Tossing Coins

This green pond of entertainment serves a lot of purpose not only for the restless birds, boat enthusiasts, or whatever strange creatures it may have but wait till the pond get frozen and I bet there will be many children who will put on their skates or roller blades and glide on that open ice rink.

Hmm...why not Campbell River have one like that? They can have an open ice skating rink by winter and a pond at summertime. City of Campbell River has land area more than what it takes for the many projects. LOL! Yeah right I was wishing for something when they are already having problem with the Spirit Square. I wonder who had chosen the name. SPIRIT SQUARE! Too many names to choose from and they would like to have that "park" named that way.

I would like to think that square serves multi-purpose too. All purpose of a square or quad. Really nothing is concrete until the project is finished. That's all I can say.

Why not have a wishing well or fountain at the middle of Foreshore Park. I love tossing coins in denominations of quarters (25 cents) and make a wish. I used to do that every time I see a fountain I can't help throwing coins. In Hong Kong there are lots of park with water fountain, running or cascading waterfalls or brooks I dropped at least denominations of 5 cents to 10 cents. I don't know why but it must be a habit of mine since I was a little child way back the time when the parish church had that miraculous grotto near the pond full of goldfish. Every time coins are tossed you can wish.

Take it from the coin-tossing wishing well and fountain in Italy. It's been a part of their life in their country that you may notice that their fountain is filled with wealth. Coins are made of special metal called silver, bronze, copper and who would like to throw gold coins? You'll never know there are probably strange people who will do that.

Have you been to the Nanaimo? In one of the big mall in that area there's one particular place that I go first. It's the square pond with the big metal sculptured clock. I gathered my coins from my purse and tossed them backwards wishing for something special. Why I do that? Why I keep doing it? It must have been silly of me to do such childish act.

You know what? Every time I threw and tossed coins on a pond, stream or fountain of water my wishes all came true. That it became a habit. A hard habit to stop.
