Memoir

It was not long ago that my Mother-In Law Jean Belle passed away as I remember it was after we came home from our vacation in Philippines. It was shocking for me actually because she looks very strong and very sweet the last time I saw her. She even hugged and kissed me before I left their house. There is also some kind of mystery that I discovered on that day which I cannot explain that's why until now I don't believe that she is dead. I have my doubts.

Right now if you don't mind as I managed to stare at her old photographs in the past with resemblance to Rosalind Franklin, my Mother-in law seemed to have sort of "likeness or similarities" with this woman who should have the award or the laurel for Nobel Peace prize together with James Watson who happened to have same likeness or resemblance with my Father-in law. Or is there something wrong with my vision?

Okay, okay let me tell you this once and for all. Life is a never-ending struggle, discovery and adventure. My Mother-in law passed away peacefully and dunno how many times we have to revive her. I don't know how many times I asked the Lord God to look after her and how many times she was taken at the ICU been revived a lot of times challenging almost everyone that there is life after death. However there are so many things in this world that we don't know about and that is letting go of the natural process. I thank God through her my Grandmother lived in her for quite sometime just to tell me that she loves me. That dreams about my Lola is not enough and she needs a spiritual manifestation in another human life to reveal about the expectation of life as it is and what is life beyond.

After my Mother-in law passed away her husband Bob suffered severe depression. He was always very quiet, he seldom talk, and if he ever wants to communicate he will ask something like for his medication which is cocktail of so many drugs prescribed by his own family doctor or through television news or whatever is in the stock market whether it goes down or it goes up or the weather. He likes Science and fond of reading Science magazine. His life revolves around the news on TV. He always is very kind, generous and always happy when he sees us on holidays and most especially on Christmas Day wherein it was a joyous time for unwrapping Christmas gifts that starts from 9am to about 12 noon. Too many presents to open that's why and getting together for a hearty meal on Christmas eve dinner. Same kind of happenings since the time I arrived here in Canada. Normal reunion celebration or get together for the family which is almost traditionally since 1991 which of course they had it made before .

Mom Jean and Dad Bob Turner are such a very warm happy couple who are blessed with four children namely Adele, Lorne, Tina and Marcy. Lorne's Dad once owned a logging camp which he co-shared with his brother- in- law Rio Pendergast. Dad Robert Bob is an avid sport fisherman, gardener, and a woodcarver. It is from him that Lorne shared the same qualities and characteristic of a man who loves nature, or the environment. The vast ocean space and wide greenery called forest. The forest industry that his Dad made a living to support and provide his own family and the many loggers in this community. He promoted the livelihood of this small community keeping the pulp mill and saw mill alive and in better shape. However just like life itself there is always a beginning and the end...

Lorne's Dad , Robert James Turner passed away peacefully on the evening of the 23rd of November 2010. He would be remembered as the great family provider whose humility and love for work is unequal. May the Lord God and His angels join Bob and Jean together in heaven.

We thank the many people who contributed their gracious lives and memories in his treasured life. Relatives and close friends: Aunt Elle, Aunt Margaret, Don and Carol Schibler and their children, Quiros family : Imelda, Romeo, Christina, Clarizze and most especially to Catherine, etc, etc. To the nurses, caregivers at Yucalta Lodge who assisted and care for him during his stay, our utmost gratitude for their help. To those who were not mentioned because I don't have the list of Dad's other relatives and friends our family would like to thank you all for being a part of his life and memories.

Love from the Turner Family,
Lorne, Verna, Tyrel, Cade and Tamara
