Inconvenient Truth

 RECORD BREAKING HIGH OF 42 degrees Celsius! Whew! We survived! 

It's now down to 28 C but that was unusually hot too. The normal summer temperature is 23 C to 26 C. Anything over that temperature is extremely hot and over 40 C is dangerously HOT.

We are keeping ourselves hydrated. We drink lots of bottled water, juice, pop with ice cubes to quench thirst. The heatwave is causing everyone very thirsty. Our fan rotating non-stop giving us the air ventilation that we need. Too bad that we only have one electric fan. The other 2-in -1 fan that we had was thrown away when we moved to another house. It's not a wreck. It's just somebody thought that we wont need it in this home. We cannot find an A/C or even a rotating fan for sale at HD, CT, WM and any other department stores, as in those machines are out of stock. Who would have thought that Canada will have over 40 to 42 C temperature? If you are a true Canadian born in Canada,  15 C to 20 C is way too HOT for comfort.

I've been here in Canada, living here actually for the pat 30 years and 20 C to 25 C is hot and over 40C can make me whiney full of complaints. Who wont be? People from other countries probably are happy with this kind of weather simply they came from the desertland and badlands.

Looking at the news, listening and watching at those news on TV where their pets also suffered from the extreme heat. They complained that their pets are suffocated from the heatwave. Dudes, please be honest it's YOU who are exhausted and suffering more than ever. ha ha! being modest. That's what it is with Canadians trying to hide what they feel using their pets for all the discomfort and inconvenience.

There is a water restriction on how many times you can water your lawns.  Okay, that's normal during at summer time. Water conservation. 

However, never ever forget to bathe and shower, because your body (skin) needs water too.

Take a bath in the morning and shower at night so that you'll feel better during the heatwave.

When I'm Not The Cook For That Special Day

 I started boiling potatoes and eggs for potato/egg salad early morning, yesterday. I told myself better earlier than usual because I know the heatwave starts before 12 nn or in the afternoon.

Hubby was expecting pizza, he thought  I was baking the square pizza in the oven and we'll have the pizza for lunch instead. That was before 11 AM. Nope. So he went out and I don't even know what he's up to.

He came home after me and my kids had finished our lunch meals. He told me that he was in search for that electric fan that was on the flyer, which actually is advertised last week and fans are out of stock already. With thousands of people buying electric fans and air cons what do you think will happen?

So, while looking for such items, he bought and brought home some stuff: Oven-hot roast whole  chicken, bbq spare ribs, and Mediterranean penne-pasta salad. 

 

He told me no need to cook something for supper because the weather temp. is already high. Well, you know the temp. is extremely high at about 32 C to 36 C. That was HOT! For BC weather temperature that is unusual. Don't you think people?

Don't let yourself get dehydrated. Drink enough fluids: water, juice, pop or whatever drinks that quench thirst. Take a shower daily or twice a day. Keep your homes ventilated. Open your windows to let the air flow freely.

Sometimes, it's nice to eat something prepared and cooked by somebody else. I don't have to use the oven for roasting chicken and less heat inside the house.

Today, the forecast could even higher than 38 C to 41 C tomorrow. If you are being suffocated by the extreme weather temperature yesterday, today and tomorrow at 41 C what could be the impact?

 

Yeah, first thought the weather temperature in Canada can be controlled. lol.

 It could, by the power of millions of minds interacting. Just like atoms uniting for one common goal. 

 

The Long & Winding Game Of Games

 I couldn't believe how hot yesterday, awfully, freaking hot 36 degrees Celsius! All windows open, doors open still hot! Even if the electric fan rotated non-stop. So, I told myself a need to escape is a must and off we get out of the house and went to the nearest mall and shop. OMG! Their air conditioning unit is not enough for everyone to be happy about. Opsi wont tell you what shopping mall is that. Wow! Noticeable in that mall are women, pregnant women! I never seen so many pregnant women inside a mall. The pandemic had so many women got pregnant! My hubby laughed at what I said.

