Let It Go

Time to let go of our 2016 Christmas tree. My daughter had so much fun decorating it without my help and that's a good thing. I just added those 15 cute, green butterflies with sparkles which  I bought from Dollarama. It's the 30th of December 2016 and everyone's planning their New Year's Eve dinner and party. So we have to keep those ornaments for storage next year. Let go of the tree so that those needles from douglas fir wont fall on the floor. Keep the house spic and span. Cleaned the windows and blinds. Used Swiffer duster for tables and counter tops and mop floor for better clean-up.

I don't have any plan whatsoever because we live in a small city at the island and New Year is no big deal. I don't even know if there will be fireworks because fireworks only happened in bigger cities such as Vancouver mainland, in Toronto, maybe in Victoria. However, my sister invited me at their home for the celebration of New Year. Uhm, maybe that's great eh?

To ring the New Year you have to be noisy, you must produce SOUND.
And my husband's receiving lot of calls from everywhere.
Tenants having problem with sink that needs plumbing service.
Tenant having problem with roof leaks.

Tsk! tsk! tsk!

HAPPY, PROSPEROUS, HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

It's Not All About Hair

Five years ago with my daughter Tam on the photographs above.

 Then now, December 28, 2016

It seems like yesterday. Five years, haven't changed much. I just noticed that my hair grows faster than my daughter's hair. I had my hair  trimmed to appropriate length and had 8 inches cut off from my hair last month (November 2016) and looks like my hair is now 10 inches longer. It's weird right?

My hair consumed a lot of shampoo, conditioner and water. My hair needs a lot of brushing because they are so thick. My hair is not that of " O Henry nor Entangled."

I have silver hair but I managed to keep them black, dark brown or brunette. I don't think I will look blonde if I dye my hair blonde. If you have gray hair keep it dark so that you wont have blurry vision or have those lightning strikes accompanied with migraines.

What about if I have a short hair instead? Just like this one on this picture? Hmm...I'll think about it. later...

It's not all about hair... it's about ROOTS!

It's not that easy being me!

Everyday Is Jesus's Birthday!

Boxing Day today but remember everyday is JESUS's birthday! Everyday we have to pray for gratitude, to give thanks for the many blessings that we received. We praised Jesus, the son of God for He has redeemed us from sins. He saved us and make us humble. He taught us humility and kindness.

His sacred holy birth is the sign of miracle that we have to believe everyday. You and I are believers and we must always be a witness to a miracle of being reborn time and time again.

Christmas 2016

I think this Christmas 2016 is the busiest of all in celebration for a Christmas Eve family dinner, simply because we have my sister and her family, my 3 nieces and their 2 friends with them and my husband's couple of friends joined us in making a humble yet happy festive celebration of sharing food, wine and desserts.

My husband woke up early morning to prepare the ingredients for bouillabaise which consist of different kinds of seafood and herbs and spices: shrimps, mussels, scallops, salmon, manila clams, leeks, fennels, onions, spring onions, parsley, black peppercorn, salt, saffron (tiny specks of saffron cost $12) orange rinds, tomatoes, etc. I cooked a special kind of pancit noodles (farkay combi vermicelli) with veggies, pork and shrimps, beef pasta rotini, fruit salad, vegetable salad with dill dressing. Shrimp rings, scalloped bacons, chili wrapped with cheese for appys. We went to M&M's Food mart to buy some more appetizers. Then they brought some food  such as embutido and spring rolls plus fruit cake. The couple friends of husband brought assorted sweets: butter tarts, lemon squares, shortbread cookies. We have a choice of wine selection and beverages: Chardonnay, Vodka, Chivas Regal, Wiser's, Merlot, Kahlua, Peller Estates, and 2 sparkling berry grape juice + peach-grape juice, cranberry juice and lots of pops and Van Houtten coffee, + Clamato juice + Woodbridge from Andre' and Leslie. Thanks!!! We don't have crabs this time of the year. One of the friends would rather have crabs. Come to think of it, it's only this Christmas when we don't have crabs. That's rather unusual eh? But we have TURKEY & LECHON!

At first, everyone's not feeling at home until few hours later and after dinner that everyone becomes comfortable, maybe its because there's really nothing much to open and offer the right conversation in that moment of time. I'm always been talkative but it's impolite sometimes to ask without offending somebody. Well, it was like that in every occasion, in every party, everywhere. Only at first hour that everyone were at uneasy then later on people gets tipsy. I have 32 GB of memory in my digital camera and I feel uneasy too whether my "guests are comfortable with "picture taking"  I know they have cellphones with camera and they can take pictures too but digital camera have wider lens and wider space. Oh I think some of them do not like being photographed, just like my sons who are camera shy. My daughter feels the same way. I was shy too when I was their age. I don't like camera and being photographed is terrifying when I was young. I'm afraid that I'll be photographed as snobby face , pouting lips, frowning, eyes closed,  not being photogenic, or self-conscious. That the light focus will not be up to my expectation. That I will look having dark skin when I'm not dark. Or having white skin when my skin tone is just fair or light brown. Worse of all when the photograph turned  out ugly when I'm not ugly. Well, those are the many hang-ups or hassles that everyone used to think about themselves and I'm not alone with that common mind-thinking. ha ha Whatever! I don't need to explain myself do I have to? ... eh?

That's why the SELFIE promotion was discovered and millions of people are addicted to that kind of photographing themselves in modern times.

So okay, better take pictures of food... for now. lol

After hearty dinner, we all have our pictures taken to remember our traditional family Christmas Eve dinner 2016.

Me, my sister Ems, my daughter Tam, Clarizze and my husband at the background, living room.

My daughter, my nieces, brother-in law Romy, friends at the background: Andre and Leslie

My 3 nieces: Karen, Tina, Cathie

My sister and daughter. I think my sister is already tired and sleepy. She worked from 7 AM to 6 PM today that's why.
I looked tired and sleepy too because I woke up early in preparation for our hearty dinner.

