that you can give. Gift cheques or gift card is not good for me. CASH is much, much better. Ha ha ha! Well, gift giving should be something that can make a person happy not that you make them miserable of your kind of gift. 

STOP BEING SO CHEAP!

NOTE: Look, I am being annoying. Kids, you think that I'm being mean or the giver is really mean? Think again. Anyway, I believe in Santa Claus when I was a child but I know that it was also a "myth" so I am not that kind of being fooled of who's really Santa because my God, can you not read at age 5 or 6? Whatever. That's right the allergy has that negative implications on my thinking but still I am very straightforward and very frank. Nothing else's matter in this world but honesty and modesty. If you keep on lying to yourself then that's your problem not mine.

OMG! I'm waiting for the snow to arrive sooner than later.

Halloween

 HALLOWEEN party and festivals are celebrated mostly in the US & Canada but five years ago other countries started their own way of celebrating Halloween as means of celebrating it in a fun, spooky way with kids so that they can wear costumes. They can party around being young again even if they are older kids or young adults. Besides, to commercialize anything about costumes-clothing, make-up, pumpkins, lanterns, candles,  chocolates, candies, greeting cards, party stuff and food helping businesses to thrive. As always for commercial purposes. 

Halloween's not heard of in Philippines because 5 to 10 years ago, ALL SAINTS DAY and ALL SOULS DAY are more important because its for the celebration of dearly departed relatives that you have to visit the cemetery and offered prayers, flowers and light up candles.  

I didn't paint or draw caricatures of cartoony or animated images for Halloween this year. I am not in the mood to celebrate Halloween. The pandemic has trigger the sense of priority in everything I do. Well, just pissed about so many things that happened actually. Everyone feels the same kind of hate and anger but some of them don't show it. Afraid to show it or feeling the rage not showing emotions can cause a stroke. Please show it. Help yourself by cursing. There's nothing wrong with saying the right words at the right moment! You'll feel better.

Anyway, whether there are young kids coming and knock at the door for trick or treat...

Hubby bought a box of Dutch Crunch chips (variety pack) + 50 pcs of fruit gummies + 70 pcs. of snack size bars of Oh Henry, Reese's chocolate + Jolly Rancher lollipops + Jolly Rancher sour fruit candies.

I had few Reese's teaspoonful size or bite size of peanut butter nips. Not bad.

Just Those 2 Words

 It happened again.

I had such a very interesting and challenging subject or topic for discussion and suddenly it was deleted accidentally. Not by me but maybe it is what happened to certain computer glitz or hackers are dime a dozen in the blogworld.

It has something to do with "inquiry or questioning politicians" with such problem but maybe not a good thing to open such question. First, they already had enough of it. But reading an article of how much those politicians are paid for their work as in per annum is mind boggling. $185,000+ $80,000/month+ allowance + free car and driver. What can you buy with $265,000 per year salary? LOTS! You can buy so many expensive things. You can buy a million dollar house and pay mortgage monthly of at least $5,000/month + your monthly expenses of $22,083.33 is subdivided for food/clothing/utilities at home and maybe you can pay for housemaids too. But for those politicians whose kids are in College/University that $22,083.33 is not enough. But you know those kids probably are resourceful and make use of their "authoritarian knowledge" and be a member of any clubs and fraternities or sororities that offer freebies or team effort is necessary to do the work faster and maybe will end up in perfect outcome. Based from movies I watched. You think that's your life? It's not always about your life and situation. FGS. You don't want to become just like Peter Solomon in a wheelchair suffering from electrocution.

Being wealthy or super rich is sometimes not a good thing. You end up in Amazing race jumping from high above the plane and parachute down. You're lucky to be alive after. Or jump from high above the bridge. Climb the highest mountain. Scuba dive down the deepest trench. What those would be popes are in competition with? Must be able to survive earth, wind, water and fire death-defying stunts. Sacrifices. Politicians also have sacrifices and sufferings. It's like nothing is achieved without those sufferings and sacrifices. 

