Space Oddity

After a day's house cleaning, re-arranging things and stuff including knick -knacks then planned for family's dinner. It's hard to plan. You know that it's simple and easy? Sometimes I get lazy too when everything becomes redundant. Eating the same kind of food. Eating the same kind of veggies because there are nothing available in the supermarket.  The supermarket here in Canada do not have the same complete variety of vegetables that are present in the normal wet market and supermarket in Philippines. There are no complete variety of fish being sold here. You can only choose from salmon to frozen mackerel, frozen carp, frozen herring but they are used as baits, few trouts, canned tuna, ling cod and red snapper is you have to go fishing for that. There's no galunggong, sapsap, biya, dilis, tawilis, etc.
When it comes to veggies? You can only buy at least the same kind of variety: bokchoy, pumpkin's, eggplant, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, corn, broccoli, spinach, chayote, cabbage, zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, celery. That's it. Nothing else. In Philippines you can choose from hundreds of vegetables at the market. Veggies that white people do not eat, that's why those vegetables such as: malunggay, camoteng talbos, cassava leaves, breadfruit, jackfruit, banana heart, young bamboo shoots, taro leaves, pumpkin's flower, fern, upo, patola, young chili leaves, and many edible veggies from the province are not available here.

It was supposedly Mother's Day yesterday but because it's also falls for Pirate Day...I greeted my Mother earlier in advance. He he he. I should have watch the parade and the search for treasure chest but nobody wants to get out of the house.

It should have been fun right? Anyway we all enjoyed our time just being at home. Do computer work, watch TV, keep busy, make everyone feel happy . Make the home less stressful and  harmonious by being quiet. Try being independent, relax and attend to the work station if needed. Yeah, my home feels like the Space Station in 2013: Space Oddity.

What my good husband gave me for Mother's Day? A brand new Notebook! Wow! I love my husband! Thank you! I love singing M & M's chocolate's theme song. Haha! My husband thought my computer Notebook has been plagued with virus and no longer capable of its work so he bought a new one. Nice, beautiful Notebook featuring Windows 8.

Everybody loves roast chicken with stuffing except one member of the family don't eat chicken so we have pork sinigang for soup. SOUP? Why not? Sour broth is good. Prawns sautéed in shredded garlic on hot melting butter is aromatic and delicious. Greek salad is fantastic at heart's contentment. Steamed broccoli for veggies, steamed rice as always. Steamed potatoes with hot gravy on top, what else can you ask for? We saved at least $200 worth of savings just by being at home on Mother's Day. Being at the restaurant on that special day is probably good and fabulous but we don't like to sound bitter after wards.
I could have fresh flowers but I have a garden with flowers blooming in May. More flowers to bloom comes June and July.
