Families with children are probably happy with the morning news about the increase payment for UNIVERSAL CHILD CARE. Great! More happiness for the families with too many children receiving the payment.
I wish the government increase the PENSION FOR RETIREES they need it more than ever. They worked so hard and they deserved the needed amount of pension for burgeoning expenses for medical, dental, and living allowance. So many of the retired seniors who cannot really retire even if they are over 70 years of age because their pension is so small.
Think of your parents when you think about pension. Think of the many old people working at the malls, department stores so old ready for retirement but cannot retire because pension wont be enough to pay for their monthly mortgage for the house, monthly pension not enough for their day to day food consumption because most of their money goes to health care, for their medicines to cure their high blood, arthritis, dementia, and other malady of old age or senility. According to a survey, staying at the nursing home is not an option nor is the last resort because who can pay a monthly $3,000 to $5,000 for a senior to be cared for in that kind of facility? Who can afford that?
So, if you see old people working over the age of 70 to 75 years old that's a total slap on the face of the government who cannot figure out who they need to help. Help your own people rather than the refugees. Think of refugees only when you have excess or surplus. Think of yourself when you reach old age.
Or maybe the best possible solution is to hire a nurse from third world countries and let the nurse live at the house where the patient to be cared for, maybe it wont be up to $3,000 to $5,000/month payment but lesser than that budget. Because if the payment is $5,000/monthly? Then you should have a swimming pool and a park for the old person to enjoy senility at the nursing home. That would make sense!