Your parents sometimes sacrificed their own happiness just to keep their offspring alive and survive the real world. Some parents sacrifice their own happiness not to separate or divorce for the sake of the sanity, physical and psychological well being of their own kids. Parents suffered from overworking so that they can keep their kids to College and University even if they have to sell their own property and end up being homeless or parents being invalid, sick and on wheelchair just to keep their kids happy with those basic needs they need and want to survive. Nothing in this world without suffering and sacrifices.

Being resourceful. 

How to be resourceful? 

Can you work alone? Some highly achiever individuals can do their works properly just being alone, by themselves. No need for team effort. The team effort is not necessary sometimes for autistic humans. For the perfectionists, no amount of effort is necessary to achieve great things.

What I can't wait is the "organisms" Katherine is studying in their laboratory. One false move that also could lead to tragic event. That maybe there was a novel/movie about INFERNO.

 SUNDAY. Happy or not, today is Sunday and it's a day of worship for the Roman Catholic and Christian community. 

I wonder if the Catholic Church was opened during the pandemic of 1918 to 1919. Any past news or history whether the Catholic Churches were closed down because of such pandemic of Spanish Flu? I haven't find any history or record of such pandemic that closed and shut down the House of Worship for the Catholic and Christians because the Church never shut down even during the many wars in the past. Only the Coronavirus pandemic that shut down the whole economy because of how "powerful & influential  those doctors, nurses and those leaders who are scared of the spread of such virus." Science is what makes them feel the "high and lows." Religion could make you feel the lows and highs, same thing.

DIRTY DOZEN movie ?  Using the criminals to do the filthy works against filthy individuals.

Here's for one thing that boggles my mind... the price of commodities and the price of houses, apartments, condominiums and many dwellings old and new keep on rising its prices and its worth. It could only lead to the population is actually rising not slowing down. That's the mystery.

Heh! lol. Ha ha! 2020-2021 is the mysterious years of how human evolution is acting so weird because maybe aliens from other planet had landed on planet earth and assumed human transformation. Masking is first the rule of disguise so that they can study earthlings on how they thrive and survive. Infiltration that is.

Race issue is always a by-product of survival. Always that rat race first and foremost. You are being studied like laboratory rats.

Because of this DESIDERATA was created so that you can survive from all the wrongs, unfairness and injustice. How you can be stronger, wiser and wont feel alienated.

How about recommending you that brand new suspense/mystery CREAMERIE, a television series that tackles a futuristic event. What if 99% of the population of human male decimated because of viral plague and only 1% of these men end up alive? Why only men are dying and only women have to live? What kind of virus that lead to such exodus?

Oh my! Don't you like SOUP for lunch and dinner? The Japanese soup with soba noodles is good but the spicy Korean ramen with kimchi soup is much better. LOL.

 

Hello, Monday Morning!

 My sewing project-the continuation. I told myself that could wait but then I have spare time and I don't like wasting time.

This is it.

I also have pair of skorts and spaghetti-style tank top for this blazer. It's a terno. 

Snack time: Crackers, 2 types of cheese, salami, pepperoni. 

 I know it is too tiring to cook nowadays. I am running out of idea on what to cook everyday not that our fridge is empty but it's not. Redundancy on the menu for the day, for the week is kind of boring already. I want to cook something for myself but other members of the family wont eat them. It's hard to prepare, cook and serve for fuzzy, picky eaters. 

Ah, we'll just have pepperoni cheese pizza. Easy, convenient to bake in the oven and we'll just have heavy dinner for tonight.

Better to stay away from bad news and avoid names, numbers, and situations not included in the plan. No sports or games for me. The hell with those whom they want to be affiliated with. Avoid watching the red light, green light of the stock market. The outcome of such colors lead to high blood pressure or hypertension. You think that's SQUID GAME?

Uhm, watched the latest episode of SEAL TEAM. Good for them they have new episodes. Tonight is the continuation of  DAN BROWN's > THE LOST SYMBOL.

Evil Fury

 It was quite stormy today at 11 C! Wow! Okay, that's not unbelievable. It is during September to October when suddenly storms are frequently visible, windstorm, snowstorm and a lot of barriers to everything and everyday happenings. What surprising is when I saw the news on TV News about the sudden snowfall somewhere in Okanagan and Kelowna. It is at the interior part of BC and there was once wildfires in those areas. ? How that happened?

