It's Just Not Fun To Go Fishing Anymore

My husband and his friends went fishing yesterday, using his friend's big boat bigger than ours. I was already thinking of what to cook for supper leaving veggies on top of the table for that lucky fish. However, husband arrived empty -handed, without any fish. Wow! What happened? He said , he caught coho salmons but released them in the ocean. He caught cohos already and released them? What? Did I hear it right? COHO. What a coho looks like? Is it coho or sockeye. I heard it was coho. Whatever!

Is it forbidden now to catch coho? That there are certain species of salmon that you are not allowed to catch in the ocean somewhere in BC?

So, my husband google the Oceans and Fisheries (Ministry) to find that out and what quantity is allowed for fishing in certain areas within Vancouver island's water region, the ocean.

It seems to me that the production of salmon this year is at the rate of  "conservation or extinction?" Hm, I could be wrong...the right word is endangered salmon species.

What happened to the hundred millions of salmons within British Columbia? Is the ocean's water getting warm and the fish habitat is warm enough for the salmons to thrive or because the fish farm produced are not allowing the fish to swim in the ocean current.

There is a big difference between fish-farm produced vs the wild salmons in natural ocean habitat. Fish you can catch through the ocean is real fresh, odorless and tasted better while the salmons in artificial habitat tasted awful ( tasted pellets) and their bodies are saggy and soft.

I think Campbell River is no longer the Salmon capital especially when sport's fishermen can no longer catch fish or one fisherman is allowed to catch two different species or one of each kind (if any). If there's a limit (in quantity) to what they can catch and the limit to the size (measurement) of the fish then using a boat that you have to load gas worth $ 100-$200 (depends on the engine and size of the boat) then consider just buying salmons from the supermarket.

Husband and his friends do not go overfishing because there's really nothing to catch except those fish they released. Catch and released cohos. Let other commercial fishermen take all the school of fish in the ocean and make them rich. Uhm, being sarcastic here.