Hubby asked me if somehow he needs to buy an air con. I don't know, depends on how much is the air con and how hot would be in the next days to come or I will just pray for an early AUTUMN. Ha?! Can I do that? I mean can my prayers be answered like as if "who am I" that the weather temperature will change all of a sudden? Autumn on Summer? Hmm...

Who likes summer? Do you like a desert like climate in Canada? From Chilliwack to Quesnel, Barkerville, Cache Creek to Kamloops and connecting areas in BC are almost desert-like features. As if Nevada. HOT oven over there you know. We don't want that kind of weather. Supposedly along Vancouver island the weather temp. here should be mild not over 30 C. because we have more vegetation and forest surrounding the island. For the temperature of over 30 C to 35 C is unexpectedly hot and not good unless you want the old hot spring to boil over. lol. Hey I can stand the heat but poor old people cannot.

I'm boiling mini potatoes early morning plus boiling eggs too for potato/egg salad. Maybe that's for our lunch.

I had a piece of baked hashbrown and a piece of pork sausage, tasted like longaniza. Hubby had the same breakfast. 

What for supper? I don't know yet. Hubby told me that I should not cook tonight because when we came home from shopping yesterday and I started cooking, the temperature inside the house has doubled. It was suffocating. Hot and humid. 

If you think that 35 degrees Celsius or 37 C is not that hot compared to the tropical weather temp. in tropical countries? Think that if you are used to having cold climate in your country then over 35 C is hell especially when there's not much air or breeze. Did you know that when it's hot, the oxygen is less? And when it is freezing cold the oxygen is less? It's true. Try your like above the peak of Mt. Everest and find out for yourself. Or go where the volcano is about to explode. I know you wont do something stupid to find that out.

I'm just saying that "those with expertise" had tried and managed to find the other sides and somehow end up alive because they had their oxygen tanks at their back.

Saturday again. Qualifying rounds for the world's racers and tomorrow is the amazing car race. Uhm, whatever  happened to that AMAZING RACE show??  Don't you expect another race around the world or let us just be happy with BIG BROTHER show? It's only 26th of June and July is a long time waiting game.

 Summer. It's warm, it's hot! What else can you expect? Aside from photography, reading is my favourite past time. After my daily readings on the internet, reading books especially the interesting ones and magazines worthy of reading because they are very informative and has added value for knowledge. 

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINES are of course very educational. 

My God, if only I have access to this kind of magazine when I was a child you bet maybe I end up like a genius. Ha ha! Too bad that I only had that complete collection way back year 2002. I had the whole complete set of National Geographic Magazine since 1888 - 2000 edition. Would you believe? I had the whole set in the year 2002. Everything that you want to know about the Earth, the environment, every country, the geographical and geological information about the Earth and every country in the world. The economic and political condition of every country. Every magazine page by page tackled what you need to know if you are a researcher searching for something out of the ordinary.

I was in search of anything that somehow covers the story of the Filipino/Spanish/American war. However, didn't see any of that. Or that could be just a Spanish/American war. Besides, must remember that it was only year 1900 that English was the official Universal language around the world. Spanish was the official Universal language before year 1900. I didn't find any story or information about Dr. Jose Rizal. Nothing. How could that be? What was Dr. Rizal's true name during that period of time? Yeah, a s if I don't know.

Hey, Nobel family can you clear that for me? Nobel Peace Prize story. Nina Ricci probably knows.

I could only think that is one of the mysteries of 18th Century. 

There is one thing that puzzled me on the magazine's year 2000 edition. Ground Zero. Huh? Ground Zero was already known as ground zero in year 2000. That was so shocking!

 A good read. Very informative and very educational in our time when, how and why the whole earth is suffering from the malady of toxic environment. Why the air we breathe is causing billions of people suffering from all kinds of ailments including COVID.