So, the pandemic surge of news is happening again and don't know whether it's fake news or fact news. It is at the time when over 50% to 73% are fully vaccinated and blaming the unvaccinated the cause of such spread. OMG! Can we all just study Philosophy please.  If its over 50% people are vaccinated then the pandemic should have been cut down or eliminated. I don't know how they comprehend the language which is English.

Take this as for example of  what English should be in comprehension... You probably heard of asymptomatic, the term "asymptomatic." Some people are sick of Covid-19 but they are asymptomatic as in they are not showing any symptoms.

In MEDICINE, if you don't have symptoms of such ailment you are not sick of COVID-19. Doctors who had more experience than news reporters when it comes to Medicine should otherwise prove that to you. You can also read Medical Books or watch DR. HOUSE medical series and learn something. Some people are so weird. They should watch Dr. Death tv series too. Maybe those doctors and news reporters gaining from COVID NEWS are related to DR. DEATH.

You know they don't even know that one of the Friend's star show is now a doctor and frequently been asked about the spread of COVID-19. Too many actors and actresses posing as doctors on TV explaining the spread of this infamous virus.  

I think there are criminals who are spreading misinformation about the spread or actually spreading the virus just like those humans who are spreading AIDS. What you gain from it? Probably because of the amount of fund being raised for such disease. For as long as the pandemic raises its fury, the more funds in millions and billions of dollars are coming from different sources. Real evil.

Look, nothing's wrong with vaccines and vaccinations but if it's use to topple a good government, good leader and the good economy just as to promote blunders and barriers to progress and hinder the economic condition of a country or every country in the world just as to promote pharmaceutical products. Excessive amount of product promotion or advertisement is somewhat fakey. Don't over do it. Well, unless if the pharma is the only source of that country's wealth and intelligence. When there's nothing anymore to use nor any other source to augment the economy. Huh!? Foul eh? That's wrong! So weird already but that's what is happening for the past 18 months already as if the earth never spins anymore on its axis nor revolt or stop its revolution around the sun.

Hey, World War I & II had it AXIS OF EVIL and if they somehow into revival of such evil then how you can control and stop it?

Happiness is What You Make It

 I'm in search for more fabric to sew but unfortunately there are only few remnants in my boxes. Maybe one of these days have to shop at Fabricland or at Walmart for fabric. I'm also running out of threads. There are few clothes for repair. All these can wait for now.

Hmm, maybe I will start my crochet project.

I was looking at this picture and thinking maybe I could crochet a sweater. I have crochet tools to begin with and have to buy spools of  yarn. Cotton yarn is best for sweater. The wool is something I don't appreciate because can cause allergy.

It's getting cooler and cooler every day now.

Hey, people don't you love the cold weather temperature in September? 

October is something we have to be happy about. Snowy winter wonderland to celebrate Thanksgiving Day? Wow! 

Anyway, hope everything's okay with everyone and if the bad news keep bothering you until now...better change channels. That's what I do. Change channels and find something worthy to watch or to keep busy about such as: Cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, craft-making, housecleaning, reading books, reading blogs, laundry, blogging, photography

New Tops

 Because I was in the good mood, the cooler air and breeze had me return to my usual jolly sewing of trendy tops. I am being crafty once again. Why not? 

So, I decided to take photos of my newly sewn blouse or top.

The Burmese style of the sleeves is uniquely sewn to fit my arms and shoulders.

Just a simple blouse (top) but it is fashionable and I like the fabric of spandex/cotton with the beautiful, majestic design/print of a peacock's feathers. Actually more like an enchanted colorful print of magnificent ferns.

If I'm not impressed with my own creation better purchase a blouse, dress or clothing from department store. Duh, only if I don't have enough time to sew my own dress or tops. However, it is economically cheaper to buy than make your own clothes.

The blue top I bought from Walmart looks fabulous. 

Anyway, I'm happy with the tops I sew, created with my own hands and choosing clothes made by other seamstress is just no big deal. It's an individual choice. I love clothes especially when they are new, scented and fresh. 

Few weeks from now and the weather temperature will be very favourable for all of us in Canada. Yey! Autumn season means cooler air. Fresh cold air and we all have to clothe ourselves with thick clothing: sweater, cardigan, tunic, long pair of pants, coat and it is more fashionable as usual wearing scarves, toques, jackets and gloves.