See, what I told you? At least my niece Cathie smiles perfectly here and told me that she needs to practice smiling from now on especially that she will be photographed so many times on her upcoming nuptial next year.

Congratulations on your engagement (engaged to be married) with the lucky man Rob.

My husband  RL photographed me and my daughter Tam before we unwrap our gifts.

Okay, that's enough for now. Here's wishing you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a HAPPY PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!

BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!

Busy Friday

I don't know if its about the winter pensive mood or stressful mode that my husband gave one of my son the sermon today. My very shy timid son who likes his hair long as if he is competing with my daughter and I when it comes to the longest hair ever! Truth is,  if I don't trim my black hair it will be down to my toes and I'm stepping them every time I walk. I had a haircut recently because the length is almost 32 inches. My son's hair was almost shoulder length that he needs to have a hair cut too or else his hair will be longer than my daughter's hair. Besides, with his beard on his face and the way he acts, he looks like younger version of Jesus Christ. Wish that if he is not shy he should try showbiz or Hollywood... you know what I mean. j/k

So husband took my son to the barber shop and thank goodness the shop is open. And FGS! I thought it would be an army cut that he'll ask the barber but no, his hair is still long, down to his ears. Ok, ok he is wearing his favorite toque that's good enough.

I've been busy the whole day cleaning the house, cleaning the sofa, 2 recliners, love seat, and re-arrange the position of the dining table. The house is too small that the furniture are closer to each other. It is an open concept again where living room, kitchen and dining room are "open" for everyone to see. The smell of food will be all over the house again. Isn't that wonderful?

My husband is too busy too because as usual he needs to attend to his regular work and because he had additional extra work this month (and maybe next year) consider that as blessings. Blessings because he is paid for his work.

I managed to finish  wrapping some gifts and placed them at the bottom of the Christmas tree. Everything's okay after dinner and after some preparation of desserts, then time to relax. I was relaxing in my room when I realized that I have to unload the clean clothes, towels, and linens from my dryer machine.

Ciao! I'm really too tired to blog today. See you tomorrow! Goodnight readers.

Written or Unwritten? What's the Point?

It's really nice to post pictures of the house, the many different rooms such as bedrooms, living room, kitchen and the foyer, terrace, patio, garden, sewing room if there's any or office room or computer room and let other people admire the house and all its splendor but for what?

Maybe I posted the pictures of the house and the many jobs done by my husband as a carpenter/contractor. That the house shows or features the painting of the walls, the crown moulding above the ceiling, the tiling of kitchen walls, ceramic tiles on the floors, then the wood laminated floor, or real wood floors done at the living room.

If you have a blog you want to show off because the house could be part of the story. I used to do that for reason not to show off about how beautiful the house or how many appliances but to show that I cleaned the house. That I don't galavant and visit other houses just to spread rumors or gossip about other people. Household chores are too much sometimes and here goes the gossip that my life sucks because I always do the tasks or chores done by housemaids. Or just because I love the touch and feel of water on my hands? Ha ha!

I think nobody is lazy in Canada when it comes to house cleaning and keeping the house in order. Having cleaning tools can make you function like what's wrong with keeping the house clean. However, sometimes there's a time when I feel so bored of the same o, same o task. I'm only human. I get tired sometimes.

Besides, Canada is a place not to be idle with. It is not a country when you can keep on dropping by from one house to another and chat. When you are over 50 you should not be a problem to your kids. Or kids should not be a problem to their parents. When you are over 20 you are not teens anymore. You should be at least graduates in College or at least working and providing yourself with salary or wages that you can be happy about not relying too much on your parents.

Well, sometimes a College degree is an option, sometimes is not an option if you are that smart just like Mark Z. or Bill Gates. I bet no matter how rich they are they will always tell their children or kids that it's always better to work after achieving College education. There are too many successful showbiz stars who are really, really successful not because they have College degree but because they are smart and talented. You must have skills. My kids are smart and talented, problem is they are shy and introverts.

To get what you want nowadays depends on your stamina, talent and skills plus you must have enough thick skin. Be tough. Our generation is about being enthusiastic, being industrious, be talkative. You must have to communicate and use your language properly to get what you want. Otherwise, it will always be just dreams and imaginations.

WINter: Be A Bear

It's windy today. The wind speed is probably 40-50 km/hr and the swaying of the trees can be seen like as if there's that huge fan that keeps the wind blowing and the trunk of the trees are also moving. There's that big tall tree at one of the neighbor's house backyard and I can only pray that the tree will stay rooted on the ground. At about past 4 PM when the wind stopped and only mild air can be felt. There's no storm it's just that it's windy. Gusty wind.

The snow has melted in other parts of the area in the neighborhood, however  there's that few inches of  wet snow on the ground at the backyard that are left from the downpour yesterday. Cold outside and warm inside the house. It's always been adjustment as the key task living at the island. Headaches gone and headaches here to stay. On and off temperament and of course that cause stress and pain.

Worse? All the old movies are out in movie channels such as : Deck The Halls (movie about non-stop fight between two richy neighbors and the waste of energy) Redemption, another movie of Jason Statham (another version of a soldier turned vigilante and a nun who was actually a rape victim and has committed murder to save herself from the rapist), then movie about the Persian Prince. Then the TV series 30 minute episode of KIM's CONVENIENCE. Why it's not good to fix toilet bowl when you are not wearing gloves to protect yourself and not washing hands to clean yourself? And the many documentaries about unearthing ancient treasures where the treasure hunters are reckless not to wear safety gloves. OMG! We have to watch the movie of Tom Hanks's  INFERNO.