Hope & Danger In Philippines: The story of the "supposedly turn over" from Pres. Marcos to the Aquino government. It was dramatic and the looters were caught on camera. Dudes, it was PRESIDENT FERDINAND MARCOS who is the legitimate president in the Philippines. It was him who won in that election. 

Whether Pres. Trump who won in the election, he WON THE ELECTION and he had his 4 year- term when it should be 8 years (term). The true Americans voted for him. Whether Pres. Biden won against Pres. Trump in the 2020 Election? There is on-going debate about it. It's the WHATEVER situation kind of. It depends on who are really running the country, the people or the aliens.

Real fresh cherries! 'Tis the season to be jolly, it is cherry-picking season in June 2021. Quality Foods got what it takes when it comes to fresh fruits and fresh veggies.

We've been celebrating HAPPY FATHER's DAY so be it. Just so you know. 

Since the pandemic any celebration that brings happiness to every human is restricted and put to a halt for health reason. Humans have to eat so that they can have the energy to do the work and most of all we have to feed the children. We have to promote foods and we have to patronize our local supermarkets. Anything that hinders the growth of the family, the growth of the country, the growth of the economy is an enemy of the country.

 WOW! The thieves have stolen my blog post. Not funny. But you know that's what happened in the internet most of the time. You can always find those thieves anyway. They are so easy to find. 

Just finished reading the book, novel : MONSOON of Wilbur Smith. From Legacy of War, Assegai, Triumph Of The Sun, Blue Horizon, Birds of Prey, about 3,277 pages. I couldn't believe I read those long pages after pages since April 30, 2021.

Instead of having the dusts settled on those books in our bookcase then have to read them one by one and wipe every page of dust. I  thought those books are nonsense but they are not. Intriguing and very interesting actually. It is a legacy of the Courtney's family and clan. Hey every family has a legacy.

Who knows my family and clan had probably a better legacy and maybe the blood of Jesus Christ runs in our veins. The Courtney's? Maybe the blood of Cain & Abel dominates in their veins.

So, what's next? Yeah what's next, my husband asked the same question.

I don't really know what's next.

Thank God! Husband's the chef this time and his favourite spicy chilis in his menu. I got to relax though for the time being but then he remembered that our daughter doesn't care much for chili beans. So the good mother that I am have to cook something for my dear daughter.

Outnumbered?

 AIR CON is not an option yet even if the weather temp goes up. The hell with the weather. For sure there will be emergency siren at the onset of high temperature in the next few days. Of course what could be the outcome or result? It's always been the same result. It's the same solution and the same old cliche'

OLD. Gary OLDman. Maybe I should watch a dracula movie or sew another dress or blouse. I have too many things to do. I can read the book of WS, the MONsoon. You know the continuation of the BIRDS OF PREY. What's so good or the relevance of the BIRDS OF PREY?

BOP novel of WS is somewhat evil. There is that disguise and revival of evil as the ship goes around the Cape. Always been settled in Africa. Can WS get out of Africa? You know that theme from the movie Solarium, rather it's SOLARIS of George Clooney. Ah, never mind deciphering a movie from another movie, a movie answers another movie...it's the secret of the industry.

We should always patronize and save the movie industry. Hundreds to thousands of employments and employees are helped within this movie production industry. I don't mind renting $1 movie or $7 movie for as long as its very entertaining and supporting our favorite movie actors and actresses is a must and for a cause.

For now, have to take myself out of the blogworld, away from facebook because I have to attend to my other tasks. I wish I have that power of multiplicity. I wish I can blog all day and all night but you know SPACE is what I need. Large open spaces for me to write, blog and what secrets out there I could open up ha ha! 😐The knowledge of the GOOD & EVIL?

Nah, too many evils, devils and demons already. The good people are outnumbered.

When It's Over!?