Not The Mark Of The Beast

 The great economy is driven by buyers and sellers. Without buyers and sellers the economy is not of equal importance to keep the economy in better shape. Well, there is an economy of just barter, a trade or exchange of goods and services without the use of monetary currency. How would the professionals such as your accountant, doctors, lawyers, businessmen and politicians conduct their expertise on barter?

Would you like to be paid a bag full of rice with a bag full of vegetables? 

Would you like to pay your doctors with a box of cotton balls for their service?

How about paying teachers with a box of chocolates for their monthly service of teaching your kids?

Who would benefit the child tax benefit? Only those parents whose got kids of course. You hope they also pay for the sheep. Mee mee goat! lol. j/k  What benefit those seniors received who worked their whole life and pay taxes? Politicians, sure you will grow old and retire, what are your expertise when it comes to old people like you? You should think about your future right, when you grow old. It's not that you will move to other countries and spent your earnings of $150,000 per year you earned while in office. It's not a mockery but you should think about your parents too. Nobody is rich in Canada. Are you richer than anybody else? Nobody is rich when you grow old because the price of commodity goes up and the price of living never goes down.

Is there somebody out there or humans  who feel they had the mark of the beast already?

Can you touch your vaccinated arm and then place a teaspoon on that spot and find out if the metal spoon stays there for a minute or two.

If that doesn't work, get another vaccine. Maybe the second vaccine will work.

OMG! Ha ha. Jokers. I was reading a lot of nonsense lately. But you know there's really nothing to laugh about. 

Many years ago, in Philippines after the immunization in 1976 and the megabuilding of edifices and mega structures for businesses, security guards used metal detectors for every passers by and every one will be subjected for metal detection and everyone gets the beep. Beep, beep! It was ridiculous right? For security reason. It was nothing sort of a hysteria. Nobody feels alienated. However, the slow people gets hyper. The hyper and the highly intelligent beings become slow. Or just probably coincidence. Anyway, that was not the mark of the beast. If it's the mark of the beast you don't need to use money in order to buy and sell. With the mark of the beast, you can have whatever you want, whatever you desire without paying.

 Today is another FRIDAY THE 13th. Not the gory, horror movie though. But you'll never know, maybe it is available once again in the movie channel for free viewing.

I stayed late last night just to watch the movie "The Bridge On The River Kwai." I watched this old movie at a very young age because my father likes watching war movies. This movie is very extraordinary  in the sense that miscommunication played a part on this tragic story of how war was conducted. It was just a simple bridge - engineering project turned awry, controversial and misaligned that led to tragedy. Crazy. Websters dictionary and translation from English to Japanese seemed so futile, if only they have intelligent transcribers or interpreters way back then. Japanese Vs British Vs Americans. How language bears the brunt and how World War II happened and how millions of people died and perished because of such miscommunication. It's a matter of principle for high commanding officer, it was a matter of high pride for the Japanese officer (who can speak the English Language however had the feeling of superiority complex because he studied in Britain) and the American way of doing it and then the blame game after. B.S. lol opps j/k

FACTS OF LIFE: Cheap labor is really very cheap at war time. Sometimes, the captured enemies or POW's are not paid and not given the opportunity and so many of them > Japanese soldiers had violated human rights and the protocols of the Geneva Convention never again. Enough of World War II and enough of the World War III. Enough of the PANDEMIC. Enough COVID news. It is crazy already. No one is his right mind or anybody's mind to prolong the news of COVID and the strategy of fear mongering. The whole world is in chaos, panic and in paranoia on who's who to believe. Have some conscience. PLEASE STOP LYING.

