Yield The Right Way

It's nice to invite people to come over for special occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, holidays (Thanksgiving day, Christmas, New Year) maybe that's customary in Philippines and in other parts of the world, however... there's always that BEWARE.

There's always pre-cautionary measure in inviting people for lunch or dinner in Canada especially when the guests you are inviting have diabetes or health ailments or vegetarians, not to mention choosy fuzzy eaters spoiled brats. When I first arrived here in Canada and I was inviting kids for my childrens' birthday I was cautioned first of what I will have for the party, what kind of food because some children have some kind of allergies. I first thought that's a joke but never to have peanuts or any kind of nuts on cupcakes, cake or cookies. Do not give something sweets to some kids whose got problem with diabetes and those children with "developmental problems." OMG! How would I know? Do I have to ask those children one by one whose got problem with food? They are children,  they will eat something delicious even if you stop them.

So, if ever the best way to keep the invited guests happy is having birthday party at the McDonald's or to a restaurant and have private party there instead of the house. Tsk! Tsk! That's what it is folks the invited guests are feeling happy that their way is the highway not your kid's. In Canada, you always have to sway or yield to desire of your guest. Is that good or some kind of manipulation?

LEARN to know what deception and what are bluffs. It's good to be GOOD but you know when manipulators can change the way your culture and heritage is at stake. Diversity is sometimes a game-changing mind boggling games and you should be in control when you are in your own home. Remember it's your HOME. Whatever is on the table that's the kind of food you'll have. You don't like the food, don't eat it. Be thankful you are invited and there's no such drama that you'll have extra special food to keep up with the Joneses.
