Movie Night

After a hearty dinner of spaghetti last night and after I cleaned the kitchen, my daughter Tam and I watched a movie. This time we rented the movie MONEY MONSTERS starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney. It was a story of Lee Gates (played by George Clooney, a TV host, financial analyst) who was held hostage in front of his TV viewers, inside the studio while Patty (director for the live show) and the crew team watched the whole drama. What could be the impact of a non-diplomacy situation when suddenly a depressed, crazy human being run-amucked, somebody you don't know and started being violent and you as a confused non-violent individual do not know what's happening then do you have that adrenaline rush to get out and escape and save yourself from harm?

Who knows? God knows what could happen in that kind of abrupt situation. In MONEY MONSTERS the guy named Kyle who pointed a gun at Lee Gates ( and let him wear the bomb vest) seem not the kind of professional killer we had seen in movies such as DIE HARD, DIE HARD II and UNIVERSAL SOLDIERS. The terrorists in DIE HARD are brutally professionals without remorse. The man looks depressed but he's not a killer. He was upset that his money he invested in IBIS turned into nothing. ZERO! He blamed that the financial investment company is a fraud and he was scammed of his hard earned money. He didn't lose millions of dollars, just $60,000! He is not rich , he is just probably a hardworker and investing his money could lead to double whammy or he will earn more than what he can bargain for. So many millions of people do the same thing but the fishy thing about investments and or investing is the amount of % being taken off and to lose the whole amount of money invested in just a wink of an eye or in just few seconds are mind boggling. Investing money in stock market is like a gamble. If you watch many of the movies of Chevy Chase wherein he played the part of a compulsive gambler and every time he lose, losing all of his money and almost lose his own family from his crazy compulsiveness.

But in this movie MONEY MONSTERS the reason for such conflict of losing your investment depends on analytics or whatever programmed has been used as expressed by the "computer programmer." Unless of course there are "hands" that manipulated the transaction. Wow! Really? So they discovered the problem and how those involved messed up the stock market and how some people go bankrupt because of some evil doers with evil hands manipulated the outcome of the ups and downs of numbers. Analytic?! Rigged? Power outage? Too many links and too many rats? Too many wirings and plugs get out of socket? Loose connections? There are too many reasons. The atmospheric situation where the computer is locked or stored? The power heat and surcharge of electrical outlet? Monkeys operating the computerized storage. Well, you know they use monkeys and octopus hands to do the maneuvering of numbers for experiment. Meaning? It's animals whose got the control, sometimes not to take the blame or so that no humans are to be blamed for the result. Or they let millions of doves pecking on numbers and let them do the analytics. WEIRD? Funny?

By the way, you thought it was Julia Roberts who directed "Money Monsters" but it was the multi-awarded actress Jodie Foster.

You thought IBIS is a bird who came from Egypt and watch how those people act and behave but IBIS is a Financial Investment Company.

Dunno really! I don't know how investments company do their work. It could be a matter of luck and how fortunate you are in handling numbers.
