I seldom get out of my comfort zone rather getting out of the house is more than just buying groceries or fabric at my favorite fabric store, otherwise getting out is not my duty and responsibility it's not even in my point of order. I only find out what's happening in my small community through local newspaper and from old friends relating few stories of who are the newcomers or who died. Lately I decided not to order from an aquaintance because it seems that her news is always about people who recently passed away or those people who are already posted in the obituary of the local newspaper. I hate those sad stories especially in a small city like where I am.
Seldom there is violence in the city, or rather consider this small community as a town neither rural nor urban. In other words somewhere in between. But it's okay no matter how small the population still is it's peaceful here and I think am the only "loud" here because of my blog. The blog that never sleeps, always active and productive which is good. Alive and kicking. We actually need blogs like this to make the city lively and vibrant just like the metropolis and just like the main Vancouver island. There are so many beautiful people here and hardworking people with cheery character and optimistic view, well until the pulp mill closed down and the saw mill shut down it's business. Gone was the food fair were old folks, the seniors and club officers and members used to get together and have cup of coffee. Gone are the familiar cheerful character and seniors who were my constant customers for coffee, ice cream and cinnamon buns. Seventeen years ago when all is great with the economy and everything is good and happiness abound. The old shopping mall was closed down and then managed by new business people willing to boast new kind of trendy commercial atmosphere and maybe it will boost and enlighten the spirit of commercialism in this part of the province. Maybe if they can also use the shopping mall for food fair and craft fair and many extra avenue for the many city residents starved of pure entertainment especially in this time for the holiday season.
As if TV is not enough and so as computers. Whatever!
I know adding such extras mean extra pouring out financial expenses when times are so hard already. Anyway just my idea. My opinion is sometimes out of this world and it's up to you not to follow.
Know what? Canadians have seen the mad-rush of Canadians and Americans for the Black Friday shopping frenzy and that made so many business owners think and have that kind of trend for next year. But of course Boxing Day is one of a kind here and it's bigger than Black Friday. So hold your horsies and make sure you have your finance in stability when those sales arrive.
If you want to wait for TARGET and discover what they have in store for you...you'll have to wait for next year because the building they are supposed to get in and display their products is under renovation.
Zellers out. Target in. You think it will be a NEW exciting additional and exciting shopping trend for all of us here? Let us see, watch and discover.
For the meantime Wal-mart and Commons the place to be for your shopping needs. The more stores the merrier and the competition? Stiff, tight, robust and extreme! Yeah maybe!
