It always start with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and that's how my morning breaks into a new dawn. While my members of my family would prefer sunshine eggs or scrambled eggs with freshly toasted bread and not to forget with butter on it. It's not bread without butter melting on hot bread surface.
Although I accomodate any kind of delicious bread in the form of scones or biscuits with raisins or cheese flavor. Buttered croissants and lately what a surprise that my sister made something different, a delicacy called "sapin-sapin" which is made from sticky rice with the right amount of sugar in it and maybe coconut milk flavorings and those amazing bright food colors added spectacle. Great! My husband tried it too and he was laughing at first when he cut it with fork instead of using knife because at first he thought it's just some sort of soft vanilla cake. It was sticky alright and hopefully my tummy can digest it. Consider that my breakfast. Unique breakfast for the day.
Oh know what? I cooked our lunch earlier than usual so that there'll be no complaints. This time it's beef calderata. A spanish recipe I learned from my own Mother. My kids love stew, rich and creamy beef stew. There's no need for them to open a can of Campbell's for I cooked something fresh, always a great cook. Always a great Mom! Nagbuhat na naman ako ng bangko. Sure, who will praise me for doing this work? It's not work actually. Mother's love and mother's chores at home is not consider work. You don't get paid being a mother.

Since we had beef for lunch I cannot cook another beef viand for dinner. That's a big no. So I could only think of any chicken recipe for tonight. Malaysian chicken wings with enough tangy flavor of well blended ginger and garlic plus soya sauce is what my family is having for supper while I have my own special "bicol express." Weird name? It is strange that this viand has its unique spicy flavor inside and out. What is so strange than fiction is this food is made from fresh taro leaves wrapped with the finest ingredients. A viand wrapped like a gift. Sorry wont tell you the ingredients and the recipe. Top secret!Superbly delicious. I consider pinangat the most amazing food ever. Also from my Mother's recipe and for the first time in my life I was able to cook it here and I was able to deliver the best, most perfect pinangat ever!!!!! Wow!

Of course without rice for all these superbly wonderful viands, then it's incomplete. Rice is important as a staple food and every household should have it. A sack of rice, a bowl of rice...and it cradles to civilization far and beyond.