 

I was staring at my wardrobe, it is too small and have to share the space with my daughter Tam. I haven't bought the organizer clothes rack yet. It was on sale at Walmart recently...don't know if it's on sale this week.

Then have to share a wardrobe space with my husband in another room. My wardrobe or closet just too small that some of my clothes are still inside the boxes. It would be nice to send them those clothes to my nieces and sisters-in-laws because some of them might fit them. I've overgrown my clothes. Too fat and overweight now. Ha ha!

I tried to exercise and diet but to no avail doesn't really work. 

Oh, well that's life. I can't afford not to eat. 3x a day is honestly too much not to pass because I need energy to do the work at home. 

I told myself, maybe one day can walk-exercise there along the beach just like what those people are doing, even without a dog on the leash to handle. Maybe there will be so many hundreds of people going for a walk, yeah when the pandemic is over! When the wrath and curse on planet earth  is over!

OMG! They should have just clean the water supply. Maybe it's the water that was contaminated because you know of pollution. Whatever. Too many news out there that never really come out to the point of the issue and most of all it is just damage control after one another and cover-up.

What to read next? What to watch for? Give us something new to see, watch and read.

Multitasks

 My eyes hurt a bit but I am not blind. I hope wont go blind. lol. Compared with other people's vision my age, my vision is still sharper and my vision is still much better than most. My eyeglasses are just for reading small texts. Look at those humans who are texting too much thr. their cellphones, they will all need magnifying lens soon. That's how to go blind. Ten years from now, majority of children using computers will have to wear eyeglasses so that they can see better and clearly. 

I was looking for the round eyeglasses but every time, everywhere: Walmart, London Drugs, Shopper's Drugmart, Mark's, Superstore's...they don't carry the round shape eyeglasses. It's hard to find that round shape. Through the online "buy direct" there are too many to choose from. However, the best way to buy eyeglasses is to fit them, making sure that the eyeglasses snug perfectly to your nose's bridge otherwise you wont be able to return it. No return policy through online orders. 

Whatever. It's not the end of the world, maybe one of those days some pharmacy or department stores within our vicinity will showcase those "round eyeglasses."

When you think that I'm reading most of the time when there are s many household chores at home.

Being the cook at home, life goes on and everyone eats good food.

Husband loves corn on the cob. We have boiled corn twice a month, sometimes 3x a month. Guinisang caulliflower/carrots/shrimps with oyster sauce. Really good, very delicious viand. The Malaysian chicken wings is my family's favourite. All these viands together with steamed jazmine rice.

Not only for birthday celebration, the pancit with pork/shrimps/mushrooms/veggies noodles stir fry is always a favourite viand at home.

Fried rice and pizza for lunch is when I'm too lazy to cook.

Am I still lazy here? You bet what I cooked here is a product of my laziness. Viands: pork chops, pork and bokchoy soup, and a left over viand.

Yeah, you bet it's not all cooking, housecleaning, laundry, blogging and many chores I'm doing at home. I am a multi-tasker and how I can do all these things? I don't know. Maybe I'm wonder woman! Ha ha😜😻😴gtg have better things to do.

Hey don't delete what I'm posting here for everyone to read. LOL. Don't you like reading true story? maybe you can relate to true story events instead of fabrication...

Uhm, maybe truth and honesty is forbidden in the networld of blogging. 

Okay, let us be among the members of the fabrication of fiction to fix you. OMG! That's a song by Chris of Coldplay.

In one of the novels of  Mr. Wilbur Smith, I think that was the ASSEGAI novel that is when Leon Courtney was asked to lead the hunting of more than 50 guinea pigs or wild pigs for the princess who happened to have fallen to Leon Courtney's masculinity, but then her request of  hunting and killing for rampage come to an end when he asked Leon to do the unspeakable. That bothered him so much because he is not that vile, cruel and not evil. He asked his uncle Ballantyne to help him from that evil task and right there a sudden news of outbreak has catapulted to an epidemic and the threat of infection frightened the princess and hurriedly, immediately rushed to safety away from the camp, away from the jungle, away from Leon Courtney and the team of hunters leaving behind everything. She's just OUT to never return from the jungle of compromise and filth of the epidemic. ((True or not, the diarrhea that happened to the team of Roosevelt's son happened during at the time when they had eaten spoilt meat. If there is an outbreak of malarria that was so common in the jungle)).

