Our Christmas Tree

NOBODY's sure about the weather condition here in British Columbia. Just this morning, flurries already starting to build up but then suddenly the downpour of water sprinklers from above the sky then abruptly the supposedly snow vanished like thin air.

The mountain in Mount Washington and  other connecting mountains and hills are covered with snow. Great! Only the upper higher elevation of the island is covered with snow. Islands along the Pacific rim? Don't even wish for the snow to cover the whole island. Just expect the unexpected.

I think you have to live under the "tent" and you'll have snow from October to February around your house.

My husband bought a douglas fir tree instead, fresh and there is that kind of scent that goes with it. I don't know what kind of fragrance. Maybe woody fresh scents of pulp especially when you break the branches. It's not stinky. Smell the cut branches or twigs and the aromatic mint is evident. MINT. You know the fragrance of mint? You could use the sap or pulp for gum, maybe. While you can tap the sap or pulp of maple trees for syrup. Maple trees' syrup is the best source of  maple pancake syrup and it's the most fabulous fantastic sweet syrup in the world of course better than honey. darn, dunno why the story goes to maple.

So this is our Christmas tree this year for 2015. Natural tree.

Nothing fancy. It's simple and not too many sparkling ornaments. I dislike the aluminum fake snowflakes, icicles and other tinfoil ornaments that was the cause of my allergy before.

Our Christmas tree angel topper is my Mother-in-law's angel for years then it was given or handover to my husband. She's beautiful, wearing an angelic, queenly gown of gold and glitters holding a wreath and "light."
