Unforgettable Memories

What do you enjoy doing aside from blogging? I know for one thing that most of you enjoy watching TV or movies. Some of you enjoyed having dinner once in  awhile in the local fancy restaurant or a picnic along the beach or just be surrounded with people having fun at the local pub while watching the sports you love. Others love sailing their sailboats or their catamaran , motorboats or perhaps enjoy paddling canoes and kayaks. So many outdoor activities that I would like to do but my husband would rather do it with somebody else. He loves fishing and boating with other people. I'm glad that my son Tyrel goes with him fishing but only because he wants a friend to go with them. Besides, fishing is a manly endeavour. Wives should stay at home and do the housekeeping, cooking and other housework intended for mothers like me. Mothers who worked outside of the home should hire nanny if they have young children or hire housemaid if the mother cannot do the housework because of disability or she is busy at work outside of her house. Well, only if they can afford to pay the maid $1,200/month or up to $1,500/month salary for maid.

I envy other families who get together and do their family outings home away from home. We never travel as a complete family out in the boonies or doing RV with other families. We had family camping in the forest or had swimming and picnic many years ago. The last time we went camping was year 2008 and all the members of our family had fun for two to three days and the fourth day would be a disaster, sort of a total pain because you know being in the forest without fresh water coming from the faucet. There is no washroom and bathroom convenient enough to do bowel movements. Would it be nice to have a private personal RV with all the convenience of home away from home? Otherwise, it's best to stay at home. People tend to get out of their comfort zone away from their home when it becomes like a pigeon hole... can't blame them.

The only great thing with camping is, every members helped in the preparation of food. Everyone gathers firewood and or big wood to chop using ax. Everyone sleeps early and there's no TV to keep us awake until 12 midnight. Less of the modern technology. Although, my daughter and her brothers brought  their Gameboy or Nintendo to play or stay awake. The generator helps to keep mobilize the easy fast convenient of cooking, for the stereo and radio to play music. The small boat or canoe to get further to the middle of the sea when fishing and moving to the other side of the small island. That was fun way back then.

There were early travels that my children never realized or remember because they were only babies when we had that long hours (17 hours) flight to Philippines via Air Canada and Philippine Airlines. We had that long trip from Vancouver mainland to Prince Rupert via long driving. It was two days drive, we had to stop at Quesnel or at Williams Lake for the night then travel again for the long duration return to the city. Then when we moved from PR to Vancouver island via BC ferry. So many travelling back and forth every Christmas to meet the in-laws and joined them to celebrate Christmas, so many Yuletides and holidays to remember. mostly travelling here and there. I wish my children were able to bear those awesome amazing  memories in mind... however that's impossible right? Can children under age 5 remember events?

I can remember some unforgettable events before age 6. I remember how I was saved from drowning from the Sabang river. Living in a  legendary province, almost like little Borneo where there are komodo dragons on the ground. Yuck! Bayawak!!!!! Eeeeeeehhhh!

I had memories of a dying cancer stricken cousin when she died when I was only 5 years old. I had memories clear and vivid when I joined my sister in her Grade V and GradeVI elementary years,  with our Christmas photos of the whole class. I attended their grade school class as a "saling-pusa." I still remember few of her classmates' names. I can remember the old movies my Lola, sister and brothers went to see including the old movie of Eddie Mesa and Cherrie Gil, it was a tragic horror movie of nuns being slaughtered to death. I can remember up to now the old movie MARUJA of  Susan Roces and Fernando Poe Jr,  In this movie, Susan was so young and beautiful and when she died in the movie she was buried in a beautiful glass coffin filled with sweet scented roses. My grandmother Honorata loved watching movies so lagi kami sa cinema every time when her favorite movie stars had newly released movies. Then I also remember when my youngest brother was born. I was wide awake watching the situation happened laboriously. The birth of a newborn is always exciting and surprisingly happy for everyone. My brother was born in our home not in the hospital. The presence of the whole family and two midwives (midwife) or comadrona inside the house while  having labor is somewhat unfamiliar in today's time when babies are delivered inside the hospital and doctors attend to the labor room.

To tell you the complete details of all the stories then there's really no enough space to put them together.

I remember that my grandmother owned a comics store, have to count piles of comics one by one and if something is missing have to collect them from renters. Yes dude, we rent out comics to neighbors and sometimes there's nobody returning the comics because some dudes used them to start fire on their clay oven or used the paper for wiping their ass.

OMG! Lots of memories to remember at age 4, 5, 6, 7 mostly funny stories. Wish to name names but that's not polite anymore. You wished I forgot them all eh?
