When a famous politician said that it's time to bring back "prayers inside the school" then that's GREAT! Students should pray and there's nothing wrong with it. Freedom of worship is a right and privilege of every individual.
I know that we pray inside the Church, we pray at home. We always say our grace before each meal by the dining table. We pray before we go to sleep. WE PRAY and nothing's wrong with that. It is customary and traditional act of being religious and depends on what ethnic background you are born with or in what denominations your family belongs to.
Back in Elementary when we have to pray before the class starts and the program started with talent portions. We pray unconsciously when there's exam.
Do you think it helps? Psychologically, emotionally, prayers help someone to be stronger and wiser. Prayers give strength and power you wont be able to imagine. Unfathomable of divine intervention.
A special subject CHARACTER EDUCATION is part of the curricula. We had a textbook that we used to read everyday for that subject in class. Every page has a story with moral lesson.

OMG! It's all in my mind. Imagine that textbook was provided for us when I was in Grade 2 and still can't forget about it. That's the value of rote system. In my time all of the students relied on memorization. We memorized the whole book. We had a President who valued the wealth of education and the value of good memory. Never mind about being robotic, and monotonous.
In the Philippines when those doctors and lawyers valued their sense of memory because it would be their route to success. Well, you don't want your doctors searching the image of your kidney and its micro parts in the computer while on operation. You don't like lawyers lost for words because he forget something and the case he lose because of incompetence. Prayers are proven to be an exercise to your brain at a very young age and from there you'll go too far and beyond.