I have just finished reading another novel by the famous author of books, Wilbur Smith's "Elephant Song." As usual it is about adventure, misadventure, the story of Dr. Daniel Armstrong, a TV naturalist covered and filmed the slaughter of herds of elephants, whose jungle knowledge and skills had proven to be life saver for him and how he came out alive from the madness of those evil humans seem no bound until the very end that justice must be served for no one is above the law. The first 25 pages of the book was about slaughter of the herds of pachyderms for meat and  precious expensive ivory of course. So many thousands of these valuable animals are sort to be a pest for those whose land was ravaged by the herds and the vegetation that they could no longer hold because of their presence, that those men thought those animals are causing their livelihood to fluctuate, living them empty handed, of poverty and hunger. Whew! Too controversial indeed that better not add up to this "real or fictional situation" or you know some animal activists might get alerted. It is a good read but at the same time too tragic to even comprehend when humans are caught in the struggle, human lives are more important than animals. You wont believe how certain human beings are without soul and without conscience. Greed for power and greed for human flesh...as usual, the prolific novelist can make his readers feel the pain, the anguish and it's not hard to get pissed off at those crazy, evil characters in the book.

My hubby has a complete set, collection of WILBUR SMITH'S BOOKS, collection of books he had since before year 1991. There are other complete collection of books penned by DOUGLAS REEMAN and PATRICK O'BRIAN in his bookcase, just so you know why I am only reading WS's it's because the boring pandemic news of Coronavirus, and the many non-stop airing news of ambiguosity had given me enough time to read what I can read and discover the many maladies of old century's troublesome world. It is from Wilbur Smith's novel that I found rabies to be interesting and how it happened and how rabies, cholera, tuberculosis, diarrhea, pox, AIDS, ebola and malaria are explicitly described. So far, haven't read in his books about leprosy, chimera and some other deadly diseases.

The SAINTS

 It was a pleasant Saturday morning yesterday. I have line-up of my tasks for the day. After all tasks are finished, I retreat back to my bedroom and watched the movie " The Messenger: The Joan Of Arc Story." It was the life story of the saint named Joan, the very devout Catholic, innocent little girl whose innocence has been tarnished due to the many unpleasant circumstances beyond her wildest dreams and those dreams are not only visionary but some of them are realities of what tragic war is all about, the devastation, the frailties, the rotten disease of deception, humiliation, and the pragmatic effect of whose who in power. There is that power grab that influences the superstitious belief, the power that divides between rich and poor, the savagery, the barbaric tortures and when you don't have the power because you are just a peasant, uneducated and that what led to the torment and anguish of the saintly girl who were unfairly put into trial because those who are in power who are mostly filthy, rotten very stinky  men thought she was a witch. Was she really a witch? Was her vision sort of imagined, illusion or hallucination? Nobody knows until she was hailed a Saint after century of trials and persecution and miracles unfold one by one to the ones who were giving the test.

The famous actress Mila Jovovich played the role of Joan of Arc in this unforgettable movie. Excellent acting. Her performance is almost surreal and magnificent. It brought a miraculous story to an almost forgotten story of a saint.

OMG! What's really the secrecy and secret about Joan? Is she Queen Elizabeth I? 

Oopsi. Just kidding. She could be Saint Bernadette Soubiros. That's what it is with SAINTS they can reincarnate themselves if God want to and so what is her next disguise?

Happy & Sad Moments

 It's quite too late for me to blog today at 11:33 AM but what the heck the day is not over yet. If you know what I mean.

Actually I was awaken by the noise downstairs so I checked what was happening at 2:30 AM. I was surprised that my hubby was wide awake watching tv show at dawn! He informed me that it was too hot for him to sleep and drown in sweat. I know why it's so hot as if we are living in the equator. Something is really weird right? Maybe it wont be that inconvenient if we have a centralized air conditioned rooms. Whatever! We don't like paying $700 for hydro bills per month just because we want A/C convenience.  It's okay, we can survive the heatwave. Just  settle for electric fan. It wont be long and summer is over and autumn will soon be here at the island. By that time the wildfire or kaingin system is over. Hey, that could be kaingin system eh? Or that's the sodom and gomorrah situation wildfire just like what's in the Bible story. Heh! Not trying to infuse the wildfire or the spread of rumors.

We watched the homecoming arrival of the  Toronto Blue Jays team to Roger's baseball arena and it was the first time that only 15,000 spectators are allowed. Some of them followed the protocols, so be it.

