Happy Labor Day!

As much as I would like to post orchids just right in time for Labor Day however I don't have orchids or orchid plants in my house or yard. I have petunias. I like this flowering plant  because of its bell shape and available in variety of colors such as violet. purple, red, pink, yellow, white, maroon, fuschia, orange, tangerine, the only colors they don't carry are blue, black, brown, and green.

Who knows maybe in the next few years to come leading botanists will most likely experiment on those colors just like they did with species of orchids and roses.

Petunias thrive where and when there is so much sunshine but you have to water them everyday. This plant loves water and when you maintain and care for their existence then they grow abundantly and blooms more flowers. After each bell shaped flower withers another new buds come out radiantly and splash its color. That's how amazing petunia is. A very radiant cheerful flower for all ages.

Adjacent to those hanging petunia planters are these pretty flowers. The hibiscus plant planted by the owner of this house that we are currently renting. Yes we are renting this house after my husband sold the house we had in another place. It's okay we can move to another house if he wants to. Or rather if I'm bored and if there is something wrong again. I mean I can't find a perfect home for me and my family. Moving out of town, or moving to another house seems like our way of life already. It doesn't bother my kids nor bother me at all. It's just that I always want change. A change of goal, change of coat and clothes, destination, change of purpose and change of mind.

I can change the wind if I want to , he he he I'm just kidding. Mahangin ba? Type nyo naman ng hangin eh di ba? Swooshhhhhhhhh ))))))))

Beautiful chiffon hibiscus in its attractive joyous purple color.
I'd better concentrate on seeing something beautiful before the storm comes.

The last piece of the banana cake I baked the other day. I have to fatten my ego again. Yes again talking to myself. I used to talking to myself because people here in Canada aren't used to talking. That autistic and autism is a big problem. So many of those autistics and the stats is now 1 in 50 children is autistic.

If you are a speech pathologist and you have knowledge about autism maybe you can make a survey about how many are affected and afflicted with autism. Why this diagnosis is so rampant in certain demographic area? Why teachers will ask for higher wages due to the fact that they are to handle so many autistic students in their class. How many students should be in one class room and how many special eds are required to handle these kids? In California there are three special education teacher who cares and support one autistic child. Is that bad? How about in Canada?

When I was in the Philippines and when I was in Grade one  (1970-1971) when only few students can write or read and talking in front of the class is a huge problem it can be attributed to students who didn't start pre-school or kindergarten. It could be they were shy and not sociable, timid and afraid. Each room is filled up with 40 to 50 students. You know how crazy hot inside the room with 50 students and without aircon nor ceiling fan? The school doesn't have any washroom. You can run to your own home to do your bowel movement. The class president sometimes helped the teacher lessen her work load at the class room. The class president also substitutes for the class as a teacher when the teacher missed or absent because of sickness. Imagine 50 students. How obedient these kids are? Very obedient students who are not spoiled brats especially when the teacher used strict discipline and because they used a bamboo stick on the board. In my time teachers are regarded as "godlike" who can command and listened to by their pupils.  However when they (students) reached third grade and still having problem with the language it was because the language being used at home is the problem. Hard to believe that there are millions of immigrants (legal and illegal) in Philippines during those crazy typhoons. Count the years and those immigrants whose language is totally different from the Filipinos but yet were able to adapt the hot climate and are now fluent in speaking the local language. If you want to know the original inhabitants of the Philippines speak fluent Tagalog and or Taglish. Having the immigrants to speak Tagalog language fluently is a plus but not a slap on every Filipinos face simply because who are the real true Filipinos now? So many millions of them want to become American citizen.

To those devoted smart teachers who sometimes made sacrifices for their students to learn the hard way so that in the end they know that they were able to help them in the right conscientious way to reach their goal and ambition. So that through them as teachers and mentors they were successful in bringing out the best in them. Just like the parents who worked so hard, labored enough to bring and raise their children to give them the right good education that they deserve so that they can be the role models of the community and society where they live. To the hard working people on earth, HAPPY LABOR DAY! It's a holiday of course.  The end of the roll is a give and take process, share the knowledge and pass it on.
