THE THRONE SPEECH by the Governor General David Johnson yesterday has been read to the members of the Senate and to the members of the Parliament at the House of Commons, to the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, to all the politicians and special guests, visitors and to the public who were watching the reading of speech by the Governor General.
It was a one hour ceremony which started outside of the House of Commons, inspection of the armed forces, the very long carpet entrance to the government building. Have you seen the "archway up on the ceiling?" Does it remind you of the Church where Saint Bernadette Soubiros was buried?
The rites of the passing of the black rod and the golden scepter, the permission to join the Parliamentarians with the members of the Senate. The Chamber is so tight that they end up on standing room only.
The readings begun. The Governor General addressed Queen Elizabeth II, her Royal Family, newborn baby George of Duchess Kate and Prince William. Greetings to the Prime Minster of Canada Stephen Harper, members of the Senate and members of the Parliament.
The Book (Maroon color) was hand over to the Governor General as he opened it starts his reading of the speech delivered through CBC News and other TV Channels in Canada.
