Different Strokes and Different Knots

Hints and clues in my style of writing? It's similar to a seesaw. It goes UP and it goes DOWN. What goes up must come down. What kind of motion is that? You tell me.

Oh it's like a stock market eh? Uhm, maybe. Maybe not.

Lately I've been listening to all these nuts. Not the Nazis or Nutsies but those knots. But wait where all the macadamia nut cookies? I love macadamia nuts to pieces. Of all nuts...who's eating my cookies?

But first let me have these different strokes, different knots. I don't have codigo. I have a lesson plan. Part of it I've learned from my elementary school teacher. She used to let me carry her lesson plan and when she's absent for two to three days or for a week due to certain illness or she lost her voice from yelling too much at my classmates for being such an idiot. I preside the class with the lesson she asked me to teach the whole class. Writing the lesson on the blackboard (actually green board) for everyone to copy and print on their notebooks). After 30 minutes copying the entire lesson, I have to call my classmates for certain discussion about the subject. The next day is a quizz.

Now forget about that let's focus on about KNOTS. What is a knot anyway? Knots are invented and used by early hunters and fishermen when they are hunting and trapping animals for food. The fishermen used to catch fish and seafood with their knotted nets.

KNOTS = are used for measurement of the speed of ship, for counting, it is also known for log line. It keeps record of numbers pert. to abacus (Chinese origin). Knotted ropes called quipas (by South American Indians) also used by Incas so as to record time. Oldest computer.

What other uses of knots? > Measuring the depths of water, sea level, for lifting, pulling and hoisting. It is also a means of support.

POPULAR KNOTS:

1. HERCULES = Reef knot. It is used for magical power influenced by wizards. Thought to have incantation or healing power.

2. GORDIAN KNOT = According to an ancient legend King Gordius tied a complicated knot to a PIN that fastened the chariots to the harness. He told everyone that whoever can untie the knot will rule ASIA. And according to the legend it was Alexander the Great who untied the knot in the ff. order:
a. Alexander the Great untied the knot by cutting them into halves.
b. He loosen the knot first so he could untied the knot easily.
c. He cannot untie the knot so he left without a word, vanished, and then returned to Persia with a new name and was reborn into a she - Cleopatra!

You can choose from " a to c " which one is more believable.

3. COMPLEX KNOT = Monkey Fist. It's a complicated knot tied by sailors. The technique is the rope is thrown away from its target.

4. BOW KNOT = Simple knot. Tying shoe laces, string and ribbon.

5. STOPPER = Knots made in the end of the rope or thread. This is to prevent the rope from slipping out of eye bolt, hole, loop or another knot.

6. SLIP KNOT = knot that slips along the rope or line around which is made esp. made by tying an overhand knot around the standing part of a rope.

7. BUTTERFLY KNOT = Long sash called OBI tied like a butterfly knot as a symbol of young unmarried girl. If the Japanes girl is already married she ties her OBI in a Drum Knot.

8. Do you have a knot? We all have a knot in our body. It's our belly button. The NAVEL. BELLY BUTTON. The baby inside the womb of a mother has a special cord that connects the baby to the feeding tube or sac. so that the baby can breathe and eat and drink. Once the mother delivered the baby into this world, the baby comes out with that long cord. The doctor or midwife hast to tied the cord first into a knot and cut it.

CORDS have 3 KNOTS and that's your assignment > what are those knots?

For the meantime I will have my pearls knotted for my own pleasure.
Godspeed.
