It's Always My Turn

My friend asked me to go for a walk last week, she needs to lose weight, I need to lose at least 1 or 2 lbs. of my cholesterol and I think walking is a good exercise so we went for a walk and started at Tyee Spit. She parked her car right there close to the cruise ship dockyard and to my amazement there's that small fence that separate the dockyard from the sidewalk and in between is that of few old wooden cross. OMG! It was once a cemetery? Oh my God! A walk amongst the tombstones!!!!!!

Right there it reminds me of the Californian logo symbol or seal. I don't know just that it's the perfect seal. Deja vu!

Then my mind travels through time of how Vancouver Island was discovered by Captain Vancouver. From the Vikings to the time of Amerigo Vespucci and Columbus. Who knows maybe the old, old US President came to trade here. Guess who that American president?

So we walked along the pathway, through the narrow lane. It was windy and the breeze is cooler than usual but the sun is up there shining so bright. I was so glad that I brought my sweater and my sunglasses. Then Stella had chosen a nice wooden bench. We placed our shoulder bags on the bench and then I noticed that there are two square metal plate signs with messages on the backside of the bench. On those square metal plates are names MAXINE EGAN with message: Better Be Fishing. On the other right hand corner side of the bench is the sign VAN EGAN with inscription message: Better Be Rowing.

Hey! I was surprised! I found those signs very humorous. Wait a minute, I remember Mr. Van Egan passed away many years ago. He was a Campbell River school teacher and know what? He was my husband's teacher many, many years ago. How long ago was that eh?

We took beautiful panoramic view of the place and snap photos of ourselves beside the douglas tree that is perfect for Christmas tree for December. No, I wont cut that tree for our Christmas tree. We used to buy our Christmas tree at a tree farm. You know what's good here in Canada you cannot just cut trees even if there are millions of trees around the city. You are not allowed to overfish. You have to own a fishing license to go fishing and there's the right amount of fish you have to catch. You have to measure the fish to its right size if its a small sized fish then you have to release it back. It's the same process with crabs. All female crabs caught by crab traps should be released to propagate in the ocean. You can have the male crabs only if they measured 6.5 inches anything lesser than that measurement should be released back to the ocean.

Along the shore of the ocean where boats are passing by, tug boat, commercial ship, motor boats, numerous birds flying and not to mention the sea plane that flew every now and then. That area is also a hangar for small planes. My husband Robert L. was once a pilot for small planes and that's the kind of planes he flew before. Took pictures again and after an hour time to go somewhere else and walked once again in another park. There are so many parks in Vancouver Island. To mention them all? Oh my, I wont have space in my computer. It's like Colorado enriched with mountains aside from Aspen. Imagine Colorado has 2,000 mountains and some of them have no names. Don't worry I will name them one by one. He he ! While Finland is the only country in the world with 60,000 lakes. FGS! How bizarre! That's why it's finland. Hard to believe but it's true! So true and speaking of parks? I wonder where's McArthur's Park? Aha hah ahahahah! J/K Yeah, yeah... I SHALL RE TURN.