 

Usually, the whole arena is full of people with the capacity of at least 45,000. However, due to the pandemic the management allowed only 15,000 for it audience to watch the live baseball game TBJ against KC Royals. Frontliners: medical health workers, military personnel, civilians were there to participate in the program. I first thought Justin Bieber will be there to sing the Canadian national anthem. Hmm...strange. It's good to see them play in Toronto after all there is only one baseball team in Canada and to think that most of the players were actually imported (?). Result of the game: TBJays (6) KCRoyals (4)

After the game, hubby and I went to Walmart to purchase a brand new electric flat iron. It has a 2 year warranty. I had chosen this brand because my old flat steam iron is the best that we ever had.

 

I just couldn't believe that my old flat iron is gone and wont function anymore. After long years, very long years of helping me ironed my family's clothes and now its gone, gone...

Goodbye Black and Decker. You've been so handy and useful for the past 21 years.

 Thank God it's Friday! In blogging, it is very useful and beneficial to blog what is of today, what is happening today not what happened in the past unless of course if you want some flashbacks or you want to be very dramatic. Over acting is not my cup of tea.

Watching movies or television series with plenty of flashbacks in its story is awful. Very awful. You want a story that is vivid, direct, straight, and straight forward.

I think it is best to move forward. Forget about the bad past. You don't want to regret the past and moving forward is the best that you can do for yourself, for your own mental health and the better health for your own family and friends.

Double, Doubles. Double Standard

 Wow! The weather temp. this morning is only 8 C! Almost winter temp. but probably that's the temperature at the airport. Outside temp. is only 14 C and inside the house is 20 C when the door is open. Well, that's good enough provided that the sun will be covered by clouds up in the sky or at least if there is a useful wind that blows every now and then, otherwise summer is not over yet.

The wildfires within BC interior provide the province with inferno-setting. OMG! Non-stop uncontrollable wildfires and whether there are newly recruit firefighters from Mexico, do you think they can able to put the fires off? Hey, it is within BC, British Columbia! Why not British firefighters? Whoah! Whatever! Clueless me.

Wildfires had its extension in Winnipeg and California. Uhm, wonder what happened in the year 1921. So I searched for what really happened in History during 1921 and what's this? What happened in July thr. history from the past.  You know history sometimes repeats itself. Crazy right?

 Viands keep repeating itself. lol

Roast whole chicken with gravy, rice, boiled potatoes, steamed broccoli, and my favourite viand: jackfruit with shrimps, pork, bell peppers, spices in coconut milk. Our simple delicious meals for supper. 

After dinner, watched tv series and shows such as: HOUSE medical series, CBC NEWS, CTV NEWS (Controversial news on allowing Americans who are fully vaccinated to enter Canada but Canadians are not allowed to enter at American borders, yep, it is very STRANGE, Dr. Strange) (Simply COVID-19's almost eradicated but not the DELTA VARIANTS).

 SPORTS NEWS: featured Canada played USA in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, then BIG BROTHER 23 show (Derek Xiao won the Power of Veto again, 2nd time, Britani and Frenchie nominated for eviction). We also watched SEINFELD's show of old reruns. 

Hmmm...

 When suddenly the BLOGGER world is being infiltrated by unknown entities...whom you gonna call?

Oh my God! What's happening with our BLOGGER website? Is there a crash that happened in the website? What could be? It's all speculations, guessing, and all the hype of not knowing what's the true impact of the heatwave and causing panicky consequences at the blogging world.

Blogger had a crash? CRASHed down.Power failure? What could be? The effect of the heatwave cause the crash? Rather, the BLOGGER website crashed because of the extreme heatwave?

Even my own page is ridiculously being targeted by hackers and whoever the culprits are should pay for the intrusion. I know that being in the internet has lots of consequences and knowing you cannot have internet blogs without paying for connection and most of all without your own computer and page site. We pay our internet connection religiously and as a matter of fact the bill is staggering high but it was paid religiously. It was a bundle: TV/PHONE/INTERNET. 

We never use our telephone. Oh truth is seldom we use our telephone, only if we have to call somebody special. lol. Or if somebody called us. Most of the time, hubby has his own cellphone and that what he uses most of the time for calls. I am not a telephone addict. I don't own a cellphone, don't feel like talking. My hands talk too much. If you know what I mean. It feels like my hands are smarter than my----! Oopss. J/K, of course I'm kidding.

