I love true story! I hate fiction. True story is something you can relate to because as a human being and still living you would like to read something that is real, not imagined, not illusion but based on facts because who you are kidding and lying to anyway?
I think a story being told honestly you don't get to lie or pretend. No pretension whatsoever. However if its imagined or based on fiction you have to think out of this world, imagined things that never happened and that's very difficult to write unless of course you are used to writing without food in the stomach or you are hallucinating because of hunger or you are suffering from dementia, or maybe having melancholia and the writer was inside a mental institution or maybe inside the prison.
Most of the crime drama being shown on TV were mostly stories taken into account from prisoners inside the prison. Take for example, Jodie Foster as Clarisse the (FBI Agent) who used to visit and asked questions from Hannibal Lecter in the highly guarded prison. It was a story of cat and mouse and the cannibal who is also a practising novelist. Weird movie, weird story. Another movie that is...you thought it's fiction? Maybe not fiction. The Shining, the movie is about a writer who transformed himself into a psychopath while writing his novel inside the famous hotel. Being secluded in the hotel in a snowstorm with his wife and their young autistic son (who happened to see paranormal horror activities inside the hotel). The story/movie "The Shining" was as gruesome, bloody and horrid just like "The Silence of the Lambs. Now what? Can you tell whether the movies: The Shining and Silence of the Lambs are fiction or true story?
For a novelist to think/write of these psycho-thrillers by himself is unbelievable. It's like a pre-meditated murder. Assumed that the stories were real and the murderers were actually inside prison and what happened are gruesome murders. If all these stories were imagined by authors of these novels? I think we all should stay away from the writers. Scary!
True story live up to its name. TRUE not imagined. OMG! Although so many people like watching psychological thrillers they are not the kind of people who like crimes. Most of them like to watch this type of movies to be aware and know consequences. Awareness of what is wrong, how to make things right and how to survive away from such stories or situation. Learn to take care of yourself from bullying, harassment and not to be a victim of any crime. To be strong and alert in times of trials and tribulations. Better learn self defense: taekwando, kickboxing, arnis, karate, kungfu, jujitsu or aikido. Truth is I enrolled myself in Aikido when I was in College. I was not able to use it because I don't have enemy. lol.
Somewhere along the blogworlds are true people who love to share their life stories from their past and they were candid with no holds bared or nothing to hide anymore. They are not afraid of ridicule, they are not shy about what other people are saying because they were honest and truthful about themselves. I think it has something to do with age. I think when a writer is over 50 or over 60 they are not ashamed about their own past. Children and young adults learned from their past mistakes that maybe they could learn from those mistakes and make their lives better. Old people learned too from young adults or from people younger than them, simply it's a give and take in sharing knowledge.