Every night we watch the new ICE FANTASY (Chinese epic drama on TV). The series is based on the bestselling novel CITY OF FANTASY, penned by Guo Jing Ming. A battle between the Ice Tribe and Fire Tribe. Story about Prince Ka Suo, who is about to be crowned by the Ice Tribe when their special guest from the Fire Tribe Xin Jue was mysteriously killed and the many conflict start from there. Beautiful and handsome cast of characters, beautiful, magical wardrobes, and wonderful cinematography. Nobody's ugly in this television drama except the ugliness of personality and greed for power. Great combination for a great movie.

Then you heard the commercial SRIRACHA. OMG! Again. SRI-RACHA! Say it louder >> (((Sri- rat- cha.)))

Funny?

Ha ha! It's officially WINTER!

And the snow has melted?!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Trees

I don't think there is that perfect tree out there even if there is that almost perfect poem of Joyce Kilmer about a "tree."

The perfect tree for Christmas tree is the "artificial tree" for Christmas tree because all the branches are measured according to one definite size and shape.

As usual the Christmas tree that we have is not the fake or artificial tree but you know the real tree with real branches and twigs and the shape is irregular and imperfectly not measured. Some branches are not longer and some branches and twigs are shorter. It's an irregular imperfect natural cedar tree. Then add different colors of ornaments and it's a smash of colors that hurt my eyes. It's full of contrast. No uniformity. Husband and I already fought on this tree. He doesn't like me making any comment of what he had chosen or what is his opinion because he thinks he is always right. For him I don't have a right. I can't make any comment or make an opinion. To make our home in a silent mode better not argue. Keep being quiet. No talking. Nothing. This is the same with my kids too. We don't talk inside the house and everything's quiet and calm. He doesn't like to hear my voice but he always talk to somebody who is so "loud." Unfair? Maybe he likes to read instead. He reads my blog I think. He should read this part.

Thank God there's an internet. Thank God I have a blog. This is my voice.

Our 2016 Christmas tree. I don't like it. I think using one colored ornament is better than having too many assorted colors for decoration.

Better have that Christmas tree looks better... How about this?

Year 2013

Year 2014

Year 2015

Truth is a Christmas tree looks satisfying when there are gifts underneath the trunk of the tree. But it's too early to have those gift  boxes on the floor.

Wine Glass Writer

Do you have wine glass writer? You should have it especially during the holidays when you serve wine, whiskey or champagne. Use that special pentel pen and write your name on the wine glass you are using or drinking from.

Why? Because when people are drunk they don't know whose glass they are drinking.

To avoid mistake and to avoid drinking from another wine glass please write your name on that glass.

It's also good for your health. You'll never know whether that person has bad breath, hepatitis or TB. Most of all, try to avoid cold and flu.

Caution on Holidays! It's for your own safety.

Freedom of the PRESS Is Your Freedom To Know

When there are too many people without voices and some of these people have problem voicing out grievances then FREEDOM OF THE PRESS is much needed. According to the "PRESS" >>Freedom of the PRESS is your Freedom."

Whether you are hearing rumors, hearsays, fake news, reel news, true news, whatever news out there how you can tell? Most of the news are real and  true if you are witnessing it with your own eyes. Be the witness.

Are the news on TV real or fake? The news reporters on TV  are just reading the "feeds" from their teleprompter. Who feeds the news on teleprompter? That you have to ask the director or the one behind the studio camera or the producer of the news network. Or the NEWS are relayed to them from the field correspondents.

Will you go to the site of war? Will you go to the scene of crime and murder to find it out so that you are not lied about what really happened? First you must know that investigators wont tell you the details of murder and other crimes out there because they are under investigation. Do you want to be the first to know what's happening in how your local government leaders and subordinates are doing with your tax money? How your President and or Prime Minister are doing with your tax money and how they are doing their work as in properly or are they corrupt or are they about to be impeached or are they committing a crime? That kind of news that you have to know that news network are working to serve the public. They have to work for the PUBLIC (service) regardless of their affiliation with government officials. The PRESS has duty and responsibility just like doctors they have an obligation to do the right thing of saving lives.

Freedom of the PRESS is the freedom for everyone. PRESS is not something to do with pressing the button. There is a difference with the PRESS and press. With the PRESS out there, no one is left behind.

Being Greek or Being Geek?

My breakfast not bagels but guinataang saba (plantain banana), camote (sweet potato) and corn kernels (mais) with coconut milk. Yeah, something different!  And while I was having breakfast, husband and I are watching the documentary report on TV of the fatal death of JFK Jr., his wife and sister-in-law when their plane Piper Saratoga dive down through the sea near Hyannis Port. What a way to start my morning eh? What really happened? Their death is too devastating for their family and for the millions of fans of JFK Jr. around the world.

Well, I had enough watching the Aleppo war story. My ears are already shut-off listening, watching that tragic war for the past 2 years. The war site was used for war movies so many times.

So what really happened to the son of the former John F. Kennedy as if there's that curse that followed their famous family. It was likened to a Greek story or Bible story where the cast and characters were tested by God. It's not that life has no end and its because the Kennedy's are famous, fabulous and influential but their life story is more like "honest" and everyone knows how they live as their lives are more than "open book." Their family is over exposed. The tabloids exploited them like crazy. But because JFK Sr. was once a writer, publicist, editor at his prime age then Mrs. Jackie Kennedy was also a journalist/photographer and their son owned  the magazine GEORGE  so somehow their family life has something to do with NEWS! Are they exploiting themselves? Or somebody else's exploiting themselves? Could it be that it's beneficial for their business at that cost? It's not of benefit to anybody if somebody dies and I don't think it's a curse as what that writer-reported said on TV. Many have doubts. Greek mystery.

Writers would always be writers! Writing is in their blood. Fitzgerald's blood running over their veins? So be it.

I write, do I have to exploit myself? Not really! I think I'm a ghost writer. lol. I wrote something and somebody else's steals my idea and what's left for me eh? Darn those thieves!!!!!

