What Else Is New?

Oh my God! I was screaming at the top of my lungs when my husband arrived home with a box on his arms only to find out that he bought me a brand new sewing machine. Well , I was actually in need of a new sewing machine and I only wish for a not so expensive brand name or just the ordinary machine and to have a computerized sewing machine is really a big surprise. Imagine it has 80 unique stitches and 8 variety of ways to have buttonhole setting. The advantages of this new sewing machine is its special features: At my age my vision is not that good enough so the LED lit to see how threading done is a great advantage plus the LCD screen to set the stitches required for sewing. It has many designs and styles of stitches to choose from, the needle threading system is easy and fast. The quick set bobbin drop is extra-ordinary, handy and it's really good for its purpose. This machine is great for quilting too. Wow!

Time to  throw that old sewing machine now. I don't think somebody will want it anyway because it will need a repair and for somebody to repair it and its service cost ? Probably it is really advisable to buy a new one. Yeah my husband did a good job of buying a new machine. THANK YOU! You're the sweetest, loving, caring and generous husband in the world. Thank you very much.

Uhm, thinking...maybe that's my advance Christmas gift from him. lol.

Happilly and delighted to continue my sewing. At first had a small problem on how to use the machine. You know when it's new and computerized you really have to read the manual, the whole book of guidelines. There inside the manual I have to remind myself of using the "bobbin" designed for Brother sewing machine. No other bobbin is allowed to be used for this machine because another kind of  bobbin be of plastic or metal bobbin will damage the machine.

I made few runs of stitches to find out what kind of  stitch is needed for the fabric and its designated number on the computer screen. The tension is the first problem I encountered. Then realizing the thread from the bobbin is not hooked properly to its hook line. I went over the book again and read. That's what it is have to educate ourselves every time we use new machines. The do's and don'ts matter. Learn from mistakes and value every minute from the things and stuff  that you learn every day. It takes an experience to be knowledgeable and it takes an experience to upset a theory.

This is the last of my work from the old sewing machine and hopefully I can make better crafts and clothes with perfect stitches with the new Brother sewing machine after all it's brand new, modern and it is computerized.
