I never run out of a recipe or menu plan. I have dozen of recipe book, some of them been sold in one of garage sale when I went back to my country of origin, few of these recipe books were then given, others I threw them because of its torn pages too old for me to look at page by page.
I consider myself a good cook. Good and economical in so many ways. Using recipe as a strategy with my blogpost who will not be happy with it? But I wont consider my blogs to be the source of anything about "all food" and no substance.
For you know me when I tackle one subject at a time there is that essence of hidden test in it and its up to you to do the rest of the task. Consider me just your great "yoda." lol
Anyway, let me show you of what my sister cooked for me this time. Although I can cook this kind of viand called "the bicol express" or "pinangat made from gabi (taro leaves) with stuffing of grounded ginger, onions, garlic, spices, chillis, dried fish (tuyo), salt, pepper and coconut milk, still is sometimes better to eat other's food. Try other's delicacy, viand and expertise. After all everything in this world is about give and take. No one goes home empty-handed especially when each and every one of us work for the best in unity and affiliation. That's what it should be right? That's what is being righteous and rational.
There are different types of hopia with mung bean stuffings or with pork (hopiang baboy). I learned how to cook hopia during the time when I was associated with Filipina friends in Rupert. We used to cook every week. We bought ingredients from an asian store owned by a Vietnamese and then we share the budget , the ingredients and we share in cooking those delicacies. The photo above is of a different hopia, it's stuffing is made from ube or from a sweet yam of the violet variety. It's delicious though especially when its warm. Great for tea time.
No one can go wrong with "pandesal." It's a traditional Philippine made buns and great for breakfast. Make sure that the buns are hot that the butter melts. Surely good to the last bite.
I don't provide recipe on how to make this kind of food...no not me who will give you the recipe so that you'll be coming here every now and then. Did you know that it's economical to buy the product when it's already made other than making it yourself? That's my advice. Better to buy the things you crave for from reliable source thereby you can save time, electricity and money. The recipe sometimes doesn't give you the best result even if you follow the direction. Recipe making genius never give the exact recipe of their valued products. Business sense and business ethics. Common sense.
Right, we had cheeseburger with bacon and mushrooms for lunch. Left-over spaghetti, vegetable salad. Dessert? Nestle's Fudge and drumstick.