So, according to my son Tyrel...ROGUE ONE is better than THE FORCE AWAKENS. Have you watched it already?

Weather forecast: It will snow tomorrow > Sunday but it will rain on Monday. It's only -12 degrees celsius today.

From the bedroom's window, outside OMG! Lots of snow. How thick the snow on the roof? I think it's 11-12  inches thick of snow.

Despite of snowy cold environment, there are many chickadees and other small starling birds on the branches of the trees and one lone bird on the fence. Alone Atlas! At one point in time when one grey woodpecker graced the tall spruce tree at the backyard. You wont believe how many thousands of birds at spring and summer time in this area.

Whining Keeps Me Alive!

I couldn't believe that there are no fashionable clothes in the local department store and if there are few boutiques out there some of those dress are out of style. That if you are very creative and you love to sew better sew your own dress. I know that so many women will not argue with me with what I stated here. Also what I noticed that Fall and Winter season when clothing and accessories are mostly in fall colors of black, brown and burgundy? What's wrong? Sometimes I wonder why. Where do those department stores get their garments from? What's wrong with their sense of fashion? What's wrong with Walmart, Joe Fresh, and Ricki's? They are so old fashioned with their sense of choosing the style, the type of fabric  especially the colors of their clothes. Why those clothes are mostly "polyester?" People in asian countries laughed at those fabric.

Holiday season should be a smash of beautiful lovely and lively colors, mostly happy colors. Anything festive, bright happy colors hues and contrast is a must on holidays.

Christmas is not suppose to be season of mourning. It's the season of life, happiness and entertainment not a season of sadness and melancholia.

Anyway, maybe it was done on purpose. Fashion outlets would rather have families to enjoy great abundance of food and sharing the hearty festive of food, fruits and wines. Forget about clothes.  Maybe that's what is the secret message. Putting more emphasis on entertaining families and friends with great lavish food, music, dance and minus fashionable clothes. Wear your old clothes people! Ha ha!

Whatever! It's a year of selfies. If year 1916 or century ago is about Kodak films and cameras, Eastman and photography then our generation is about the same photography and selfies. That's why I bought 2 memory cards (32GB SDHC x 2 = 64 GB SDHC) WOW!

Ha! More of the same thing again? Yup, I will wear the same clothes again but don't worry, I clean my clothes everyday with Purex laundry detergent and with Bounce fabric softener for longer everlasting fresh scent. LOL.

Our groceries up to $507.12. Not much? $300 purchase supposedly gives 30,000 points or $30.00 but it turns out we should have our PC card. Darn!!! Sayang! Whatever! Sometimes we lose, sometimes we gain. Just like moving to this house instead of saving money it's spending more money and more gas for the vehicle and this time we have to pay the storage for the tools. I don't know if we have to pay rent for the storage of the boat.

It's all over again, that's right! I like to keep on whining.. lol.

Thank God It's Friday!

It's Friday and there are too many controversial issues already. Thank goodness it's cooler in this part of the world or else...

You know that in countries where there is that extreme hot weather people are always fighting, having arguments that result to conflict then to inevitable incredible war. It must be the extreme climate, inclement weather. Hot headed people.

Yesterday, we watched the rented movie dvd "Ben Hur" story about Judah (Jew or Greek?) and Messala (adopted Roman orphan). Judah's style of clothing is more of Greek rather than Jewish fashion of clothing. I think had watched Ben Hur the older version before. The latest version showed elaborately the brotherly love between Judah and Messala. Judah had better humane instinct compared with Messala,  despite his aristocratic background. A short story of how they were part of the crucifixion of Jesus or was he the real Jesus Christ?

My son watched ROGUE ONE: Star Wars Story last night.  I haven't ask yet whether it's better than previous Star wars story movie. You know that we're all disappointed with "The Force Awakens" when we see the original cast as old people and Han Solo died in the end and made Darth Vader more powerful and cruel which of course we don't want evil cast members getting too much strength.

Inside out: Warm inside, cold outside. As you can see from the window of our house that the weather outside is cold and snowy. December 16, 2016. Less snow now compared to previous days as in 3 days ago. It was sunny for the past 3 days and I don't know if it will be sunny today.

Yeah, bat masterson, we get so much ice in this part of the world and it's not winter yet.

Well, there's no lying about the weather condition in Canada. Why lie about the weather and climate? Some people out there should not lie about their climate, about their stand in the economic progress. They should be true to themselves. Stop lying about how rich you are or how wealthy you when you can't pay your tax then you are not rich. There are too many people suffering because of poverty yet they always lie that they can afford. Nobody can afford the high price of living. The standard of living in Canada is way too up high for the middle class and for the rich. If they are really rich  do you think they have to work?

Consciously-Unconsciously

I was in a middle of my dream when suddenly I heard the telephone ringing. Darn! At a very early morning?

Now I can't put back my dream again. I was at the dream scene when I was holding on to these weird "creatures" and peeling off their shells like as if they are shrimps. They are not shrimps. These creatures look like critters but I don't know their names because its my first time to see them. One of those people watching me while I collect these creatures were laughing so hard and one older guy laughed at the collection inside the jar. I don't know why they are laughing because those creepy critters are not laughable, they are scary. It's frightening and why the hell I'm holding them? Whew! That's what dreams are for... something that is unconsciously wired to the brain. If it happened consciously do I have to touch those critters? Big NO!

Am I in the garden that my dream has something to do with the bug? Dreams are not my reality.

I miss the house of Mom and Dad in Greystone so I'm posting these photographs at the front porch. There's no bugs on those flowers. No bugs inside the house. Of course no bug in me. What's in the garden are garden friends not foes.

Maybe I was unconsciously waiting for spring and it's not winter yet. I mean winter starts on the 21st of December.
I wonder , wonder what to cook for Christmas feast. It's already the 15th and 10 days from now... it's Christmas time. Are you ready?

