The Difference

You know now the difference during Martial Law time under the late Pres. Marcos and today's economic and political scene? There is so much budget allocated for : Beautification Project, Green Revolution, Sports, Arts, Tourism, Infrastructures, Health and Education. I remember the time when "KB= Kabataang Barangay officers and members are the pride of their community for their indigenous projects. Everyone supports the community by offering and lending a helping hand. No one is left behind. Almost every one is busy with a certain task. There's always a project to be tackled in the town and within their school. Everyone is an active participant. It was fun. It was joyous, very rewarding services to their country be of voluntarily or paid with wages (on certain employment). It was the Marcos family and cronies providing employment for the majority of the population. Now, the overseas workers have to work real hard in other countries to save their own country.

I don't know if the Filipinos remember those years when the Philippines is a "developing country" not as a Third World Country. Some foreigners tend to call Philippines as Third World because they haven't seen the whole country yet. Besides what these foreigners tend to focus with their lens are the slum areas. But hey houses in slum areas nowadays have two televisions in their living room, owners owned multiple cellphones and kids attending university in Ateneo de Manila ( a prestigious university). How's that? Ah, this story happened to be narrated by one of the persons I know who surveyed "that area" for PRC. Those were the times when the survey or marketing research is done through house to house. Dealing with people from different walks of life in a person to person approach.

You wont believe this after I graduated from College, I also applied in that Marketing Research firm. I passed their exam. The interview is somewhat excruciating because I usually speak my mind. The interviewer thought he's having a debate with me instead of an interview. I guess I am very opinionated so that didn't work out. I landed in another company much bigger and better, became my own boss in my chosen field (work) . I only see my "real boss" when it's time to hand over my monthly report and to pick up supply of medicines for free clinic operations.
