It was fifteen years ago that I took this photograph above with my husband and daughter riding the rider-mower cutting the grass at the backyard. My daughter Tam had so much fun driving it. Fifteen years ago everything seems so normal, and up to now we live as normally we want it to be, one big happy family.
Notice the cherry blossom tree and the Japanese plum tree at the background, fifteen years ago they were young and small. My in-laws had only few neighbors living on another side of the fence. There were so much vacant yards out there. Now? You wont believe those vacancy has been filled with so many houses enough for a subdivision to flourish, one big community of mostly good quiet neighbors. Quiet in the sense that nobody played their radio or stereo so loud. Can't hear any music, no fiesta whatsoever. Nobody hurled vindictive foul language nor hear any swearing and nobody drink wine or beer outside, simply so serene in this place. Let say how happy they were to have civilized neighbors that it's not great to run around the yard and make noise. Haha! Only in Philippines where I can talk so loud for neighbors to hear, including my real loud laughter. I used to bring my loud speaker with me you know...
My two young sons watched their Dad and sister finished their turn in cutting the grass so that they can have the chance to ride the red rider-mower. While I'm having fun enjoying the view of the yard and the many garden plants around the rancher home. Trying to pin - point which is which classifying trees, plants and flowers, reminding myself of my botany subject in college. Fifteen years ago my in-laws had chosen the same kind of florals to plant mostly roses, lillies, rhododendrons, sweet peas, and dahlias, azaleas and this time we are adding something new the yukka plant. Thank you good neighbor for this extra ordinary plant. Looks like fortune plant actually so it must be good.
Yukka plants are originally grown in Arizona and these plants thrive in hot climate regions in the South American peninsula. I think its also a plant you can mostly admire along many parks in Philippines. I'm not sure I think it's different kind of shrub. I was thinking of agave plants.
So many big roots in it. This one fabulous young root is what my husband had chosen to be planted beside the rows of roses in the garden. Planted each one yukka plant on every corner of the house. The weather cooperates real good and the gardening is done. All the bulbs were planted too at the front and back of our home. Just wait and see how it's gonna bear all the fabulous flowers. Now weather bureau you can have your stormy weather if you want. Haha J/K.
Vanity! vanity! I think I lose ten pounds doing some gardening outside. Crazy as it may seem I am in constant weight-watcher watching my own weight because of so many awful remarks, of me being fat. Right I'm so fatty-fatty 2X4 hanging at the kitchen door. I have to hang at the kitchen most of the time yeah simply because I'm the cook here. I'm the chef of my family in my own home sweet HOME.