That situation is just so relatable for the billions of people who are presently suffering from poverty, unemployment, starvation and  to think that year 2020, year 2021 in our modern civilization, with modern hospitals and health facilities, with millions of doctors and nurses, an outbreak of a flu-like symptom can cause so much economic and political apprehension, madness, chaotic news on the hour by the hour for the past one year and 6 months. That long ambiguosity, and long cover-up. Whew! When will it ends?

Something that you cannot hide from the truth is simply there is nothing to hide.

Power Trip

 A good day perhaps? Nobody knows yet if it will be sunny, warm or cold. Sometimes it is unpredictable even if you look at the weather channel for the forecast. Hey, nobody has the mind of Mother Nature and GOD. You, the imperfect human being must just wait for the turn of events, however waiting could mean forever. Yeah those nonsense whimsical that nothing will happen if you just sit all day in front of your computer doing nothing but browse and day dreams. Everyone's doing that white collar jobs...without pay!

Then there are very  creative humans whose works include fabrication of stories. Fabrication is not for textiles. Fabrication is "made up" stories. Stories and news you can sell whoever believes the fabricated news and stories. It's like working for the industry of fakes and fakers. An industry of "starlets" for the main reason of "entertainment." This industry is so huge, humongous and part of this industry is the network of  huge and incredible amount of players. There are heroes, villains and damage control team. They worked simultaneously to act, prevent, control and it is such a huge firm that outside of their own dominion to rule, sometimes the lowly humans do not really exist. So much of that power trip.

I had so much readings of the legacy of the Courtney's family and clan from the latest book novel: LEGACY OF WAR by famous author Wilbur Smith, my hubby Lorne bought that book last April 30, 2021 and finished reading last May 12, 2021. (459 pages). The story is about Saffron Courtney & Gerhard Meerbach, their legacy after the war I & II and the continuation of their love, friendship, marriage, their spy mission and the children who will eventually inherit their  wealth and fortune. It is the untimely death of Leon Courtney and Manyoro.

On May 22, 2021 - I read the novel ASSEGAI and finished reading it on May 24, 2021 (pages 472). The story of the youthful Leon Courtney as the retired soldier, skilled game hunter and how he met his bestfriend Manyoro and Eva the love of his life. It was an adventure and misadventure rolled into one classic story of romance, betrayal and how to gain wealth from your enemies and take somebody else's woman from another man. Uhm, weird.

May 25, 2021 - TRIUMPH OF THE SUN. Finished reading on May 29, 2021 (498 pages). The story of 3 beautiful sisters: Rebecca, Amber, Saffron, daughters of David Benbrook who died from the hands of the rebel moslem warriors connected to the mahdi. Just like the mahdi and the caliph (khalifa) they are interested in foreigners who are beautiful with almost perfect skin and blonde, with blue eyes for "breeding." Yep, for the purpose of BREEDING.

The 3 sisters met Ryder Courtney who owned various amount of zoo animals from Africa and extensive amount of precious ivory. While the visibility of Penrod Ballantyne in the scenes was actually sort of a "competition" between Rebecca and her younger sister Amber. Saffron only had eyes for Ryder Courtney. Saffron & Amber are twins and too much younger than Rebecca, their eldest. The scenes and setting: Khartoum and the Nile River during the 18th-19th Century. Famine, pestilence, hunger, poverty are part of the usual scene. Then war broke out and Penrod's strategy is more of an a-hole kind of survival, using different women to his cause. Tragic, barbaric war, chaotic. Poor Rebecca, tragic ending for such a beautiful woman. The tragedy of war, pestilence, hunger are too much to bear in this novel. Extreme savagery. Worst than holocaust. There was an issue of "pestilence" and the people were so ravenous hungry that they ate those wild animals, guess what I think they suffered from rabies that's why they were ulullating.

