As much as would like to post some personal photos of my family here then suddenly I was scared, cold to my feet. I remember those identity thieves and the many conflict of those people who were victims of identity theft.
Or was it too late for many of us?
For one thing, when my husband and I went to the local bank to have my personal data updated last year. I received a mail letter from the bank's employee who is the O.R.A.S. She wanted to see me that time, she even asked my husband to come to the bank with me. So we went there and when we arrived at the bank, CB was busy with something else in the corner of the bank and somebody at the front desk who was asking/interviewing another bank customer for more than 15 minutes, standing! The teller was sitting and the client was standing for more than 15 minutes. Poor old woman who is an aging 70+. What the hell?! Don't they have chairs so that the old woman can sit down and answer to the many questions that new bank teller is asking? The new teller is rigid, not smiling, snubby, dubious, kind of very strict and For GOD sake!!!!! I wonder if that bank is a bank or Interpol. Heh! Where's Jackie Chan? You want to ask multiple questions in hundreds please let your clients sit down so that other customers do not have to wait. Or give the client a questionnaire form and let them fill up the form. FGS!!!!!!!!!
Then it was my turn. I had the white mail envelope with me, a direct letter from CB who is the O.R.A.S. of the bank. I asked her first if I could see Mrs. CB. The bank teller said CB is too busy (?) She looked like being trapped in that corner of the bank, so she attended to my needs. She's not busy that time. She was in that corner of the bank as if being trapped! She, the bank teller asked me my ID's, etc. etc. I was adamant or reluctant to give her my information because it should be CB who should I directly talk to that time. She asked so many questions that do not reflect the standard of the bank's moral code and standard. I think she is being mean and inconsiderate. She asked me where I worked before. I told her what she asked of me, everything. Then when I told her the place of work (restaurants) she said she doesn't know that restaurant and it never exist. She knew Painter's Lodge but not the Chinese restaurant. Whatever! I looked at her face, stared at her face (she's new in the community). I live here in the past 20 years and it's my first time to see her. I felt intimidated the way she acted upon me. I was feeling kind of uncomfortable. CB was in the back side of the bank, not coming to our needs. What is she doing there? She should come to us at our side because she knew us and we are banking in their bank for the past 20 years. Suddenly, I was looking around the bank that maybe it was a hostage drama and it's a "Die Hard" movie or some kind of gag being played upon us. I felt nervous! I was really nervous that there is something weird happening in that bank.
Okay, told her that the restaurant (Chinese restaurant) closed down and it was replaced with another restaurant. She asked my employer in that restaurant which she said, she doesn't know them. Then she asked me again where I worked...etc.etc. I'm not applying for work. WTH is she after? When she said that, "You are in the Roadblock!" What? Am I on the road? I first thought that I'm inside the bank. Am I talking to a crazy person? What kind of script she's having? They let that woman do her work as bank teller or intimidator? Practising to be a starlet? What? My husband listened to the on and on nonsense questions of that woman trying to ridicule me in front of many bank customers. She was interested in the cards I showed like the hospital card and my library card from FEU. She scratched my PR Card. Yeah, Mr. PM Trudeau, that woman scratched my Permanent Resident card. Trying to find GOLD somewhere around the card. Okay not that trying to be sarcastic but the woman questioned me like, who is she???????? My God! This is the reason why it's better to do transaction with machines.
The husband sat there wiggling his head because of the many questions not related to bank transactions. He should have informed the novice bank teller that he is my husband and we have a joint bank account. He did not! Then the new bank teller who is a Filipino approached us and told me that he is no longer a Filipino but a Canadian citizen. Who cares? You looked Filipino with that face of yours, brown skin, short not tall and you are not even a mestizo. Truth is, you, Filipino guy looks like Indonesian. Whether you like it or not whether you would like to be a citizen of any country...your skin, the color of your skin will always deceive your claim.
So what if I'm a Filipina and I'm not a Canadian citizen!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what happened when Filipinos become Canadian citizens or American citizens they looked down upon other Filipinos when they are not citizen of another countries. I don't know what's this stupid situation I am facing that time as if I'm trying hard to be in that bank. WTH! Do you know what land you are standing? It's not the only bank in the world. You don't treat bank customers as if you owned the bank when you are just a new employee or starting to climb the ladder.
Our bills were paid late because of her. We can't open our bank account. We closed our bank account in that bank that we trusted for such a very long time. Can't trust that bank anymore.
OMG! My blood pressure went up so high and I felt like the world is spinning. I tried to calm down and looked at the face of the bank teller and stared at her name plate. She's EMILY. Without a surname. Who is she? Who are you? What's your name? I questioned her this time. Do you have business card? She doesn't have a business card in the bank. For God sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is she? She asked me so many questions and she doesn't belong to the Officer's list of the bank. You should not work in the bank. You are a mole and an embarrassment to the banking institution around the world. I will report you EMILY to the highest IMF that's why.
What Mrs. CB doing in that corner of the bank's office is somewhat questionable. Who are those people inside the bank? Is that a bank or replaced with bandits?
