The "visitor" arrived 30 minutes early. I saw her driving the black VW and stopped at the front of our house and got up from her vehicle and asked if she is at the right house and started taking photos of the road. Our neighbor G. was having conversation with my husband only to leave us and he uttered, "30 minutes early." She (whoever she is) told us to hide away because she wants to shoot photos of the house and the front yard. Wouldn't it be nice if she introduce herself first and then hand over her ID and business card? My husband said he wont move his boat away from the front house. To her it doesn't matter. She took more photos as fast as she could, then entered the garage and bowed down on the hot water tank with the brand name "John Wood "... in search for something? Hmm, weird! I should have asked for her ID card before she snapped photographs. She used the garage door to enter the house. Darn! Too many pair of socks I scattered on the utility tub waiting for me to hand wash. You know, have to be in the mood to hand-wash them. I followed her where she wants to take pictures and measure what she can measure for the "appraisal."She entered from one room to another. I had to wake up my kids first before she entered the room in my boys' room. She's working too fast as if in a hurry. She is thirty minutes early! Is she the right one? I first thought the person who will do the appraisal is a man. Now you know why in applying for a job nowadays is based on "Cat's cradle?" It's whom you know, not what you know? So that when that person do something out of the ordinary, we know when and where to find that person.
Then she asked about the heating and the carburator on the sink at the kitchen. I heard her say "carburator." OMG! She took photos of the living room and the kitchen. My husband reminded her that the appliances belong to us including the brand new stove/oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, then the laundry machine and dryer machine. Everything in this house are our property. We moved to this new house without appliances, we are the ones who supplied the appliances. It wont be included in the appraisal value of the house. POINT is about the HOUSE ONLY! If you include everything within the house the value of the house will increase and the property tax might goes up too. For a 25 yr. old house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms the property tax would be estimated as $2,000-$3,000/year (depends on how big is the property or lot). For a newly-built house estimated value of property tax would be higher and that's a problem for new house owners because at the time when they bought the house they already paid the tax then to pay annually that's a total added burden. Nice topic to discuss at the election campaign. Politicians should have to discuss about affordable housing not for the rich and the wealthy. They should discuss about families who are earning paycheck to paycheque and those who are on fixed income such as the retirees especially when the majority of the population living at the island are over 40-50 years of age.
The best way to appraise the property of the house owned by somebody else is when the property or the house is empty. But since we are currently renting the house for $1,500 /month then the appraisal procedure is somewhat different. So would be buyers of houses in Canada might reconsider that to buy a new house in Canada would let you be familiar with having to pay a monthly mortgage of $1,500 to $2,000/month depends on your down payment plus the payment of utilities such as hydro, telephone and internet bills, food, cleaning supply and other miscellaneous fees you have to spend while living in such house. You must have a monthly income of $5,000 to $10,000. To fit in to the budget you must be thrifty, economize as much as possible, learn to utilize, and keep on saving for the future. Off all the lamps, lights and other electronics that are connected to the wall socket (such as toaster, micro-oven, radio, stereo, lampshades). Off the TV when you are not watching or you are not in the living room. Don't let the water runs freely from the faucet while you are brushing your teeth. Probably you wasted a drum of water when you keep the water runs on the sink. It takes only twenty minutes or less to take a bath. Always set the water to warm/cool temperature (lukewarm setting) so that your skin wont get scald or suffer burns. There are so many ways to economize and so many helpful list to choose which one is right for you but most of the helpful list or clues are common sense.
After all the work of photography and measurement by the lady, who is pretty good looking and seems young, I asked for her business card. She gave the business card and I asked her if she is related to the "famous" realtor named S.G. She said, she is actually, AND she "was" related to his cousin. So that's what it is how the measurement happened.
To expand all the troubles of these dramatic episodes dunno really where to go if whatever gags or whatever supposed to be added to make their lives wonderful and to make their shows profitable.
One last time? I'm not a liar but if somebody wants to be actors and actresses in my rented house please may I remind you again IF you want to ACT inside the house please provide us with a mansion with swimming pool and beautiful Japanese garden with drum bridge and a goldfish pond that every time you will enter my house will experiment on the "Pacific Theatre" and who knows maybe we can play samurai too and pretend we are in Tokugawa.