What Fundraising For?

It was not long time ago when we paid our hydro from the previous house and has recently received another bill. Bills all paid. Then the billing is well advanced in this new house. Instead of a 2 month billing, this time we are billed from November 1, 2016 to November 17, 2016 in this new house. Wow! Is that the true BC Hydro? I couldn't believe that 17 days usage of hydro is about $131. That's too high when we never use heater for month of November. Lights are off when nobody's in the room. We only used the heater when it snowed for the month of December. Two bedrooms do not need any heating. The garage doesn't need heater. I used cold water for washing black garments, dark clothing and comforters. Hmm...Weird.

You know that there are so many scams now eh? Am I that too old to be scammed? Because in Canada if you are that old, over 50 and above, the many  inglorious  bastards tend to scam old people!

Pardon my language but here in the internet there are too many scammers, fraudsters and scams and who we are to be afraid of aside from these people? It's Christmas time and the spirit of Christmas should be happy and lively and peaceful but there are too many people who are suffering from poverty. Hard to believe that poverty is becoming a social norm in Canada, not only in third world country.

Fundraising? Heard of the fundraising that the government will do some fundraising campaign for what and from where? They can't solve the problem of tax evaders and they are mostly the rich and wealthy and maybe fundraising can make them pay their tax on this so called "fundraising." They can't stop the loopholes so "fundraising is another term to make the millionaires and the billionaires pay their tax." If that's what fundraising is for? It's not funny!

CANADA is the wealthiest, one of the wealthiest country in this world and yet there are so many people suffering from poverty. You don't know who are poor and impoverish in this country that's the problem. Unless if you see their income tax return.

Timeless

Timeless series didn't fail us one bit with their last season finale this year. Journey back in time through the time travel machine is amazing. My daughter Tamara loves every minute of the series and the episode last night with Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus at the house of George Washington where they were introduced by Garcia Flynn to the former US President and at the time when Benedict Arnold was already a suspect for treason and how they can change the events leading to war will take place and how the Rittenhouse was involved. Garcia Flynn showed the secret message from inside the treasured clock sealed with a symbol (red wax and the secret letter). I was not able to read the message because the handwriting was like "kinahig ng manok." The kind of writing by doctors or physician so that the patient wont read the Rx only the pharmacist. lol.  Ha ha being sarcastic here. Really what's the purpose of their travel back in time? Garcia wants his wife and his childrens return in the present generation with him and Lucy wants the return of her sister who vanished after her first travel back in the past. While Wyatt wants his wife resurrected from death. Will travelling from century after century turn all their hopes and wishes into ashes or it just make life complicated for them? Who are their superiors what powers they have that cannot say no and what is their purpose that they want to change the past? What's the ulterior motive?

In this episode of TIMELESS, John the son of Ritterhouse was a genius who is making a clock and in one of his unconscious moment holding on to the hands of the clock he had it on counter clockwise setting the time not clockwise. Last minutes of the scene, after Rufus saved Wyatt, Lucy and Garcia from being executed by Rittenhouse, and after the time travellers killed Rittenhouse (because Rittenhouse killed Benedict Arnold) everyone in the house  fled outside looking for John who hid in the yard in the darkest hour of his life. Garcia wants to kill the boy but Lucy managed to  cover for him. You want to know the season finale then Lucy was taken by Garcia aboard the `Mother Ship`. Wyatt and Rufus was shocked. The historian was abducted by Garcia and just the two of them aboard the old time travel machine.

`Then the french hacker got in the way with my keyboard and he thought that he can sell the story. Dude why don`t you just make a story of your own or you didn`t watch the series last night.

It`s 10:32 AM now.

What Are They Up To?

Once again we're all shocked with the season finale of TWD. People whom you think wont die was killed by Negan and his gang. Season finale episode: Hearts Still Beating is unpredictable. TWD is known for its unpredictability alright. Rosita wont be waiting for special dinner with Spencer and Olivia wont be babysitting the baby Judith. Daryl was becoming another version of Negan in his rage to kill one of the guards. He escaped together with Jesus away from the Saviours compound and they reunited with Rick and company at the Hilltop. Too bad that the continuation of this number one television series will resume next year 2017. Fanatic of this horrendous, horror apocalyptic series will be waiting the long wait not of Valentine's day but the ultimate showdown between Rick's company against the Saviours of Negan. Who the mysterious man who keeps following Rick and Aaron? Nobody knows. It's not even mentioned on comics series. Ha ha! Keep on guessing.

So many best performers in The Walking Dead series and if none of the actors and actresses did not receive nominations or  wont receive awards then there's something wrong with the award giving bodies.

By the way, I first thought Jesus in TWD or Tom Payne is a new actor but he's got too many credits already in some quality movies such as: "The Physician" (with award winning actor Ben Kingsley), he was also an actor in the "Wuthering Heights."  He is an English actor so he must be popular in UK.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is best as a gruesome villain and his surreal acting is suffocating the many fanatic of Rick Grimes and company. Best Villain ever!!! No doubt! The only thing that makes TWD too intense to watch is their timing of how they move the audience to surprises, to the incredible actions, to the adrenaline rush, to their one of a kind drama that is almost real but surrealism is in every corner of the dramatic atmosphere that you can feel and smell the filth of zombies, the rotten field, the rotten stinky water filled with zombies. The terrifying smell of molds and rotten garbage. Yuck!

I don't know what category the Golden Globes are aiming for in choosing the best actors and actress or best supporting actors/actress. Best picture? No idea. I'm not into sing and dance so Lalaland is not my kind of movie. I think too tame. But many Hollywood stars think that Lalaland will win an award in musical category. I think Emma Stone is good in dramatic-comedy movie not musical.  Better watch old shows such as Big Time Rush and Victorious. How about "Money Monster?" Or Jason Bourne? I haven't seen this movie yet so I might watch it tomorrow.