There is something that BLOGGER has to know such as the symbol or icon used by GOOGLE for Google accounts. It has changed, when I used the Windows 10. Something weird happening in the net world. I'm not a computer savvy so weird things happening as in so bizarre!

Data and information can be deleted even if its SAVED. How could that be? Before what was SAVED cannot be deleted, only it can be deleted by author or writer of this blog format. 

This is what hackers do. Hackers can do damage to computers,they steal passwords and act as if they own your blogs. They showed on TV shows and talked like portuguese men and women of war and tell the public "about who they are disguising with." However one stupid was caught age 44. She's playing the notorious pirate and was extremely happy that her hacking can pay her staggering bills. Ha! probably collecting lots of cryptocurrency. She's a spy. Not good enough because she was caught. HA HA!

Inconvenient Truth

 RECORD BREAKING HIGH OF 42 degrees Celsius! Whew! We survived! 

It's now down to 28 C but that was unusually hot too. The normal summer temperature is 23 C to 26 C. Anything over that temperature is extremely hot and over 40 C is dangerously HOT.

We are keeping ourselves hydrated. We drink lots of bottled water, juice, pop with ice cubes to quench thirst. The heatwave is causing everyone very thirsty. Our fan rotating non-stop giving us the air ventilation that we need. Too bad that we only have one electric fan. The other 2-in -1 fan that we had was thrown away when we moved to another house. It's not a wreck. It's just somebody thought that we wont need it in this home. We cannot find an A/C or even a rotating fan for sale at HD, CT, WM and any other department stores, as in those machines are out of stock. Who would have thought that Canada will have over 40 to 42 C temperature? If you are a true Canadian born in Canada,  15 C to 20 C is way too HOT for comfort.

I've been here in Canada, living here actually for the pat 30 years and 20 C to 25 C is hot and over 40C can make me whiney full of complaints. Who wont be? People from other countries probably are happy with this kind of weather simply they came from the desertland and badlands.

Looking at the news, listening and watching at those news on TV where their pets also suffered from the extreme heat. They complained that their pets are suffocated from the heatwave. Dudes, please be honest it's YOU who are exhausted and suffering more than ever. ha ha! being modest. That's what it is with Canadians trying to hide what they feel using their pets for all the discomfort and inconvenience.

There is a water restriction on how many times you can water your lawns.  Okay, that's normal during at summer time. Water conservation. 

However, never ever forget to bathe and shower, because your body (skin) needs water too.

Take a bath in the morning and shower at night so that you'll feel better during the heatwave.

When I'm Not The Cook For That Special Day

 I started boiling potatoes and eggs for potato/egg salad early morning, yesterday. I told myself better earlier than usual because I know the heatwave starts before 12 nn or in the afternoon.

Hubby was expecting pizza, he thought  I was baking the square pizza in the oven and we'll have the pizza for lunch instead. That was before 11 AM. Nope. So he went out and I don't even know what he's up to.

He came home after me and my kids had finished our lunch meals. He told me that he was in search for that electric fan that was on the flyer, which actually is advertised last week and fans are out of stock already. With thousands of people buying electric fans and air cons what do you think will happen?

So, while looking for such items, he bought and brought home some stuff: Oven-hot roast whole  chicken, bbq spare ribs, and Mediterranean penne-pasta salad. 

 

He told me no need to cook something for supper because the weather temp. is already high. Well, you know the temp. is extremely high at about 32 C to 36 C. That was HOT! For BC weather temperature that is unusual. Don't you think people?

Don't let yourself get dehydrated. Drink enough fluids: water, juice, pop or whatever drinks that quench thirst. Take a shower daily or twice a day. Keep your homes ventilated. Open your windows to let the air flow freely.

Sometimes, it's nice to eat something prepared and cooked by somebody else. I don't have to use the oven for roasting chicken and less heat inside the house.

Today, the forecast could even higher than 38 C to 41 C tomorrow. If you are being suffocated by the extreme weather temperature yesterday, today and tomorrow at 41 C what could be the impact?

 

Yeah, first thought the weather temperature in Canada can be controlled. lol.

 It could, by the power of millions of minds interacting. Just like atoms uniting for one common goal.
