Another hot sunny day once again and how many times do I have to
water the bougainvillea? Twice a day. Looks like a very thirsty plant.
However, no regret here 'cuz bougainvilleas are beautiful, attractive
flowers. Our bougainvillea loves being at the patio in the backyard facing East.
From what I had seen on you tube about how to
raise a bougainvillea plant: That we don't have to worry because in
Greece, they only water their bougainvilleas once a week and still
survive(s). Bougainvilleas are woody, sturdy plant. It's a crawler and
entangles itself to its support.
How to provide
support for bougainvillea if its planted on ceramic pot? Just look at
what I did, re:photo above. I have three bamboo poles planted inside
the ceramic and acted as support for the plant to climb up instead of
crawling outside of the ceramic pot.
If you live in
tropical islands with temperate tropical weather temperature you can
just plant it along the fence and let it crawl until the fence is
covered. Or you can build an arbor or arc.
I have the
bougainvillea on ceramic pot so that I can place it inside the house for
the long duration of winter then out again at the patio during spring
and summer time.
My bougainvillea is now 4 months old and stands 5 ft. tall. Wow!
