My admiration with high-rised apartments, tall buildings and skyscrapers towering over the sky is more fun than seeing the wide ocean deep. This is me admiring the works, creative works of the very creative people who worked hard in blood, sweat and tears in order to let these concrete buildings stand up with pride.
The modern style and architectural designs of the condominiums, commercial establishments are a pleasant sight to see. Thank goodness for the educated architect and robust metal workers who worked so diligently in bringing up a modern metropolitan city. The civilized concrete jungle made by manual hands and machines buildings of steel, rock and glass...awesome!
The right use of a populated land where almost everyone can enjoy the luxury and convenience of a new world civilization. Who wont like such idea of living in a big city that is in order.
So while our vehicle tread on to the concrete busy road and my hands holding tight to my digital camera as I snapped and flashed shots of what's happening on the streets and then suddenly hundreds upon thousands of birds flew right at the middle up in the sky almost darkened the scenery. At first all those birds were so close together that they looked like a black blanket of dark clouds joined together. I almost screamed in fright. That is so shocking to me. The photograph didn't show the thousands of birds, they flew so fast and I could only snap after I was able to breathe and only captured few of those birds as seen above image.
Nice, beautiful buildings and tower side by side with each other. Tourist bus with tourist and expats on the other side of the road taking pictures also. Huh! I'm not alone. Why not eh? Photography is not so common now in this generation when videocam even cellphones have their built-in digital camera or instagrams.
That industrial truck ahead of us was a bit slow knowing there's a big truck of a cement mixer on the right side of the road. Yes it's really too busy there. Too many vehicles, bus, cable train, buses that are joint-together like in a shape and style of an accordion. Many pedestrians walking fast at the sidewalk and crossing the street when the traffic lights changed. Women wearing tight fitting jeans and on high heels. Then there was this old man sitting on the concrete stairs and he looked drunk and beside him a small cart with his bag of clothes and dirty stuff. But wait ...how the hell that guy is there? Hmm, weird! Is there a film shooting or what? That guy looks like the movie actor _________! Ah nevermind, maybe he's just a look-alike. He can't be homeless and living on that side of the street. OMG! That is sooooo weird!
Just as I viewed the next building, yeah that one tower with the round as in "circle' with four layered cone shape at the middle is amazing and it reminds me of the Shoemart building in Carriedo in Quiapo Manila, Philippines. That can't be Shoemart eh? I'm in Vancouver, Canada. Hmmm... Alright, that mysterious woman is staring at us too maybe asking what are we doing there, hahahahah!
That gorgeous building is one hundred years old. Hard to believe but I think it's more than or over hundred years old. It's known as the Vancouver Hotel. Famous hotel that is almost "legendary." That signifies or symbolized that many buildings and towers will be renewed or renovated but somehow that building will always remind you that you are in the heart of Vancouver mainland in Canada.
Time, places, people will change and the whole environment will change but if you have that kind of symbol that symbolized the "original place or site" as am edifice or a memorable post to remind whoever see that area you'll know that you are in the right place and in the right direction because even map and the whole land will change as the years go by.
What could happen in the next one hundred years, in the next millennia (millennium) is still unknown.