I haven't seen those movies that they nominated but the story of "Loving" and "Hacksaw Ridge" are two movies that seem true to life story and that movie of "Jackie." Now it depends on how those actors and actress will compete in their acting prowess in their better portrayal of those characters that they have to deliver for their audience's approval.

Golden Globes are awards given by foreign press (Movies & TV) so... no idea what they are up to.They probably are watching every movies and watch carefully, focus, compare and choose the best. Point is if they had chosen the best then the Academy will have the same winners? OMG! Please stop doing the same kind of choosing winners. Surprise us. Surprise your fans. Surprise the many millions of fans of movies and TV series. Make it unpredictable.

Something Old, Something New

Mostly housework today on balmy cold Sunday morning. The snowfall stopped, yey! But the snow on the ground is so wet that I don't like walking on it because you know there's nothing to do outside anyway. I had so much laundry today, about 5 loads. Would you believe that? Bed sheets, bed cover, comforter, towels, pillow cases, clothes (separate the dark clothing from white clothes). Soon I will need to buy laundry detergent and fabric softener.

My husband received an early morning call from a friend who owned a cat named Kelly who had problem with her kidney. She's already 15 years old and it seems that she's sick because the last time he had to visit them the cat didn't sit on his lap and she's not that playful. 15 years old for a cat is really, really that old. Kelly cat has no kitten because she was neutered. Most of the indoor cats in Canada are neutered or fixed not to make any children. Poor Kelly cat. She'll soon pay a visit with her veterinarian. Hoping she'll get well soon.

It's the 11th day of December 2016 and we are watching the old movie "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" starring Sean Connery, Shane West, Dorian Grey, Captain Nemo, etc. Not bad! I was amazed of the vessel or extraordinary ship they used to travel. It's like a sharp edged sword. Isn't that the kind of ship in the novel of  Jules Verne?

Anyway, what could be the best story for today?

My husband ... when he opened the greeting cards given by his boss. Surprise!!!!!!!! Thank you for the warm greetings and for the gifts. MERRY CHRISTMAS too!

Who would have given us Christmas cards in today's time? That's very thoughtful and so generous of the boss. Thanks!

The message in the "Snoopy" card from Maryjo is hilarious! Ha ha! LOL.

Thanks for the sweet cheesecake. My daughter shared the vanilla cheesecake! Best cheesecake ever!
I wonder what's the secret recipe.

Are You A Pitcher, A Spoon Or Fork?

There's more snow than you can ever imagine on the roads and highways in Campbell River area through Courtenay, to Gold River to the whole Vancouver Island and wont you glad that the Mount Washington ski resort famous for its snow powder from the peak down to the slopes and the number one tourist attraction in Vancouver island is wide open for business. Mount Washington is the choice of the winter Olympic athletes to do their skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, toboganning, and what else kids and adults are doing on the majestic Mount Washington? It's about time... A winter wonderland holiday! Nice!

Once again we're here at home. It's no use getting out of the house. Saturday. I don't like catching cold. The point is the snow on the ground is better when there's no snow dropping anymore or when the snow stays on the ground and the weather is cold and the sun can be seen up in the sky. At this moment that's not the situation. Continuous snow falling on the ground is a mess.

I told  my husband that "Jason Bourne movie" is ready on VOD. All we need to do is rent it through the convenience of our TV. Because he is too busy right now doing the snow removal at Creekside we have to watch it maybe later. My son Tyrel has finally watched the FANTASTIC BEAST movie of Eddie Redmayne at the cinema. You know he likes to watch new movies at the movie house at the first showing or premiere of such movies that he likes. He also ordered a ticket from the internet to be the first to see the movie ROGUE ONE (The Star Wars Story) on Thursday. ROGUE ONE is a different kind of Star Wars with different cast members and lead by Felicity Jones (once the leading lady of Eddie Redmayne) who portrayed the wife of  "Stephen Hawking" in a movie that garnered OSCAR AWARDS years ago. Eddie and Felicity are two equally talented movie stars, actors and actress whose got the strength in their portrayal of various acting prowess. Versatility is their strength.

Oh my, I'm glad that the power outage (no electric) for few hours early morning is over. I had my cup of coffee at past 9 AM when electricity has resumed its power.  The snow is 12 inches higher, so thick already. There was a snow removal on the road yesterday at the subdivision but the contractor hasn't remove the snow yet today, maybe doing other contracts in another complex. I don't know, just guessing. How many BobCats in this island anyway?

Fake news? I don't know why fake news get into the CBC News. I think it has something to do with who is the messenger or source of such news. That's why news are supposed to be verified. That if there are wars in another part of the world you have to see it for yourself. Be the eyewitness. Risky? Being at the center of firing at war is dangerous! It's risking your life. Most of the news are linked to games. Otherwise called "pitching in."

Because I Love Snow!

Yes it's true we have snowfall last night and still snowing until today, at 10:03 AM. Wow! Cold of course! The house we are living right now has no chimney or gas fireplace but we have electric heater. No power outage because the cold snow is not that too much to bear meaning it's just a mild snow not considered snowstorm where there is windstorm in accompaniment with its force. The snow is at least 4 inches thick on the ground and maybe thicker in another part of the island. Right now my husband is shoving snow using handheld shovel at the townhouse village. There is that snow removal contractor doing the heavy stuff of removing the snow on parking area but the sidewalk is my husband's job to remove the snow and sprinkle industrial salt to prevent slip.

I know the road is gonna be slippery so better be careful driving on roads, streets and highways. If you don't have nothing to do better stay at home. I think all schools are closed but offices, government buildings, supermarkets, department stores are open for business.

Good that my husband was able to replace the truck's all season tires with snow tires before the snowfall. Those big trucks that you can see on highways probably had their snowtires with chains.

