Go Fish

Thank God the temperature today was lowered to only 11 degrees celsius. In my own machine or device,  indoor  is 68 degrees F. It will eventually go up later this afternoon up to 15 degrees C. Truth is better to have lower temp. here at the island because there are too many fishing communities here and not to mention that there are too many fish running and swimming on the ponds, lakes, rivers, and big body of water called ocean. Soon it will be fishing galore out there from Campbell River to Gold River up to Port Hardy. Where  in the world  we can catch big fish such as halibut, blue fin tuna and big salmons? Add red snappers and rock cod? Uh, delicious fish!!!!!

With all those fishing accessories that husband bought recently include: big fish sliders or float stops (work equally well on deep fast flowing water) , octopus golden bat, treble hooks for chums, and many different variety of hooks and baits he is ready to go fishing. But wait, there are lots of work happening at summer time so fishing can really wait. Let other fishermen go fish first for herring.

Two years ago there was this helluviah of non-stop fishing at the river where millions of fish were released and people from everywhere gathered to have that chance to go fly-fishing, boating and fishing at our rivers and ocean. Fishermen's hooks got entangled with their hooks and got inter twined with other people's hooks. Whoah! Really that was an area where fishermen have only few yards of distance from each other because they were so many of them fishing in that particular location. Word of mouth and hearsays only made these people rushed to that particular destination and bingo there they go to find it out for themselves. No one goes empty-handed. Each one went home carrying at least two salmons and others were lucky to have the maximum amount of fish required according to their fishing license which they have to follow or else lose their fishing license certificate or their vehicle impounded.

So many boats, so many trolls and so many tourists flocked the area. Big boom of tourism. Yeah it helps the community back to its prime time original habitat as the salmon capital of the world. However last year was a disappointment, not much of the lively abundant fish were seen or caught. What happened? Over fishing? Noisy environment? Lots of movements happening on the water? The water is too warm for the fish to stay alive and stay on Canadian waters?  What could be the problem?

Whatever is the problem still is > we'll go fishing. There's nothing wrong with following the standard and rules of fishing. It would be a catch-release basis if the fish is not that tantamount to the required measurement, it's okay. Fishing is a great hobby for  those nature lovers, for those who love the sea and its splendor and the joy it brings to those who seek tranquility along the waves of  fortune, adventure and good health. Ocean air sometimes let you breathe freely and the salty water that you touch also brings forth a natural remedy for asthmatic. The soothing effect of salty water and it's odor can make sick people breathe properly and live better. Add zest to life.

For those who love to gather stones, or rocks...I know so many inhabitants of the island collect polished rocks at the shore. My daughter used to collect shiny stones and shells. Other people collect bigger rock something that you can sit on like a stool. Some people gather medium sized rock where they can sit like on a bench. What they used it for, really? They used these bigger rocks as garden ornament on display at their front yard. Japanese calming rock beautifies a Japanese garden. My neighbor has few of those granite rock and one is a big slab of marble along side so many of her yucca plants. Wow!

There are so many of those granite rocks at the camping site and I was thinking of collecting them but they are too heavy. Hahahaha! They are heavier than me of course. Or I can have that big rock right there at the shore at the SIHW's beach. That huge giant rock's been there since the island was discovered by Cook. In my mind it was Capt. Vancouver who discovered this island. Whoever is the first and what  history is to you in your own book its' best for debate. It could be the last samurai who discovered the island eh? It cannot be shintaro or daigoro. It could be me. Who knows. But you know what? This is just to us, I think that giant rock is the original golden Buddha.
