I think this Christmas 2016 is the busiest of all in celebration for a Christmas Eve family dinner, simply because we have my sister and her family, my 3 nieces and their 2 friends with them and my husband's couple of friends joined us in making a humble yet happy festive celebration of sharing food, wine and desserts.
My husband woke up early morning to prepare the ingredients for bouillabaise which consist of different kinds of seafood and herbs and spices: shrimps, mussels, scallops, salmon, manila clams, leeks, fennels, onions, spring onions, parsley, black peppercorn, salt, saffron (tiny specks of saffron cost $12) orange rinds, tomatoes, etc. I cooked a special kind of pancit noodles (farkay combi vermicelli) with veggies, pork and shrimps, beef pasta rotini, fruit salad, vegetable salad with dill dressing. Shrimp rings, scalloped bacons, chili wrapped with cheese for appys. We went to M&M's Food mart to buy some more appetizers. Then they brought some food such as embutido and spring rolls plus fruit cake. The couple friends of husband brought assorted sweets: butter tarts, lemon squares, shortbread cookies. We have a choice of wine selection and beverages: Chardonnay, Vodka, Chivas Regal, Wiser's, Merlot, Kahlua, Peller Estates, and 2 sparkling berry grape juice + peach-grape juice, cranberry juice and lots of pops and Van Houtten coffee, + Clamato juice + Woodbridge from Andre' and Leslie. Thanks!!! We don't have crabs this time of the year. One of the friends would rather have crabs. Come to think of it, it's only this Christmas when we don't have crabs. That's rather unusual eh? But we have TURKEY & LECHON!
At first, everyone's not feeling at home until few hours later and after dinner that everyone becomes comfortable, maybe its because there's really nothing much to open and offer the right conversation in that moment of time. I'm always been talkative but it's impolite sometimes to ask without offending somebody. Well, it was like that in every occasion, in every party, everywhere. Only at first hour that everyone were at uneasy then later on people gets tipsy. I have 32 GB of memory in my digital camera and I feel uneasy too whether my "guests are comfortable with "picture taking" I know they have cellphones with camera and they can take pictures too but digital camera have wider lens and wider space. Oh I think some of them do not like being photographed, just like my sons who are camera shy. My daughter feels the same way. I was shy too when I was their age. I don't like camera and being photographed is terrifying when I was young. I'm afraid that I'll be photographed as snobby face , pouting lips, frowning, eyes closed, not being photogenic, or self-conscious. That the light focus will not be up to my expectation. That I will look having dark skin when I'm not dark. Or having white skin when my skin tone is just fair or light brown. Worse of all when the photograph turned out ugly when I'm not ugly. Well, those are the many hang-ups or hassles that everyone used to think about themselves and I'm not alone with that common mind-thinking. ha ha Whatever! I don't need to explain myself do I have to? ... eh?
That's why the SELFIE promotion was discovered and millions of people are addicted to that kind of photographing themselves in modern times.
So okay, better take pictures of food... for now. lol
After hearty dinner, we all have our pictures taken to remember our traditional family Christmas Eve dinner 2016.

My sister and daughter. I think my sister is already tired and sleepy. She worked from 7 AM to 6 PM today that's why.
I looked tired and sleepy too because I woke up early in preparation for our hearty dinner.
See, what I told you? At least my niece Cathie smiles perfectly here and told me that she needs to practice smiling from now on especially that she will be photographed so many times on her upcoming nuptial next year.
Congratulations on your engagement (engaged to be married) with the lucky man Rob.
My husband RL photographed me and my daughter Tam before we unwrap our gifts.
Okay, that's enough for now. Here's wishing you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a HAPPY PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!
