Likeables?

Cloudy day today and it may progress to low precipitation and it might rain and who knows maybe there'll be a storm? Who knows? Remember weather is supposedly unpredictable. Let God worries about what weather we'll have in the next day and the next day after. All you need to do is just "be prepared just like Girl Scouts do."

In this part of the island there is no hurricane, no flood, no calamity whatsoever. We are lucky in this part of the world. However, unemployment is higher than usual after the pulp mill closed and the saw mill shut down and the mining was stopped. Well, I think the mining industry picked up again. What's the biggest livelihood in this part of the island is the fish hatchery, winery, cattle raising and sheep raising, fishing and realty business opportunities. This year so many new houses were built and sold. That's unbelievable despite the worth of the house and lot. Unlike in the metropolis Vancouver when real estate agents have problem selling houses. In the mainland because "it's the mainland" houses and residential buildings are worth more than million dollars, even just a piece of lot and a house that is almost like a century old dwelling yet the value is worth more than you can imagine. Awful and absurd! I think close amenities to the city and the skyscrapers can make any house big or small valuable in the eyes of people who want to live in that kind of urban area.

My family lives in the semi-rural area where there is that peace and quiet. An area where houses are built at least with enough space for us not to hear what's happening with the other family on the other side of the fence. It's totally different from the environment where I used to live way back in the Philippines when and where I can hear the conversation of other neighbors from my bedroom. Ha! The listener! lol. I can hear the neighbor's dogs barking most of the time and our radio is so loud enough for them to listen to what's happening with politics in the Philippines. Yup, we know what you are watching on TV and listening on the radio and every family knew each other's name including the name of their dogs and cats. Then there's neighbor who used to copy the numbers I used to play and bet for Jai Alai and he gets to win when I won those particular numbers. He's winning is bigger because he used to bet more money on those particular numbers.

Life in the Philippines is more interesting and exciting even if life's so hard. Here in Canada you have to entertain yourself by having computer and have all the gadgets to satisfy the needs of being pre-occupied. You have to pay somebody to talk to you. It's weird right? It's happening now too in Philippines when people have to buy computers, gadgets such as cellphones and iPads to talk to their neighbors. They have problem now too with talking because everyone's so used to texting. One day job interview will also be in "texting mode." While in school, teachers are teaching the students to be independent to mind their own work studying by themselves using their computer.

I admire those diligent devoted parents who will homeschooled their children and those who are homeschooling their kids at present time. Kudos to you parents especially the Mothers who will teach their own kids at home instead of sending them in school. Would that be good enough? How about their social-interaction with other kids? Somehow it will suffer. Their social skills will diminish and be devalued unless of course if the kids are socially inclined with their own siblings and their neighbors.

Socializing is done anyways through the internet nowadays and what to lose? It's the normal trend since the last 15 years. Problem is will these kids be employed because their background is through tele-communication using computers? The only people who are employed and have employment stability are those who are working WHERE? Yeah that's the million dollar question. Where can you find work? Some people will go on suicidal to find employment... you know. When there's so much competition it would be harder and so much  harder to find work. You can find work by being an employer and provide yourself with the right kind of work for yourself. Sad.

Even politicians will have to use their own financial means to have work and to stay afloat. That's the new trend now. Trendy eh? TV reporters will have to provide their own portfolios of how they can cope up with the news reporting and stay on their seats in front of camera.

There'll be more and more bloggers who will provide and make their own gimmick so that they can be read through the internet. Facebookers will use other people's wise sayings and quotations so that their friends will praise their attitude and thinking that is "similar" to the writers of those famous wise sayings. Beautiful photos and wonderful pictures of sceneries will be posted just to be admired and click "like" by your friends. Life will go on because everything that is good is pleasing and should be received by people with a good heart, mind and conscience.

Unexpectedly, my husband praised the blueberry cake that I baked. My God! This is the first time that he liked what I baked. It must be good. It is superbly delicious that's why.