Snow on the rooftops. snow on fences, snow on the trees and its branches and twigs, snow on top of vehicles, snow everywhere. Lovely white snow covered earth... I mean,  island. lol

We had a moment of fun this morning. My son Cade took several photos of me and my daughter Tam while we throw snowballs at each other. A short film recorded while the snow is falling and you bet it's not nice to take pictures when the snow is dropping like crazy. We should just wait for the snowfall to stop and then take pictures. But you know, don't really know when will it stop...

Have fun now before the snow melts. Beside's I'm loving the winter wonderland on the month of December and it's not Christmas when there's no snow on the ground.

Sleepy Eyes

Woke up early this morning at 6AM , had my coffee and bagels then watched TV News. What's on TV News you may ask.

1. TIME PERSON of the YEAR is Pres. Donald J. Trump (runners up are Sen. Hillary Clinton, and other famous people who are always the "stars" in social media networks)
2. Earthquake in Indonesia
3. The Pipeline Case in Canada
4. The Non-stop Allepo War story
5. Snowstorms happening in few  provinces of Canada

Load my first laundry: comforter and pillow cases. Mopped the floors. Cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. It's only 7 AM so... finished with my household chores way too early.

Then went back to my room and sleep again and opened my eyes when my daughter would like to watch TV at past 9 AM. Prepared meals for lunch: Steamed rice and pork sinigang with beans and bokchoy. Lunch at past 12 noon. Husband Lorne came home from his friend Andre's house and had given him a dessert of cranberry pie. Lorne also brought the X'mas decors from the storage including pairs of snow tires. Who knows it might snow again tomorrow.

Cleaned pots and pan, rinse utensils and plates after lunch and put some of them in the dishwashing machine for thorough cleaning and sanitizing.

Now here I am with my blogging ritual. No fun whatsoever. There's not much sale on the flyers and not so many good news on newspaper today.

Fashion Is Passion or Your Passion Is Fashion?

Are you a fashionista? Passion for latest fashion? Well, it's great to have special sense for fashion especially if you are working in the fashion world or you are a frontliner in a department store, in the office, advertising company, or you work in the media wherein pleasing personality is viewed on what you wear from head to toes. What more if you work in the White House.

Hard to believe but you are being judge by the book, by the cover of your "book." It's true!? I told you humans are up to "view" what they can SEE with their eyes. Then later these people want to know what they can "hear." Then later it's adjusted to "filter." Humans have that kind of "first impression matters first." Always that same format of knowing you from the way you are seen and heard and then background is identified. Believe it or not but that's the case. Believe me because I studied "Psychology and human behaviour."

People who are expert in identifying the cause of your behavior can easily analyze if you are lying or not or just trying to impress. Or what you are saying is "scripted."

Watch some of the television "talk shows" some of these women or men can tell you what's inside their minds? Really? If that's the case then they are obligated to say the truth if its comes from their own mind. If not you are losing viewers when they are lying. Now, if their words are scripted less enemies out there then. You don't want to be another money monsters.

I know of that person who talks so much but with sense. She doesn't care for crap. I know that she's that brave to say what's on her mind and not scripted. Too bad! She left the talk show. I like her for blunt words and she's that straightforward. People like her but why she's out from the talk show? See, some people love the truth not nonsense! There are humans whose voice I don't like to hear and that woman's voice is suffocating and maybe that's the reason why that girl left the show. You can't always be right all the time but the old person's voice is probably related to whoever in that show. It has nothing to do with talent nor what you wear in showbiz. I think it has something to do with "seniority" or "whom you know."

Fashion and passion is of different category and age is related. Believe or not both needs financial aid. You don't have money? End to that fashion. Try something else. It's the skills that matter!

It's Snowing! OMG!

Oh my God! We are blessed with a snowy winter wonderland early morning!! Do I have to be happy? I think all the children will be very happy because they can play on the snow and create their snowman and slide downhill or make snow angels.

Then I said to myself not enough of snow. After I snapped photos I heard my husband saying that those kids outside, the neighbors kids are there outside playing and they don't even have their coats on. Really? You know children when they are excited when they see snow on the ground, they rushed outside without telling their parents or asking permission to get out.

My children are too old for snowplay, however watching those young kids outside remind me of my own children who are more than happy to see snow on the ground.  We have enough snow this year compared from last year. The snow last year was just a sprinkle of snow that didn't last to stick on the ground. Still snowing... so maybe I can go out and make snowman or snowballs when the snowdrop stops.

If you can't open the video on your computer it's because you probably not using the same computer or gadget and because my desktop is on customize format. But I think it will work on Explorer. My satellite computer works well for the past 5 years and it seems that it works with coding. Thank God!

Tantalizing Desserts

Anything that is sweet according to my palette is my dessert. Last night I had to bake banana blueberry cake without icing. I don't apply icing or whipped cream on any cake that I bake because icing is too sweet for my taste buds. Anyway, sometimes I love eating somebody else's baked goods such as the one above image of raspberry fruit pie with ripe orange.

Then this mouth watering strawberry cheesecake which is such a delight that my son and husband had it all for themselves. I think it was baked perfectly, bought from QF where they baked goodies and cakes fresh at their bakery.
Once in a while I crave for plantain banana cooked with coconut milk and sugar. Simple yet delicious.

I like this chocolate but you know what? I don't like the hazel nuts or any kind of nuts in chocolates.
You may have your own opinion and choices with what you like or favor and simply my own choice is different from yours and nothing's wrong with that. Have a good day peeps!

A Tree Is Not A Three

TREES of green and red roses too... lol Clouds, sky and trees! I know here I am again and I heard someone said, " had enough of you."

Be careful of  "you." Using you or YOU without stating a name means it can be you or somebody you know or you don't know. It must be you.