June 3, 2021 - BLUE HORIZON. Finished reading this novel on June 6, 2021 (620 pages). OMG! The Courtney's amassed their wealth and fortune from their enemies. Jim Courtney, the son of Sarah and Tom Courtney fortunately had amassed their wealth of thousands of cattle and ivory from the Nguni tribes. While Dorian and his son Mansur (from Yasmini) got their fortune from Verity's  father Guy Courtney who happened to have 5 chests of gold bars in their ship. Brothers fighting against each other. Why? Read it to find it out. Who would have such extreme luck of having those gold bars, precious tons of  ivory, diamonds and spices? Conquest upon conquest lead to enormous amount of vast wealth keep adding up to their warehouse. Whew! Colossal of wealth and they are not even royals.

 

June 7, 2021 - Started reading BIRDS OF PREY -mid 16th Century. 

 

 Intrigue and curiosity? What is the BIRDS OF PREY about? Sir Francis and his young son Hal on a long journey aboard the ship Lady Edwina to Cape of Good Hope. Further through the pages of this book, you'll eventually freak out that Sir Francis was actually member of the legendary Knights of Templar (which you probably have heard that Order from watching the movie DA VINCI CODE).

WILBUR SMITH, the novelist is a master storyteller, he's our generation's best historical thriller and he is such a brilliant writer that his novels are almost "masterpieces."

The Courtney's have few weaknesses: Beautiful, blonde hair, blue eyes or violet eyes and white complexion women preferably Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor's look-alikes. They will take your fortune and wealth including your beautiful women for their conquest. However, BIRDS OF PREY has that story that differentiate from all the next novels. Husband said, "you should have started reading BIRDS OF PREY first before you read LEGACY OF WAR. " The reason why I read Birds of Prey it's because I was intrigued of the novel BLUE HORIZON and TRIUMPH OF THE SUN. 

Oh, well. Did you know that the Chinese learned how to read from right to the left, not from the left to the right. lol

 I'm on page 125 + already and my eyes hurt. Yup, I am reading too much and my vision is getting blurry. I might need to buy new reading glasses. 

Imagine those  writers and translators of the old manuscripts from long time ago? You wont believe what they suffered and what ailments they had.

That's it. But you know we should greet everyone who will celebrate their birthdays, anniversaries, baptismal, christening, and welcome to our Universe newborns!

Life will go on.

 Last week, that's the weather temperature, 28 C. This week the weather temperature has slowed down and has lowered to 3 C for now. Do you think it will get hotter in the afternoon? It might. Sunshine's good for you especially if you are doing yard work. You'll sweat but a stormy weather will keep you stuck inside your homes and doing the same old things as if the quarantine is not over. 

The isolation and quarantine must end. It's just flu. Yeah, same old story. Vaccination is not over yet for billions of people as it depends on the procurement of vaccine supply. The sense of control and mind control must prevail, he he he. Jokers. If you are part of the control you are dart vader. Maybe there is another sequel for Star Wars.

Hey, there is an incredible, interesting novel of the famous author Wilbur Smith that must be produced as a movie. Just a suggestion.

WILBUR SMITH's THE TRIUMPH OF THE SUN is worthy of a MOVIE. The story is almost like a sequel of Indiana Jones, The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. It was quite dramatic, mysterious, a superb thriller, enigmatic and lots of action. Amazing!

WILBUR SMITH is truly a novelist with great, humongous, incredible arsenal of witty vocabularies. It's hard to put down his books for no apparent reason because you will enjoy every page, as if a never ending story being unfold up to the finish line.
