Downpour last night and downpour this morning and it's cooler to say the least at least when working at the yard can make us sweat now. How could that be? It's not even 10 degrees Celsius outside. What will happen if the temperature goes up to 20 to 25 to 30 degrees Celsius? Do you think it will cause a blaze? California has been putting off wildfire already, too early? Or because that area is closer to where the orange plantation and crop rotation is much needed for sustainability? God knows or whoever is in that area that provides the news.
Too many news being hoarded and some of these news are too late to even been broadcast. Why is it? The messenger or source of news are distorting news or too many lazy newscasters broadcasting old news and not going to the source of news where it happening in that moment in time or could be swapping lies about news?
Last night, my daughter and I once again watched a sci-fi movie The PASSENGERS starring Jennifer Lawrence (Hunger Games and MockingJay star actress). In this futuristic movie she was awakened by a lonely mechanic named Jim (Chris Pratt) who woke up before his time of the long duration of 90 years to get to the Homestead II. Well, he can't be talking to the bartender for the rest of his living life eh. La vida loca! There are 5,000 passengers aboard the spaceship from earth and only 258 crews, all of which are sleeping inside their special pods fed with futuristic food supplements through feeding tube as if its life in a coma. The spaceship status is in "autopilot" meaning nobody is manning or doing the maintenance and piloting of their spaceship. The captain is also asleep in his own cubicle or pod. What the hell eh? 90 years!!!!? Wasting life. Sleep for the long duration of the journey doing nothing but sleep. Truly unbelievable insane story but does it makes sense? Only when the passengers are probably hopeless, in despair, depressed and have incurable ailments who would like to try the unknowns of space travel. Great acting and suspense is inevitable and mindboggling. Fishburne (of the Matrix fame) who only had few scenes was offered by the Autodoc with blue pills to keep him alive for few minutes or hour before his death. The android bartender Arthur had the best way of entertaining Jim and Aurora. No wonder android will be revived and put back to work again. It's the same with the bank when ATM machines will flourish because it is safer and non-confrontal, non-judgmental and doesn't discriminate the customers whether they are black or white. Whether they have lots of money or do not have enough money. Because truth is who are the people using the bank? Most of the people using the bank have work and are paid with cheques. Not too many used the bank as savings. That's another story to tackle with and QUANTICO had dealt with that story last night. Lastly, who needs a doctor if you have the AUTODOC pod? That reminds me of STARGATE. Well, it's the story of whoever gets to wake up first and use the AUTODOC to survive.
NOTE: I watched the movie PASSENGERS once again. I was intrigued. Know why? It reminds me of my old novel (not published yet) CRACKER JACK LOBSTER. It was posted on my net novella LA TAVERNA, similar story. Weird! I'm not angry at the similarities of such podcast and the meaningful use of "Aurora." whatever! The use of "Jim" name instead of the "bean plants" they had the oak tree, the cooks are machines and robots, Cracker Jack's team are talented men who knew how to cook to impress the King aside from martial arts skills they possessed. I think movies themes nowadays have no originality anymore. Millions of movies out there, one way or another our stories will be the same with another movie being made or produce. Alam mo na maraming gaya-gaya.
Anyway, I enjoyed the movie even if it doesn't make sense. Rather we are now facing reality that every time we board a plane ask the pilots to let them stay awake even if the airplane is equipped with "autopilot." Because you as customers of the commercial airplanes would like to reach another destination and would like a safer secured flight so that you can land safely and alive to meet your loved ones. Make sure that the group of stewardess also knows how to fly the plane just in case the pilots are all asleep.