You is not a yu. You is another person. Are you another person? Are you another animal?

I came downstairs to have my breakfast and on the TV that my husband Lorne is watching is the documentary feature of ELEPHANTS on National Geographic channel. The Mother Elephant had a baby and to my dismay the Mother Elephant had the placenta on her trunk and she's using it like a broom to sweep the ground. Huh!? What? That's so weird! Is that traditional or customary for elephants to do such "ritual?" The baby elephant just came out from the womb and she's already walking by herself. OMG! That strong!?

 Mighty elephantease!!
"Tis the season to be jolly...

I heard of human Mother that keeps their  placenta after giving birth to their baby. Why, you may ask. According to ancient people the placenta is placed under a stairs, buried on the ground for some kind of customary spiritual belief to drive away bad spirits. Other families stored placenta out from womb of the mother to preserve the DNA of such human baby as to connect or link to the biological parents. The ancient Royal Family kept their placenta for Royal purpose that their lineage and timeline on planet earth will be recorded forever until time is time.

December 3, 2016. We haven't buy a Christmas tree yet but we have plenty of  trees at the backyard. It was a forest with different kinds of trees. Do I really need to buy a tree? LOL.

Movie Night

After a hearty dinner of spaghetti last night and after I cleaned the kitchen, my daughter Tam and I watched a movie. This time we rented the movie MONEY MONSTERS starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney. It was a story of Lee Gates (played by George Clooney, a TV host, financial analyst) who was held hostage in front of his TV viewers, inside the studio while Patty (director for the live show) and the crew team watched the whole drama. What could be the impact of a non-diplomacy situation when suddenly a depressed, crazy human being run-amucked, somebody you don't know and started being violent and you as a confused non-violent individual do not know what's happening then do you have that adrenaline rush to get out and escape and save yourself from harm?

Who knows? God knows what could happen in that kind of abrupt situation. In MONEY MONSTERS the guy named Kyle who pointed a gun at Lee Gates ( and let him wear the bomb vest) seem not the kind of professional killer we had seen in movies such as DIE HARD, DIE HARD II and UNIVERSAL SOLDIERS. The terrorists in DIE HARD are brutally professionals without remorse. The man looks depressed but he's not a killer. He was upset that his money he invested in IBIS turned into nothing. ZERO! He blamed that the financial investment company is a fraud and he was scammed of his hard earned money. He didn't lose millions of dollars, just $60,000! He is not rich , he is just probably a hardworker and investing his money could lead to double whammy or he will earn more than what he can bargain for. So many millions of people do the same thing but the fishy thing about investments and or investing is the amount of % being taken off and to lose the whole amount of money invested in just a wink of an eye or in just few seconds are mind boggling. Investing money in stock market is like a gamble. If you watch many of the movies of Chevy Chase wherein he played the part of a compulsive gambler and every time he lose, losing all of his money and almost lose his own family from his crazy compulsiveness.

But in this movie MONEY MONSTERS the reason for such conflict of losing your investment depends on analytics or whatever programmed has been used as expressed by the "computer programmer." Unless of course there are "hands" that manipulated the transaction. Wow! Really? So they discovered the problem and how those involved messed up the stock market and how some people go bankrupt because of some evil doers with evil hands manipulated the outcome of the ups and downs of numbers. Analytic?! Rigged? Power outage? Too many links and too many rats? Too many wirings and plugs get out of socket? Loose connections? There are too many reasons. The atmospheric situation where the computer is locked or stored? The power heat and surcharge of electrical outlet? Monkeys operating the computerized storage. Well, you know they use monkeys and octopus hands to do the maneuvering of numbers for experiment. Meaning? It's animals whose got the control, sometimes not to take the blame or so that no humans are to be blamed for the result. Or they let millions of doves pecking on numbers and let them do the analytics. WEIRD? Funny?

By the way, you thought it was Julia Roberts who directed "Money Monsters" but it was the multi-awarded actress Jodie Foster.

You thought IBIS is a bird who came from Egypt and watch how those people act and behave but IBIS is a Financial Investment Company.

Dunno really! I don't know how investments company do their work. It could be a matter of luck and how fortunate you are in handling numbers.

Prevention Is Better Than Cure

The weather temperature is now 2 degrees celsius and maybe it will go down in the next few hours or maybe it will rise up, who knows eh? In other parts of the province when they already experiencing snow storm on negative temperature. Balmy cold! I hope they owned generators so that they can keep themselves warm so that they can also use their television sets, radio and what else that can run with generator as main supply of power when electricity is off? Generator is powered by gas. At one point in time when we used generator when suddenly there was a power cut-off due to strong typhoon. At first we were not upset about it then the next day we started missing the news on TV, and we missed our computer so my husband set up the generator to run and all our appliances (that is run by electricity) worked properly and functioned good enough without hassle. The only thing that is not that great about generator is the "noise."

I keep adjusting our heater at home. Temperature of 10 degrees celsius downstairs and 15 degrees celsius upstairs and at night have to lower the heater at 5 degrees celsius only because we use heavy comforter and blanket for beddings.

The papergirl didn't deliver Wednesday newspaper. I wonder. I hope she's not sick. That's one of the disappointment in cold weather. Take care of yourself people because colds, runny nose, fever and flu are the number one ailments brought on by cold winter season. The bad thing about flu is it's highly contagious. Keep yourself warm, use gloves, hats or toques, jackets or coats when you go outside. If you already have colds and flu please stay inside your house and don't infect others. Make sure you wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap, clean your hands properly when using washrooms. Use disposable tissue, throw them in the garbage right away and don't let it stay on your desk FGS! When sneezing cover your nose and mouth.  Use clean tissue when using doorknobs to open the doors.

Flu shot? Health care providers are the ones who are the first ones to receive their flu shots. For those who believe that flu shot is the best care to protect themselves from flu then they should have flu shot.
