The Simple Life

We have two dining tables and 12 chairs, actually two sets of different style and two different brand of wood. My hubby doesn't like to sell the first set that we had because of its sentimental value. We lived in bigger houses before and the kitchens were wider and larger that can fit two dining tables and chairs. So we had them from year 2000 (the first set) then the second set of dining table & chairs in the year 2011. From year 2011 to year 2015 had the two sets until when we moved to a smaller house (3 bedroom house with 1 1/2 bathrooms). Moving from smaller house made us downsize and get rid of the larger furniture so that most important furniture can fit in the house. The large sofa, two bedside tables, one recliner chair, desk, two office swivel chairs, one mid sized freezer. All these furniture and few appliances were taken to the dumpsite. I told my husband to have garage sale for all those stuff because they are not worn out stuff. But because he wants an easy disposal of such stuff because we are in the moving process and he doesn't know where to store them because the house we are to move in has no workshop and no garage. We now live in an apartment, a sixplex type apartment, like in a townhouse.

Downsizing is more common than usual when kids are already grown up and had outgrown their bedroom suites and coordinates and other kiddy stuff. My husband also has his own stuff of work tools or power tools and without garage or bigger workshop then that is a huge problem. We have to pay extra for the storage of our boat because there's no space for the boat here. Other boat owners have to dock their boats at the dockyard and pay for the use of the dockyard or pay rent for the storage facility with 24 hour security surveillance. Boating and fishing in a time when oil and gasoline are priced so high, rocket-sky-high inflation then better be frugal and live through economic times. Wait for those economic genius to prove their worth in strategic forms and skills they can contribute for progress or otherwise create a total failure when it comes to politics and economy and we all suffer the same.

Downsizing is not for everybody. Downsizing is not about the movie of the actor Matt Damon, were humans decided to downsize their physical bodies to fit in to the kind of society they want. Downsizing is simply creating a simpler more convenient way to process things, to live the way it used to be not causing so much mess, sorting out and organizing things or the skills to make life worth living. There are good things in life that are of benefit even if  we grow old. However, when space is not enough there's no other choice than have that option.

Today is Sunday and what else is new?

Making life simple and hassle free.
