The father and son decided it's best to celebrate birthdays alone at the river fishing for fresh water salmons. Fortunately they caught five big fresh slippery salmons. So my plan of having to tell the whole story about the long travel that we had from the upper part of BC to Vancouver and to the island is better left unsaid or stories that need a cut. You know such thing as filming a movie an the director shouted CUT. So be it. My son who is now 17 years old, a fine, handsome young man is now 17 years old. I was married to Lorne for 19 years and our first born was born in 1993.

Privacy is what makes us totally different from each other and his mind is not mine. He prefers now to be alone, be with himself and the choices that he will choose and make is up to him got  nothing to do anymore with his life, education  or career. Children who are born in the cold front tend to have that kind of thinking. Obviously he is more modernized western kid who would rather have a self-image built on "individualistic point of view" not image brought on by the shadow of their own parents. Independence.

I remember the time thatI had my independence only when I was out of the country for the very first time. Away from Philippines at age 28. At least. Knowing other countries aside from the country of origin can truly make you independent and mature. I 've learned to know the culture of other people, their ethnicity, way of life, the language, etc, and all the myths and legends erased because on this personal experience you'll know first hand what it is like to meet other people without any help from your own family. It is just you alone battling for survival in a concrete jungle. Thank God I was not lost in a very ultra modern city to tell you the truth I am at lost here in Canada because of  too many barriers. Invisible barriers that only to find out is to become a specialist in Veterinary medicine. No wonder why the mysterious entity advised me to just change my course from psychology to Vet. Now I know why.

Yes I know it's too fishy in here. It wont be a City of Salmons for nothing.

I had just finished cleaning the five salmons. One for dinner and 4 salmons to be kept in the freezer for the next meal. I missed my parents, they probably would love to have those salmons for sinigang, smoked, deep fried or special spanish viand. Anyway, that's all for now. Thinking...of how many knots do I have to solve so that we could move on to the rancher. Because I would cut all the many knots that you have in this country once and for all until you don't have any country left.
